Champion Build Guide
Introduction
Hello, guys. I am ShadowSlayerMain or SSM, a Zed main who ended up in Gold Tier during S9. On this guide I will show you how to kill your preys with Rengar. Well, he needs more games to be mastered than you think. If you get usual to something only he does you won't find him that difficult. My chapters will explain him so be sure to read them well. Good Luck!
Pros And Cons
+ Strong Early Game + One Shot Potential + Teamfight Knowledge Thanks to his high mobility and heavy Q- Savagery damage, Rengar can chase, catch and One Shot his victims if he dominates in Early Game. |
- Early Game Disadvantages - Heavy Item Dependance - Bad Focus in Teamfights An Assasin's wrong position can easily make him suicide. If they build shielding Items like Edge of Night and Maw of Malmortius, a wrong position can give them a chance to survive. |

These are the most common secondary rune parts for Rengar. With Sudden Impact you will gain increased lethality when you jump when using R- Thrill of the Hunt or from bush. With Relentless Hunter your MS out of combat will be increased by taking down unique enemy champions. |
This Item will give a buff on Rengar's Auto Attacks that can be useful for farming. It will also replace your Jungle Item because he needs bush to gank perfect. |
This is Rengar's basic Core Item for applying a slow on his target when he exits his hiding from bush to gank or when he jumps with R- Thrill of the Hunt on a champion. It is also useful for his abilities because they will deal Nightstalker Passive's damage. |
This is your next Core Item for increased Lethality and and a shield that blocks the next enemy ability. |
This is an ideal continue for increased Attack Speed and Life Steal. Remember that your bonus Attack Speed will start being lost when 1 or more enemy champions are near you and your target. |
This is a Good Early choice. Its abilities can help you by increasing your MS. |
Another option which can increase your Lethality by stacking up to 6 times on an enemy. It is also an ideal purchase for increased CDR. |
If the enemy team has a lot of carries that can easily die like ADCs without mobility, this is an optional purchase since it gives you +35% total Armor Penetration. |
After Duskblade of Draktharr's latest update this item was created for the Blackout Passive not to get lost. It is still the same Passive that reveals wards and invisible traps and its new placement is a lethality item too. |
This is the best choice against Heavy AP Burst enemies. |
This is an item that is often bought as 5th. Rengar is a champion that can easily die if he has wrong position so it is optional for Bad Early Games and can give you a chance to win a game that you can't win easily. |
Another MR Option and the best choice against CC enemies. If you get to a wrong position and get CC-ed it can help you a lot thanks to its active ability. |
You can upgrade Tiamat for more Life Steal when you have late game advantage. |
After you full build, you can build this for Spell Vamp and more AD. |
Jungling Phase
As Rengar you 'll be taking Q- Savagery at level 1 and will start from Red Buff. Before it spawns you can have 2 Ferocity stacks ready by jumping on the Blast Cone with Q- Savagery casted. I show you that trick as a video below:
Rengar is one of the champions that find ganking difficult because he doesn't need and will be enough behind with Jungle Items and only CC spell he's got is E- Bola Strike.
When you are going to gank a lane, except of using E- Bola Strike for CC, you can hide in bush to jump on the enemy laner. Casting Q- Savagery to reset your Auto Attack timer and deal more damage with the next Attack when you approach them is a better idea than jumping with Q- Savagery ready. When you get W- Battle Roar you 'll have the chance to reach 4/4 Ferocity stacks because this allows you to empower an ability. At your 1st back you will get Tiamat instead of a Jungle Item. It will give you a hand with both farming and ganking. When you get your R- Thrill of the Hunt at level 6 you won't need to hide in bush to jump on the enemy laner. This can happen only when it's casted.

Late Game
If Rengar dominates in Early Game he can easily One Shot squishy enemies and others that fall off in Late Game but the only problem with him is that he is squishy so he can also die easily. A correct use of R- Thrill of the Hunt allows you to jump on your target without using bush so you will easily have the chance to approach them thanks to its invisibility and MS buff. A use of an empowered W- Battle Roar can free you from any CC that tries to stop you and restores the half of the missing HP in the last 1.5 secs. The only way to increase your maximum damage with your Passive- Unseen Predator can be only when you are playing against Kha'Zix. It's risky because as soon as one of them scores a takedown on each other when the mission The Hunt Is On! is taken there's no 2nd chance.
In Conclusion
That's it for my Rengar guide. I hope it helped you improve. If you want, feel free to ask me any questions by commenting and don't forget to vote!
