Runes

Again, pretty standard for an ADC. If you want a more sustained lane phase, you can switch the Quints over to

Runes

So, here comes where most people start going what they prefer. I personally like to run

The main reason i started liking

A

There are also other viable Spells pick such as:

Here it comes. If i could ask you to read one chapter, it would be this one. This will explain how you will - literally - P3WNS team fights...
But first, lets have a look at our skills:
First of all, the whole idea of this build is your team fights. For this reason, you max out your E and then your W. This will allow you:
Varus the perfect champion for team fights:
About the
:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But first, lets have a look at our skills:
-
Living Vengeance (Passive): Each time you assist or kill an enemy, you gain attack speed (20% if creep, 40% if champion);
-
Piercing Shot (Q): Shots a piercing arrow with a longer range as longer as you keep pressing it. Consumes your Blight to deal % hp damage;
-
Blighted Quiver (W): Blights your arrows, dealing extra magic damage, and stacking Blight that can be consumed to deal % hp damage;
-
Hail of Arrows (E): Shots a hail of arrows that will blight a small area where it lands, and slow enemies inside it; Also consumes Blight to deal % hp damage;
-
Chain of Corruption (Q): A skillshot Ult, that roots the main target and spreads the damage to nearby enemies rooting them. Useful to both start and flee from team fights.
First of all, the whole idea of this build is your team fights. For this reason, you max out your E and then your W. This will allow you:
- Keep you enemies slowed at most part of the time;
- Infect them with Blight in a few shots;
- Deal HUGE amounts of damage consuming the Blights with your Q and E.
- The
Blade of the Ruined King deals % life as damage;
- Your
Runaan's Hurricane will apply your Blight even faster and also chop down life with it's passive and the
Blade of the Ruined King combined;
- The more enemies with Blight, the more you will shine in team Fights exploding them with your Qs and Es.
About the
- Use your ult to chain your team CC, to prevent anyone on the opposite team to disengage, or to start the engage into someone;
- You can also use it if you are being chased to gain a little terrain and try to survive to fight another day, but beware of champions with Gap Closers like
Shen,
Graves,
Ezreal and others.
Now let's have a look at our items:
Now that you know what every item does, lets put it all together:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
Blade of the Ruined King: AD, AS, Life Steal, %HP Damage... All this PASSIVE. Add an Active 15% damage AND 15% Life Steal AND a 30% Slow... In this new Season 3 Meta, this item will make your
Varus a GOD.
-
Runaan's Hurricane: A hell of Attack Speed with a nice passive: Each of your auto attacks will shot another 2 arrows dealing 80% damage and applying your "on-hit" abilities. Now here is sh*t gets real. Picture 3 auto attacks with a hell of a spell, dealing % damage with your lovely
Blade of the Ruined King and also applying your Blight. What else can you want? Why have you not bought this item yet?
-
Infinity Edge: Huge Damage, Crit Chance to deal even more damage, and your Crits will deal even more Damage. Damage + Damage + Damage. Is there any reason to an AD not to pic this?
-
The Bloodthirster: Damage and life steal, both increasing every time you kill a creep to a max cap of 30 stacks. HUGE amount of damage and sustain on fights, a good synergy with all your other items.
-
Last Whisper: All your damages will ignore 35% of our targets armor. Plus adds a little damage, after all, you always wants more damage than you already have.
-
Guardian Angel: Your "coin to the boatman" card. If you die, you will respawn a few seconds later to deal even more damage.
-
Berserker's Greaves: A standard ADC boot with a nice Movement Speed and a little Attack Speed.
Now that you know what every item does, lets put it all together:
- As an ADC, the thing you do most is Auto Attack. This said, all the Attack Damage from your items will give a nice damage on your Auto Attacks.
- Now that you have all this lovely damage flowing from your hands, picture if you can add more damage. With your
Blade of the Ruined King, you will be dealing damage in % hp. The more HP your target have, the more damage you will put on him. And remember: This Damage is dealt COMBINED with your auto attack damage, not ONLY, so now you have practically twice the damage you had.
- Now, if you weren't scary enough hitting like a meteor, picture you hitting 3 targets instead of one. I know, crazy right? Well, your
Runaan's Hurricane do this for you.
- Still not convinced? What if a told you that all your damage is ignoring 35% of that perky tank inf front of you? Well, thank your
Last Whisper for it.
- Now, have you died? Well, i said you should look again. After all, you are a zombie with your
Guardian Angel

Well the beginning of a game is pretty standard for most of the ADCs.
This should be enough for you to do well late game, when things start to get real, and you can shine with your true potential.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- Farm like a boss: learn how to last hit.
- Harass when you can:
Varus is a good harasser with his Q and his E.
- Keep your eyes open for ganks: In the Bot Lane, a ward in the Dragon's Pit can work wonders.
- Keep you health up: Try to always be with more than 50% hp.
This should be enough for you to do well late game, when things start to get real, and you can shine with your true potential.
The way you should look at your
Varus is this: Picture a Machine Gun being hold by a Paper Toy. Now, i need you to keep 2 things in mind:
With those things in mind, you need to know that they will do ANYTHING to close the gap to you, and kill you ASAP. For that, i have a few hints:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

- If they catch you, you WILL be dead.
- If ther don't, THEY will be dead.
With those things in mind, you need to know that they will do ANYTHING to close the gap to you, and kill you ASAP. For that, i have a few hints:
- Be the last on to engage into a team fight, and chose live and run instead of staying and die.
- Don't be afraid to use you summoner's spells and all of your skills to run OR to chase (if the situation say so)
- A 1/0 person is more important to it's team that a 5/6 one, so play safe, and feel the motion of the flow.

Well folks, this it it. It's a pretty simple guide, but i hope you all enjoy. I can't stress enough that this is the way i play, and i like it so. If you have any doubt, or any request, or i did some English mistake (not my main language), please, feel free to reply. To finish, a special thanks to Dinélix, my girlfriend, for introducing me to the game and helping me to become a better LoL player, and to SoniqVision for the patience as i progress through the game ^^.
That's all folks!
