His Passive and poke hurt early game, but late is when you (and team) can crush him
A bigger bully in lane, try and freeze lane right before it goes into your tower
Her insane poke and huge damage will hurt throughout the game. Ask jung for frequent help
He is fighting Satan. (But on a real note, farm under tower and ask jung for help)

Dont use your Q until he slows you and make sure to deny farm and dont let it get under his tower.
Use W before his counter strike, Use Q and E to force him out of lane. And try to leave lane as little as possible.
Dont waste your R until she wastes her, and try to force her out of lane. She will bully with her ranged ability so be aware.
If you can bully her with Q at any moment DO IT. DONT GET HER AHEAD OR ELSE YOU WILL NOT REGAIN LANE.
Avoid the barrels and try to force him out. This could be even
Only engadge once his W is wasted, and keep an eye on his courage meter. USE YOUR R ONCE HE IS DISMOUNTED.
You can silence her to make her damage weak and since you can avoid her W with the movement from Pred and Q its useless.
He will bully you in lane but it is more manageable. Try and force him to over extend to have a secured kill with your jungs' gank
You both have alot of sustain to keep yourselves in lane so its a more skill matchup
Have Jung Camp lane, use W before Stuns, ect.
Should be easy just avoid his knock up
His mobility and crits will be a problem so try and farm under tower and if he dives Q him then run around tower.

Avoid knock up and silence him before he does you
Q her and harass in lane, dont give her breathing room

When Activated you get a burst of MS and will deal bonus damage+ Silence the next oppenent hit with it. If you are under a slow/most CC it will free you from it. This ability can expire.
That is the ability. You want to use this for the combo mentioned earlier but for a quick recap
-Spend half the time hurting the enemy and the other half to damage them if they pursue you as you back up.
This is also your escape tool since the MS gives you a chance to escape.
W-Courage:Once you activate this for the Next .75 sec you negate 60% of incoming damage and for the remaining seconds (2-6 depending on its level) you negate 30% of incoming damage.
I went into this on the ability's portion but to recap you use it for Diving, Surviving Ganks, Team fights, and Going all into your opponent (HA! Only those who actually read will now this secret one I left out earlier. HEHEHE!)
Diving: Time it so you can basicly ignore the first tower shot (ONLY DO THIS IF YOUR R IS UP OR YOU CAN KILL THEM OFF) If they are low) and finish off your opponent. I would recommend using your minion wave to push up so you can get inside the turret and Q your laner so you can get more damage off and take less damage.
Surviving: If you are ganked pop this to negate/reduce Cc and Damage and then use your Q to escape. If needed pop off your Predator once you take a tower so that your escape is guaranteed.
Team Fights: Once the burst's on the enemy team pop all their ability's off use it to ignore most of it and also to remain in the fight.
All in's: If you and your Melee opponent are going to pop everything USE THIS TO NEGATE THEIR BIGGEST DAMAGE ABILITY. Timing is key for the ability
E-Judgement (Spin 2 Win) This is a more so disputed ability. The reason I dont recommend leveling it first is because it messes up your enemy minion wave and could dislodge it. This ability Will reduce the enemy's armor and do "alota damage"-Phil Swift. If you are going to all into your opponent. A thing to note is that this ability will let you gor though Minions and you can use Q while spinning to hide it and possibly surprise your enemy.
Predator- Removes Need for Teleport and can help close gaps when needed
Cheap Shot- His Silence counts as a impaired action so its basicly free True Damage with the combo
Eyeball Collection- The other 2 don't really help in a fight and considering the amount of executes you will get from your ult it allows for some bonus damage
Ultimate Hunter- Your ult will be up 15% faster allowing for more frequent executes
Conditioning- More Tank Stats
Overgrowth- More Bonus health for killing minions, helps get you a bigger health bar
Im going to keep this brief since I have spent the past few hours working on this
Garen has at the very least Decent matchups with Melee only champs (im looking at you Pant and Kayle </3) (a notable exception to the Melee champs would be Aatrox and Yasuo)
Where he struggles is the ranged portion, these include Gangplank, Kayle, Teemo, (the rare) Lucian, Illaoi.
Since he will most likely get kited by players who know this weakness I would recommend getting the lane right before tower to keep a safe farm. Ask Jungler for frequent ganks in this scenario
Desert Trooper should only be used if Azir is in the match
Commando is do do
Dreadknight is alright
Rugged is 10/10 would smash
Steel Legion is knock off space marine
Rouge Admiral should be used, use Gangplank if you want to be a pirate
Warring Kingdoms should only be used if you played Dynasty warriors (8 and below, not 9. 9 is do do)
God King Garen- The Only Skin You need, first thing you do once you load in is to say in all chat "CEASE YOUR HERESY, Or be purged"
