Introduction

See my first clear guide here:
Hecarims clear time is really fast, once you have spirit of the elder lizard you will be clearing camps in no time.

As Hecarim it's your job to engage on the most important enemies in a team fight or disengage the enemy from your team mates if the enemies engage first, for example if a Vi ulti's your Ashe then try to ult the rest of her team away from her so she is alone vs the rest of your team.

During ganks you want to try and get behind the enemy while charging so you can knock them towards your team mate in lane giving an easier kill, combining ulti with this is awesome if you can land on the other side of the enemy (your ulti knocks the enemy away from you so try to land in front of them if they're running away) then right click them while E is still activated.

I'm currently Gold I and about 1900 Elo. I believe this is the strongest setup for Hecarim and it's carried me and my team in a **** load of games.

Smiteless Route

If you can get a smiteless pull, you'll want to start at whichever buff is at the bottom of the map after doing the wolves or wraiths first then rush straight to the other buff camp after you've already done red/blue and kill it with smite and you should be level 3.

If you do this then take your E at level 3 and rush straight to top lane after you finished the 2 buff camps (skip all other camps except the wolves or wraiths camps which you started on)

If you do this MAKE SURE your team doesn't take the big wolf/wraith xp otherwise you will be 1 creep away from level 3, it's fine if they take the xp from the small dogs or wolves but the big one is important.

Be prepared for a counter gank from the enemy jungler. Most junglers nowadays do a smiteless pull so they will probably have the same idea as you, it's sometimes a good idea to wait in the river bush by top lane for the enemy jungler to come and then surprise gank him with your top laner.

Runes

These are the best rune setup for transitioning from the jungle into mid-game.

Flat AD/Attack speed marks or quints will clear your jungle a bit faster but they gimp you later in the game and armor penetration helps your Q damage A LOT. I recommend you keep these runes.

Masteries

Hecarim is a versatile jungler and can run any mastery setup but 21-9-0 seems to work out the best for me.

The combination of the extra armor pen, cooldown reduction and minion damage reflection makes your jungling just that much easier.

Items

This build has always given me the best results. My general build is Spirit stone > Elder Lizard > Sunfire > Tabi > Locket > Spirit Visage.

I'll change this build up a bit if the enemy team has heavy CC/AP. I'll probably get merc treads and rush spirit visage after sunfire cape, or maybe even get a warmogs in there.

If you're vs an almost full AD team then I recommend going Sunfire Randuins Thornmail. You'll be untouchable and still destroy those squishy ap carries.

Skill Sequence

Q is your bread and butter. This skill should always be maxed first as it does a serious amount of aoe damage and will help you win in a duel vs nearly any jungler at any point of the game.

I max W second because it adds to my aoe damage and makes you tankier, you CAN max E second though if you feel like you would prefer that lower cooldown for using charge more often in mid game.

Spells

Standard smite and flash. Some people take ghost but I don't like being stuck on the other side of a wall after the enemy flashed over it so I stay clear of ghost.

It all depends on what you prefer, both spells have their advantages.

Summary

Hecarim is a great jungler and I recommend him to anybody, he's extremely versatile, clears camps fast, decent ganks pre 6 and probably the best ganks after.

If you're looking for a good jungler to climb divisions in ranked then this pony is the ride you want.
