About Thresh

![]() |
Thresh is a tanky utility based Support. He has great control in lane and can pull enemy champions apart. Collecting souls is essential to Thresh's survivability, However, you shouldn't feel the need to use your lantern to farm souls. Thresh great at being all in and harassing through minion waves with your AA and ![]() Thresh is a great Meatshield for your ADC, exceptions do apply for Caitlyn and other penetrative enemy champions. |

Heavy Meat Shield
Building Thresh this way allows you to take hits from the enemy adc while giving you time to plan your offence and position yourself correctly.
This is a full on take a beating build. You will be getting attacked a lot and this requires to ability to judge and understand when you should run. Here is an image of how I judge how long till I have to run, after building my final build.

Pros
|
|
+ Great for Utility + Amazing Sustain + Able to setup double kills easily + Easy to tank enemy adc focus + easy to use after a few games |
Cons
|
|
- Extremely hard to master - Requires common sense - Armour Pen can hurt. ![]() - Mediocre late game - Cooldown issues |
Team work is a REALLY important part of Thresh. His utility is pointless without the right synergy. Unlike Leona, Thresh hasn't got the ability to scare the opponent by going all in, so only specific champions work well.
From experience I work worked best with the following (In order of best to worst):

Core Spells:
I have a wide set of spells I like to choose but the main one is
Teleport.
Teleport:
Late season 3 taught me that Teleport is a VERY good spell to have as a support. You can access lane quicker, jump across map to help other lanes if your adc is fed and can save turrets by simply having your presence around (Especially good for mid lane).
Since Season 4 has started I've noticed getting back on lane is a LOT more important if you use
Ancient Coin.
Exhaust:
The reason I use exhaust is because it provides a few different strategies. You can lock onto one enemy champion and focus them + Exhaust OR you can dive the ADC with your
Death Sentence and exhaust the support so after the ADC is down you can go for the support.
Tip: If both the ADC and Support are in range of using
Flay you can delay the time to use exhaust so it's more effective
OR
Flash:
Flash is one of the other options I can often pick. The reason behind this is all of Threshs skills can be used WITH flash, after the patch
Death Sentence can no longer be used with Flash. However it can be used to position you in such a way that the enemy can panic OR get hit by your hooks (With practice).
Tip: A tactic I often use when being ganked is to wait for the dive from
Kha'Zix,
Xin Zhao,
Lee Sin etc and
Flay back after they've made contact. Flash away after to secure more distance.

Warding is VERY important, with the use of trinkets you can pretty much dominate lanes. Personally I like the
Oracle's Lens as you can really take advantage of dipping in and out of the bushes.
These are the more important ward placements, for river bush I try my best to ward as close to the edge of the bush as possible so that I have maximum vision.
