Hi there, and welcome to my Riven guide! My name is Sam ''Tokisaki'' Muller and I am currently a Diamond elo player, working my way up to the top! I've started around the end of season 2 and rushed from Silver to Platinum in a few weeks of time. Then when season 4 started, I got myself placed in Platinum III, and rushed towards Diamond. I'm currently Diamond III and still climbing!

People have been asking me to make a Riven guide since I've been maining her for a long time now. The reason I main Riven is mainly because I just love to play her. She is the only champion that never bored me. I hope this guide will help you enjoy Riven as much as I do!

These were my Riven statistics in my climb from Silver to Platinum!

Pros
- High Mobility
- Insane amount of Damage
- Extreme Snowballer
- Good at the laning phase
- No mana/energy
- FUN!

Cons
- Weak to CC
- No sustain
- Tough to master
- Predictable

Riven scales amazingly well with Attack Damage. She is also one of the strongest early game toplaners in the game, which makes these quints in my opinion the best choice on Riven. Though these quints aren't the only ones I use. When I verse a tough lane such as , I often use Lifesteal quints just for the early sustain since Renekton most of the time will outdamage you.


Just as I told above about the Attack Damage Quintessences, Attack Damage Marks are the best runes to go with on Riven because she scales so well with AD. You should take these over any other marks on Riven.


You basically MUST have armor in your runepage on Riven. Not only because you will verse mostly AD toplaners, but just in general because Riven is very squishy. 'Till the time you get a lot of lifesteal or even a tanky item, you will need the early armor to keep you safe.

There are a lot of ways to go with on Riven with glyph, though this is my favourite way. The 6 CDR Glyphs give me 5% CDR which gives me 40% CDR when I have full build (With the Sorcery mastery). If you prefer you can also go full CDR glyphs, or full MR Glyphs. Though this is my most preferred way to go.

The masteries are basically the to-go masteries for an AD carry toplaner. I'll explain the ones that might not be obvious.

I take Double Edged Sword over Butcher, because with Riven it's mainly about you dealing the damage to them as hard as possible, while in the meanwhile lifestealing yourself back to full HP. The 2% damage you will deal is worth the 1% extra damage you will take.


4 points in Sorcery over Fury, because Riven does very well with Cooldown Reduction. Besides, the 5% CDR it gives will allow you to easily make it to 40% CDR in your full item build with the Glyphs I mentioned above.


I take 3 points in Executioner over Fury, because the 5% extra damage on targets below 50% goes extremely well with Riven's ultimate, Blade of the Exile.
