Jax outdamages you early game and it's really hard to kite him with his mobility. You should try to proxy him depending on who their jungler is and if you have boots, glory and ghost up for an easy escape. You should definitely get Rylai's against him for kiting and then build straight into tank. This can change depending on whether or not the Jax is new or not / if you get help from your jg early on (ask him/her to camp top if they can).
Rumble
Can be a very hard lane depending on skill match up. Farm under turret until level 5-6, then start proxying. Try to avoid his harpoon because thats where he gets most of his damage from
Olaf
Very hard lane. He does a lot of damage with his q poke and can easily keep up with you with his movement speed - Make sure you take ghost against this matchup or he will destroy you.
Jayce
Really hard lane. Wouldnt suggest engaging with him until after level 6. Try to proxy as much as possible.
Gnar
If he rushes frozen mallet its over. You shouldn't try to fight him at all and just help other lanes or ask for help from jungler. If he doesn't get mallet try to engage with him when hes in mega gnar form because it will be really hard for him to get away from you. When he's in mini gnar, you should try to avoid his poke and don't try to engage because he will just jump away from you.
Camille
Very mobile champ and hard to counter as singed. Best chances you have at killing her are in team fights. Luckily, she isn't played often.
Wukong
Does a lot of burst and will destroy you in laning phase. Try to proxy and farm other lanes late game to catch up in cs.
Renekton
Try to fight him pre-6. He can ult and easily destroy you. Also be warned, he can easily turret dive you with ult and stun you and easily kill you until you get some tanky items.
Kennen
Not a lot you can do here. He has a lot of movement speed and can poke you down in laning phase. He also has a stun you have to watch out for.
Jarvan IV
Not often will you see him in top lane but anyways he can out damage you and completely take you out of team fights with his ult. Best thing you can do is proxy proxy laning against him and if he ults you fling him out of it with your e.
Heimerdinger
Really hard match up, He will destroy you in lane but luckily you will probably never see him in lane against you.
Trundle
Try to Proxy and don't fight him without help from other teammates.
Sion
Will do a lot of damage early game until you build some defensive items. Try not to engage until after 6. Also sidestep his knock up and it will be harder for him to kill you.
Pantheon
Pre 6 he will mess you up with his q poke. Try to proxy on him until then. After 6 you can ghost in on him with ult and absolutely wreck him depending on how far behind you are or not. You can also stop his ult with your w which will most likely piss him off :)
Kayle
Very hard lane. She will bully you nonstop to farm under turret so proxy if you can. Be weary of her ult that makes her invulnerable for a few seconds and try to fling her under your own turret if she is pushing you in really hard.
Darius
You need to rush tabi and bramble. Proxy as much as you can but he will bully you out of lane if you let him get a lot of kills on you pre 6 and youll be miserable for the rest of the game.
Tryndamere
Rylais is really useful here. You can win a 1v1 with him pre 6 but know that he will destroy you if you let him stay in melee range long enough. Pay attention to his fury bar- the higher it gets, the harder he hits you for.
Ornn
Just farm in lane and push him under turret. Don't try to 1v1 him because he's ridiculously tanky. Your best bet is to farm away, proxy, and try to avoid his skillshots until you receive help from your jungler or other teammates.
Gangplank
Most of the time gp is really bad low elo. If you find a good one, he will make the game miserable for you. If you want to 1v1 him, make sure you have ghost and ult up and try to avoid standing in his barrels. Also if your proxying and try to recall, make sure your hidden otherwise he can stop you with his ult.
Fiora
Not a horrible match up but you definitely want to engage pre 6. Her ult can easily destroy you unless you have the items and ult to get away. Try to wait until she uses her block ability to fling her otherwise youll never get any damage out after 6.
Dr. Mundo
Mundo is just going to be annoying. Try to sidestep his q and farm as much as possible.
Urgot
Skill match up. He can hurt you pre 6 pretty bad so watch out.
Swain
Really hard lane. You should try to wait out his stun before going in for engaging but once he ults you just have to run for your life and get out of range. Most guides will tell you wait till he runs out of mana pre 6 to fight him but now with the new runes there are builds that give him unlimited amount of mana so that's something to watch out for as well.
Riven
Usually when people see riven they panick. Wait it out and play it safe in laning phase. It also depends on the player. A really good riven will completely destroy you and has the potential to 2v1 if your jungler is helping you. They really have to know their combos tho and low elo you usually don't have to worry about this too much. If she is really greedy and thinks she can shield and then kill you under turret try to use your w and then flip her under turret when she trys to run away and usually you can land a kill (pre 6).
Poppy
Pretty even matchup. Just move around a lot and dont let her hit you with her q over and over again and you'll be fine.
Mordekaiser
A fairly hard match up. I don't suggest engaging with him pre 6 and even when you do, be very careful.
Xin Zhao
Xin is really strong with the new runes but now he's mostly played in the jungle. If you do lane against him just play safe and be aware of his insane burst potential
Aatrox
Not a huge problem. Can be tough in a 1v1 but just play smart and you'll be fine.
Shen
Fairly even match up. He will taunt you under his turret so be weary and don't fall for it. Just continue your proxy/laning phase and dont be greedy for kills.
Singed
Skill match up. Get Rylais before him and engage the 1v1 and you should be fine. If your behind, try to build some MR and focus on your laning phase. Just remember if he gets ahead of you, you can assume he will try to proxy so communicate with your jungler and get some easy kills.
Nasus
Don't let this match up fool you. Nasus is a farming heavy champion and you will most likely have him farming under turret until level 6-7. Once he gets ult he can easily destroy you depending on how well he farmed with his q damage. Be weary and if he ults you should pop ghost, righteous, or ult and get the hell out of his way.
Irelia
Just be aware of her stun. She can dash in and land a stun that can ruin your day.
Teemo
A really difficult lane. He can easily poke you all game especially pre 6 and he will be really annoying. Also a really hard lane for your jungler to gank after 6 because of his shroom placement.
Vladimir
Skill match up. Proxy as much as you can. He will poke you down pre 6 and heal non stop so just focus on farming and be careful.
Maokai
You guys are just gonna farm the entire game and if you are both playing smart he will never land a kill and you will never land a kill. Just proxy as much as possible and watch out for jungle ganks. It's usually not worth it to even ask your jungler for ganks after level 6 because of how tanky he gets.
Cho'Gath
He has a pretty weak early game and you can easily kill him if you avoid his q. Watch out later on tho, because he always has the potential to be strong late game no matter how laning phase went.
Yorick
Yorick is super strong right now because he does it all. He does a lot of damage after 6, he can build tanky and still do a lot of damage, and he can 3-5 shot turrets with the new runes. You should try to fight him pre 6 but watch out for when he summons 3 ghouls he will try to hit you with his e for poke damage, you should just side step this because its fairly narrow. If your really close to him when he uses it you can also avoid it. His cage will tilt you so try to avoid this as well. If he pops ult on you in a 1v1 and your both at 100 percent hp you should run like hell and try to kill it with your poison. His ult does Hella damage right now to both champions and turrets. Yorick has the 1v2 potential as soon as he gets his triforce.
Nautilus
You should win the 1v1. He's going to just build tanky 9 out of 10 times so just push him under tower and proxy as much as you can to get ahead.
Illaoi
Skill match up. She has the potential to completely destroy you after 6 but if you can avoid and sidestep her tentacles you could possibly win in an engage. Just know that she can heal a lot when she ults and uses her jump onto you.
Yasuo
Really easy lane. Try to avoid his q and you'll be fine. Your poison breaks his shield and when he dashes to you, you can just fling him over your shoulder and kill him.
Malphite
He's decent pre 6 with his poke q ability so watch out for that. Luckily he runs out of mana fairly quickly if all he does is poke at you with his q and you can just push him under turret.
Lee Sin
Rare match up but just dodge his q and its a free lane.
Kled
Definitely rush Tabi and just run away from him with your poison whenever he tries to rope you in.
Garen
Easy lane just spread your poison and push him under turret. After 6 depending on what items he builds remember if you let him go without being hit for too long his passive with help him win lane against you (Shouldn't be hard with your poison).
Galio
Not a hard lane, Just avoid his q and you'll be fine. Also dont be baited by him under turret he will taunt you and easily kill you.
Kalista
Iv'e been seeing this a lot for some reason in the preseason in low elo. Just try to engage her pre 6 because she'll be really squishy but also remember she has a dash that she can use to get away from you and is a ranged champion so she can poke you. Keep in mind her ult requires her to bind another champion so she will most likely rely on the jungler to win all her fights.
Rengar
Assassin's are back guys and unfortunately, they do A LOT of damage. Rengar top is a thing again and you know he will just sit in the brush pre 6 and jump out and hit you over and over again. He is really dangerous I would suggest getting as many wards out as you can and try to proxy. This is a hard match up.
Ryze
Avoid his q and push him under turret. Build some mr and proxy like hell. Remember his he can teleport with his ult so be weary.
Talon
Another assassin. He can be really squishy early game but also really dangerous. Try to avoid his q.
Nunu & Willump
Really easy match up. His q can do some serious poke early game, just by abyssal mask and continue with your regular build. You can easily escape his ult and just push him under turret and proxy.
Vayne
This can be rough and unfortunately I see it quite often. Play smart and get some defensive items. He will most likely be running press the attack or domination with electricute so try to watch out for what his build is and base your playstyle off of that. He has the potential to do a lot of damage quickly and is usually pretty greedy if he has you pushed under turret so look for opportunities to use your w and then flip him into turret and root him there making for an easy kill.
Zoe
Not a popular lane but it does happen. Depends on the skill of Zoe really. If she knows what shes doing she will destroy you in lane.
Hey guys and thank you for taking the time to read my guide. I am a top main and in season 7 I mainly played singed and yorick. With singed I have over 200 thousand mastery points and I play him on 3 different accounts. I reach plat 1 and I currently reside at plat 2 in season 7 on my main account. Singed is a really great and fun champion to play and I hope I can help many of you to master him. Please feel free to contact me for any questions or 1 on 1 coaching!
Introduction: Why play singed?
Introduction: Why play singed?
Asides from Singed great teamfight potential, the ground effect on his Mega Adhesive and his CC with Fling can be great use to the team even if he lost lane. When you finally get the hang of him, you WILL make your enemy laner ragequit almost all the time. Playing singed makes you learn all the different aspects and mechanics of the game instead of playing a bruiser and just learning simple engage mechanics. With singed you really have to plan out your engages and know when to back off. This means that picking up Singed can and will actually make you a substantially better League of Legends player overall. With the aspect of playing a tilting champion, you have to be weary about being too toxic in chat because people will call you out for playing singed and hes known to make a lot of players very angry.
If you arnt' banning teemo already every game you should! He is horrible to lane against for singed!
Summoner Spells
Summoner Spells
Ghost - Movement speed is really important on Singed so ghost is too strong to pass up in most cases.
Exhaust - Standard summoner spell for support champions that should always be brought vs. any comp with high kill pressure. However, Exhaust can also be used offensively to single out an opponent and make it difficult for them to escape which is amazing for singed because of his constant slows and w ability.
Ignite - You can take this when playing against a champ that is uses a lot of health regen or lifesteal but it is not as strong as exhaust late game.
Flash - Not recommended simply due to the fact that Flash gets outclassed by Ghost in 90% of situations and not taking a combat summoner spell makes your already weak laning phase virtually nonexistent.
Proxying
Proxying
How to proxy? Depends on the game with who your against in lane and who the jungler is.
Personally, I like to wait in front of where baron usually spawns until the first minion waves pushes to the first turret. Then I'll go through jungle and proxy the wave between enemy turrets. I'll usually do that for 3 waves until executing myself under the turret. I'll also make sure to execute if their jungler or top laner comes.
Lets say your playing against a jungler that you dont feel like you could escape or outplay I would wait until after level 6 where you have different options to use when you need to run away if you dont feel like executing. You would have ult, ghost, and righteous glory. All these things are viable to use as an escape. If all 3 of them are used together unless you get stunned or trapped, its almost nearly impossible to catch you.
Proxying is a great way to get ahead of your opposition and it also makes it impossible for them to ever push your turret. Keep in mind it will take a couple of attempts to get used to it and I suggest going into bot games and practicing.
Singed Jungle?
Singed Jungle?
Sometimes against melee top laners I will take the option to go singed jungle. This can work if played correctly.
I would take ghost and smite. I would start off proxying at lvl 1 like I would normally do in top lane. I would take 2-3 waves and then depending if I was getting targeted or not, I would go and take the enemy junglers blue buff if he/she started red. After that I would back and then continue to farm in my jungle per usual. I would then roam as much as possible focusing on winning lanes especially. If I was to get a jungle item it would also be blue cinderhulk then follow the normal build. Also if your feeling ballsy enough singed is great for low level invades when their jungler is alone. With his cc and w he can be a real pain in the *** to fight if the enemy jungler is half hp fighting red or raptors, etc.
I would not suggest going singed jungler until you have a great feel for the champion.
