Introduction

Howdy everyone, Welcome to my Season 6 Alistar guide. Since the start of Season 6, I've been playing a lot of support in SoloQ. As climbing through silver into gold, Ive came to realize how brutally important supports are. I've learned that many people play support to just "not feed" or "get carried" and I'm totally against that, in fact supports can completely carry SoloQ games because of the bloodbaths we encounter every game. Alistar, I believe is plain and simple the best or one of the best SoloQ supports because of the team fight potetional. One of the most important things supports need to be able to do is peel well for their carries. Alistars kit is a great one for exactly that. Throughout the next few chapters I hope to inform you on how to play the cow. Thanks!! and enjoy!! :D

***First LoL Guide, learning more and more everyday, will be adding a lot more content and updating as much as possible. Be patient with me fella's :)

Summoner Spells

******95% of the time I take Exhaust because of the team fighting use. Exhaust is probably the best SS in the game right now just because of all the ways it can be used. Controlling the carries is one of the most important things you need to be able to do with alistar. Ignite is really only used to be aggressive and get fed in lane. Unless your mid has an exhaust id 99% of the time take exhaust. With Boots of Swiftness - Distortion) and Insight (mastery) your getting 30% CDR on SS which goes into his kit very smoothly because of flash engages and constant team fight control with exhaust

Build Path

Alistars build path is fairly smooth and simple. You can go a couple routes on build path though, depending on how you want to play the lane and or how fed your lane is. Face, Sightstone, and Boots are the early core of the build. I generally back around 1300 gold because it allows a smooth build path. Backing with 1300 gold allows you do a few different simple paths these are some of the first buys you are going to want to get, sighstone and targons being priority. Targon's Brace + Sightstone OR Targon's Brace Ruby Crystal Boots I generally go with the second path. If you are very fed in lane, It gives you more freedom to build off the path. Main Build Path you can see above in builds. Once you finish sightstone boots and face, decide for based off the carries on their team if going frozen heart of locket is more important than other. I like locket earlier if it's the average bloodbath SoloQ game to give your allies some shield to absorb something like a lux ult or any other annoying CC damage.

Tatics

Alistar Tatics

Alistar is known for his combo potentials, heres a list of a handful of basic and more intermediate combos you can pull off as alistar

(Q) Pulverize
+ (W) Headbutt

(W) Headbutt
+ (Q) Pulverize
Catching the AD carry out of position in lane..
(W) Headbutt to a minion and then (Q) Pulverize Those above are some of the basic you should be able to pull off atleast 9/10 times, the W+Q is a little bit harder to pull of than the basic Q + W, you just need to have a fast twitch reaction so you don't kick out of the enemy before knocking him up

When trying to escape, look to throw down a green ward around a jungle camp and Headbutt an example would be tossing a Stealth Ward and Headbutt to the gromp.

When in lanes against a Morgana, Braum, or just any Alistar counters in general, look to buy early swifts, let your AD carry know play safe and then you have opportunities to run up to midlane to get a kill for your mid lane or jungle.
