The Ballad of Jhin

By IM NOT TOXIC
Choosing the Correct Runes
Jhin's lane phase can either be very exciting or painful. The first step to approaching your lane phase is choosing the correct rune set. Into botlane matchups where you seem confident i.e squishy champs, Dark Harvest is generally going to be a better option to help you abuse more. However, into comps you are unsure about, Fleet Footwork is a very safe option. Fleet will provide you with a better lane phase than Dark Harvest, but will not scale as hard as Dark Harvest will.
Supports and You
One of the most important functions as an ADC play is to understand how to approach a botlane matchup. Jhin typically will require an engage/tank support to abuse his potential, but enchanters can work well with Jhin.
When playing with an engage support, i.e Leona or Alistar, it's ideal to make sure that they are in front of you and you are parallel to them. Being able to win fights in lane is based around either you being able to pick someone with a W, or your support finding a good engage that you can follow on with your W.
If you're playing with an enchanter like Lulu or Nami, you're going to want to abuse your fourth shot as well as effectively utilizing your Q. Your fourth shot should be seen as abusive, and your opposition botlane will see it as such. They will back off from you with it ready and it can also be used to prevent them from farm. Trading should be seen as more effective with enchanters because generally they are able to shield/heal you, as compared to the all-ins of engage supports.
Poke champs, such as Xerath or Lux, should be allowed to do their job before any action on your side is taken. One of the best parts of playing with poke champs is that your W is able to be cast more easily. Ideally with a poke champ, let them do their work and do some damage, then capitalize on one of their pokes with your W.
How'd Your Lane Go?
Jhin is incredibly hard to play from behind, and needs to be able to snowball to deal immense damage. If Jhin's behind and he can't hit like a truck, Jhin is going to be useless. However, the one thing that will not fall behind in Jhin's kit is the power and potential of Jhin's W. Being able to create effective picks with his W is going to create huge opportunities in the game. Jhin should always end the game with a high assist tally, because of how easy it becomes to get these picks.
Tips and Tricks
-Jhin's E is a great tool for using on stunned items, as well as for kiting. Also, it's a smart idea to put traps at the entrance of your lane to delay/prevent ganks.
-Jhin's reload animation can be reset by any of Jhin's abilities. Use this to save your fourth shot for when you'll need it.
-Always be wary of your shot counter.
-Flash Q Fourth shot is a great lane executioner for low health champs.
-Jhin's ultimate will do more damage the lower the health of the champions, so make sure to pick your targets wisely based on health percentage. Jhin's ult on a full health champion will do very little damage.
Closing Thoughts
Jhin is an incredibly fun champion with great potential. I promise you that he is immensely fun to play and won't become boring after a bunch of games. Adding Jhin to your arsenal is smart, as with the right team comp he puts on a real show.
I'll be continually updating the guide as the patches come as well as add more detail into some descriptions.
