Introduction

Sup guys. This Talon guide is made to inform everyone on how an assassin like Talon can make comebacks in even the toughest of situations. With these masteries, runes, and build, Talon can deal tons of damage (*insert reference to phreak*). My in-game name is PerilousFear. Have fun :)

Talon's Potential

Although I recently bought Talon, I have won the first 8 games I played with him. See for yourself:

Runes

Greater Mark of Desolation I use these marks as they greatly help me destroy any person I find. These can be altered with Greater Mark of Attack Damage but those are the only two that should be used.

Greater Seal of Armor I use these seals so my lane sustain can be decent, and I don't have to worry about building much more armor.

Greater Glyph of Magic Resist I use these flat magic resist glyphs for the same reason I use flat armor seals: better sustain, less worrying about building it.

Greater Quintessence of Desolation Again, these can be altered with Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage but they both give Talon a boost of damage which can always assist him in winning unwanted ganks.

Masteries

This is my mastery tree for standard AD carries. Going 21/9/0 ensures lots of damage, with a good amount of defense when needed. Here are a few in-depth:

Brute Force This gives an attack damage boost which can help, as the Runes only cover armor penetration in terms of offensiveness.

Weapon Expertise Continuing with my love for armor penetration, this gives a great amount of it which is needed for any assassin. In the event that a Malphite is seemingly escaping with 80 health, Talon's ready to jump with a Cutthroat and Rake away his health.

Lethality Making approximately 1 out of every 10 kills critically strike, this can randomly grant happiness to Talon players. Works well with Infinity Edge and Youmuu's Ghostblade

Executioner This is a must for any AD player, as it will help quickly kill the targets who have dropped low and focus on the big ones.

Items

Always start off with Doran's Blade as it provides the best lane sustain. For all the Talon players who currently go with boots and three health potions, don't worry--we'll pick them up later. I just find that to be a slow start and unproductive in starting the laning process.

Continue the lane with Boots and two Health Potions, as it provides a good amount of speed and even better sustain. If your lane is doing exceptionally well and you're expecting ganks, your health potions can help you out.

If you're doing well in lane, go ahead and grab some Mercury's Treads to have the Tenacity when it comes to annoying CC. If not, then grab the Cloak which can eventually build up to it. If they have all AD players or 4 AD and 1 AP, then switch in for Ninja Tabi

Bloodthirster is a MUST for Talon. I cannot stress the importance of this, as it makes Talon a BEAST. After the Mercury's Treads, go get a vampiric scepter. If you have 1650 or close to it, go ahead and grab a B. F. Sword. Which ever way it is, any Talon's ultimate goal is to get this.

At this point, you should have a good amount of kills, especially with the bloothirster. You're next order of business is to get a Frozen Mallet Start by purchasing Phage, then continue for the Giant's Belt. This will help Talon sustain in the upcoming teamfights and simultaneously give him the upper hand from its occasional slow.

Youmuu's Ghostblade is an item that, to be honest, I have NEVER bought for any character. When I experimentally bought it for Talon, I have never found a better item for Talon. It gives him more of a critical chance strike, armor penetration (thing for pros), and cooldown reduction for his abilities. Since Talon's ultimate already has a pretty low cd, picking this item will make it available for almost every gank, not just team fight.

Infinity Edge adds on even more greatness to Talon. More attack damage and critical strike chance is always beneficial.

If you haven't won the game (or lost, which is less likely if this is followed), then grabbing Black Cleaver should definitely increase your DPS for the game-winning kills.

Skill Sequence

Initially starting with Rake can help when getting into a bush in the beginning of a game. With damage and slow affecting multiple targets, escaping as well as damaging prevents you from a bad start.

Putting a second point in Cutthroat is when Talon should start getting aggressive. Blink on to an enemy, Rake, and a few basic attacks for some damage, maybe even a kill if the target is low.

The third point in Noxian Diplomacy ensures the extra damage for kills early-on. The bleed effect it applies can help secure them, or make them retreat. Either way, several combos with these three abilities make Talon powerful at level 3.

At level 6, picking up Shadow Assault will give Talon an item which can gain instant kills in combos. If he is being ganked by several people, pop his ultimate and retreat to your turret. Surprisingly, this may pick up a kill or two on your way there/if they decide to dive.

Continuing with the skill sequence shown above, Talon can gain even more strength to dwindle his opponents to their death/retreat.

Summoner Spells

BEST SUMMONER SPELLS:

Ghost This can have chemistry with Talon's ultimate, giving him even more movement speed to kill/fall back. Also, speed in catching opponents in general is always wanted, and ghost gives it.

Ignite This can go well with the bleed from Noxian Diplomacy or just a helpful tool in dropping an enemy if they think they can escape (although nobody can escape Talon).

VIABLE SUMMONER SPELLS:

Flash Another escape tool which can always help escape from large ganks/times of trouble. Catching up in early fights is also a good use of this. The only reason I don't pick it is because ghost can give speed over time, which I can use in more cases than this.

Exhaust An extra item to help take down enemies. This can go with right after your Rake if the enemy is attempting to escape.

BAD SUMMONER SPELLS:

Heal It might be able to help in team fights, but with a capped bloodthirster/with the help of supports/your ultimate, other spells take precedence over this.

Clarity Even though Talon runs low on mana often, this should never be taken over the other spells.

REALLY BAD SUMMONER SPELLS:

The ones I have not mentioned are either useless on Talon or never come into effective usage for his role as an assassin, which include Clairvoyance and Surge
