The Darkin Scythe (PASSIVE)
Kayn Passive Ability
Introduction
Letters in Gold will categorized as strategies I use with the ability
PASSIVE: THE DARKIN SCYTHE
Kayn wields an ancient weapon and fights the darkin within it, Rhaast, for control. During each game, one will consume the other. Kayn hones his shadow skills by hunting ranged opponents, while Rhaast fuels his bloodlust by going toe-to-toe with melee enemies. If Kayn wins the struggle, he ascends to become the shadow assassin. If Rhaast is the victor, the darkin consumes his host and takes center stage.
Choose Rhaast ( Darkin ) if:
-you are fighting melee champions
-in need of crowd control( Rhaast's "W" can knock subjects airborne )
-need more damage against "Tanky" Champions ( Rhaast's "Q" can deal additional damage based on a percentage of the champion's health )
Choose Kayn ( Shadow Assassin ) if:
-you are fighting ranged champions
-in need of more attack and movement speed
-you need more range ( Kayn's "Q" in Shadow Assassin form gains much more range )
NOTE: I even use this form to fight melee champions, depending on the situation.
SHADOW ASSASSIN PASSIVE:
Whenever Kayn deals damage against enemy champions he also deals 12% - 44% (based on level) of post-mitigation damage as bonus magic damage, lasting for 3 seconds upon entering in combat with an enemy champion, refreshing after 8 seconds out of combat with them or by using Umbral Trespass.
Q: REAPING SLASH
Kayn dashes forward, striking nearby enemies at the end of the dash. Both the dash and the strike itself deal physical damage. Reaping Slash deals bonus damage to monsters.
Can be used to dash through thin walls. Great for running from and attacking champions. Also use this ability to deal damage to many champs at the same time ( but don't rush recklessly ).
W: BLADE'S REACH
Deal damage in a line that significantly slows all enemies hit.
Shadow Assassin: Leaves behind a living shadow that casts Blade’s Reach in Kayn's stead. The living shadow's Blade has increased range.
Take advantage of the living shadow to hit enemies while running, use "Blade's Reach" and "Reaping Slash" at the same time. Also take advantage of the extended range shadow assassin form gives you to poke enemy champions
Darkin: Blade’s Reach briefly knocks up struck enemies.
You can use "Blade's Reach" to knock enemies up to slow them down, or keep them in place for an attack! This is great for crowd control!
