Playing against bell boy will be pretty annoying, but nothing too bad. Make sure not to position yourself near walls, and poke him with W if he walks up to auto you. Step on his pathetic shrines to make him suffer.
Tank supports can't do much to Brand if they can't grab you. Stay behind minions all the time and poke Blitzcrank out with W.
Just like with Blitzcrank, stay behind minions at all costs and poke out Nautilus with W.
This thot is a poke lord. Stay behind minions and away from bushes. Out-range her and burst her before she bursts you. An E Q combo should do the trick.
This is not a support. This is an assassin. Pyke slams on squishies, and you're a squishy. A must-ban champion. Be wary of bushes, and stay close to minions. Poke when possible. Try not to engage him when he has ult. You can use Oracle Lens to locate him when he uses W nearby you.
Watch out for his Q, as he can stun you if he puts two bombs on top of you. Try not to kill someone with Zilean R on them, as they will revive with more health.
The skill of a Braum player will determine how well the matchup will go for you. Don't try to stun when his E is up. Hide behind minions and stay within E range to dodge his ult.
This little fricker is annoying as balls. Fiddlestick's E silences you, so stay a good distance away from minions and your ADC to prevent the E from bouncing to you and your ADC. Ward bushes and stay away from them, as he will ambush you with ult. He is really squishy, so poke him out.
Never will you see a good Alistar that can beat you. Poke the life out of him, and stay out of his range.
Zyra is amazing with her CC. Stay out of her range and poke her down. Make sure to book it when she puts down her R.
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH No, seriously. She's awful. You only need to hit one person. Why are you bothering to read this?
He builds MR?! What?! Go for Void Staff when you can, and stay away from Galio. If you're not in his E range, you can just bully him. Make sure to E Q him if he dashes into you.
Brand, but more supporty. Watch out for Janna's tornados. If she walks up to W you, punish her with your W. She is the squishiest being known to man, so stop crying when she W's you for the tenth time.
Brand but really long skill shots. Stand close to minions, and dodge the Q. Poke him down. A good player will dodge every bit of his ability damage.
As annoying as he is, countering Thresh is the same difficulty as the other tank supports. Stand behind minions and poke him a lot.
REEEEEEE As she pelts you with auto attacks, beat her up with your abilities and punish her engages. Not much you can do about her ult, so stay away from her and focus the ADC at all times.
Another skill matchup. You dodge her kit, free lane. You get hit by a single Q, "ff @ 15." Standing a little bit far behind minions helps. Poke her squishy broken-ass down with W.
If you use your brain and not stand next to bushes or get close to him, you'll be fine. The only good thing for engages in his kit is his W... and his R, sometimes. Wack him up, baby.
I don't like this guy. His W will slow you down, so dodge what you can and punish with your W.
Unlike other mid laners that go to the support lane because they do damage, Veigar DOES NOT work. You can't prove me wrong (just an opinion lol calm down). Bait out his E and poke him down with W.
Too easy. Don't get hit by his Q, and poke him with W.
HER HEALS MAN She IS aggravating, as her heals with unsecure your kills. Poke her down, and dodge her Q and E.
Literally dodge her Q. That's it. Just Kidding. Stand behind minions, don't focus the person she shields, and don't stay in her ult. Also dodge the Q. Dummy.
Pretty aggrivating honestly. Watch out for her Q, and stay away from her W. Poke her out, as she is squishy.
PLEASE LORD WHY Stay away from her E and don't get ulted. If you need to, grab a Stopwatch and use a stopwatch when she ults.
His R is no fun for you. Stay away from him as he can stun you with E, and don't engage when he casts his R. Poke him out as usual.
*sobbing* Whatever you do, don't get E'd or your life is forfeit. Stay out of its range and poke her with W. If she E's, you WILL get stunned to death.
This squishy woman won't do anything. Also, Sona is the squishiest woman alive, so poke her down like it's no one's business. Watch out for her ult at level 6 and be ready to dodge it.
What is he gonna do, run at you? Poke him all the time, because he's so useless it's not funny.
Same situation as Volibear. Don't hang around walls. Poke her with W, and watch out for her ult.
Yes, he's annoying. Yes, he's thicc. But what is he gonna do? Hide behind minions to dodge his Q. Don't even bother poking him besides auto attacking for support item gold.
The scariest thing is his ult. Make sure to take one for the boys and get hit by a segment of the ult so the ADC behind you can make it safetly home. Don't go into the bushes, and just poke him.

Pros & Cons
Who am I?
I'm currently a hardstuck braindead low-elo silver player. However, Brand is by far my favorite mage in the entire game. I play a **** ton of this guy, but I'm not exactly qualified, so take my advice with a grain of salt if you must. I've been playing since September 2017, but I picked up Brand since early 2019 and I fell in love with him since (no ****).
Make sure to read the "Notes" of the items and builds up above, as I put some pretty useful content up there. Also, I'm not the top 1 player of Brand, so if I mess up this quide somehow, please let me know.
Also, hover over the name of highlighted items, runes, abilities, etc. to get more information about it. The main purpose of this guide is to make sure you as the reader understand how to actually play this champ.
Really stupid damage. Like, this man is busted without a doubt. Free kills like you won't believe. Because you're a mage, you can poke extremely well. Your ult works in bot lane so well because you can focus two people at once, especially when you use ult and proc your time bomb passive to do massive AOE damage.
Since he's a burst mage, he's very squishy. You get caught out, you die. Positioning is key. Position yourself in a way that allows you to hit abilities whilst being able to dodge enemy abilities at the same time.
Why should I play Brand?
Brand is BY FAR the best carry mage support you will see in your life. Until Riot comes out with some other ********. Brand deals a lot of damage, has an easy to set up stun, and provides good slows and AOE damage for your team. He's stupidly strong in low elo, and is simple to pick up and play, making him easy to climb with.
Dark Harvest: Dark Harvest is so damn easy to proc on Brand because of his passive, Blaze. It allows Brand to one-shot late game very easily. This is a must take, especially if you have an aggressive playstyle. Arcane Comet is okay but doesn't cover Brand's late game, since he tends to fall off if he is not super fed. Dark Harvest allows Brand to scale into the mid game and late game seamlessly.
Cheap Shot: Cheap Shot will be procced by Brand's stun from his Q, Sear and Brand's slow from his R, Pyroclasm
Eyeball Collection: You kill people and wards, and you get free AP. Pretty simple, right? Another good alternative is to get Zombie Ward if the lane is going to be hard to get kills from, like going against Morgana and Nami. A=
Ultimate Hunter: I prefer this over Ravenous Hunter because Brand does not need healing at all, and having his ult in every fight is ridiculously helpful.
Manaflow Band: Brand already has a nice mana pool, and Manaflow Band makes sure you never run out of mana ever.
Scorch: You know how Brand secures kills by burning people alive for 100k damage with Blaze? This is the icing on the cake. And yes, it procs Dark Harvest.
Adaptive Force: DAMAGE
Adaptive Force: MORE DAMAGE
Defense: Helps to reduce damage from the enemy ADC. Defense is better than Health in the early game, which you excel at. If you want, take Magic Resist if the enemy bot lane deals a lot of magic damage.
Frostfang: Your support item. It's a really good item on Brand for its AP, CDR and base mana regen. If you're thinking about getting Relic Shield, DON'T. You are wasting gold and time, as Brand can upgrade Spellthief's by 10 minutes easily.
Liandry's Torment: One of the must-build items on Brand, Liandry's Anguish gives damage to Brand the longer he's in combat (up to 10% after five seconds. Also, it does % health DoT (damage over time) burn damage, so it's good against health tanks too.
Rylai's Crystal Scepter: Another staple item for Brand, Rylai's Crystal Scepter slows enemies down when Brand hits them with abilities, which is really good when combined with Brand's ultimate, Pyroclasm. Having Rylai's makes it so much easier for Brand to hit abilities, so make sure this is your 2nd full item.
Void Staff: Build Void Staff when one or more enemies who are fed build magic resist.
Morellonomicon: Called "Morello's" by the cool kids, Morellonomicon is built when someone on the enemy team has a lot of healing, such as Soraka and Sona. It's also great to burst squishies with the magic penetration.
Zhonya's Hourglass: When the enemy has a lot of physical damage and has burst ability like Zed's R Death Mark, build Zhonya's Hourglass.
Rabadon's Deathcap I HIGHLY recommend building this item as your 3rd, or latest 4th item. Having that much raw AP on Brand is priceless, and can help Brand close out games.
Luden's Echo Luden's Tempest is a great item to build item to Brand. Altough it's not optimal over Liandry's, it is fine to build.
Banshee's Veil: You should build Banshee's Veil if one or more enemy champs have a lot of magic damage.
Twin Shadows: You got some slippery boys who won't stay put? Build Twin Shadows and the enemy won't move again. You would incorporate this item into a Glacial Augment build.
Hextech GLP-800 Everfrost is virtually the same as Twin Shadows, but shoots projectiles similar to Hextech Rocketbelt. You would put this item in a Glacial Augment build.
Flash: You NEED this spell. You will not do well without Flash. This spell is mandatory on every single champion. This spell allows the player to instantly dash a short distance. Flash can used to close gaps and kill an enemy champ, run away from an enemy champ, or go over walls.
Ignite: This is your usual secondary summoner spell. It secures kills for you more than your passive early game, and reduces healing from champs like Soraka and Nami.
Exhaust Take Exhaust if the enemy ADC is very strong and is hitting their power spike early game, or if they have high burst damage such as Zed, Master Yi, and Katarina.
(W) Pillar of Flame: "After a short delay, Brand creates a Pillar of Flame at a location, dealing 75/120/165/210/255 (+60% Ability Power) magic damage to enemies.
Blaze: Units that are ablaze take an additional 25% damage from Pillar of Flame."
EXPLANATION: Brand makes a circle on the ground. After a small delay, it does damage in a small area. If the target is ablaze, they take 25% more damage from your W.
TIPS/DISCUSSION: Pillar of Flame is your main poke tool, as you can hit the enemy bot lane behind minions and hit both champions with the ability. It's also the 2nd most damaging ability in Brand's kit, besides his ultimate.
(E) Conflagration: "Brand conjures a powerful blast at his target, dealing 70/95/120/145/170 (+45% Ability Power) magic damage.
Blaze: If the target is ablaze, Conflagration spreads to nearby enemies."
EXPLANATION: Upon pressing E, Brand explodes the enemy for instant damage. If the enemy is abalze, Conflagration's damage and Blaze spreads to all other enemies in a small area around the target.
TIPS/DISCUSSION: A great ability that boost Brand's AOE damage. Works great when used with Brand's R.
(Ultimate) Pyroclasm: "Brand unleashes a devastating torrent of fire, dealing 100/200/300 (+25% Ability Power) magic damage each time it bounces up to 5 bounces. Bounces prioritize stacking Blaze to max on Champions.
Blaze: If the target is ablaze, Pyroclasm will briefly slow the target by 30/45/60%."
EXPLANATION: You throw a fireball that bounces between enemies up to 5 times and deals magic damage. The fireball prioritizes enemies who are already ablaze. If the enemy is ablaze, Pyroclasm will slow them as well.
TIPS/DISCUSSION: Once you get Pyroclasm at level 6, look for an engage in lane. You should be able to get a pick with Brand's ult as long as both enemy laners are close to each other or one of them is close to enemy minions.
The Control Ward on top of the Stealth Ward means that either ward is good, but a Control Ward is preferred.
The blue circle represents the blue team, and the red circle represents the red team.
Deep warding the enemy jungle as a support is a great habit to make, as not only will you give your jungler information on where the enemy jungler is, but it will also protect you from unexpected ganks or dragon sneaks.
Early Game (AKA Laning Phase):
Make sure you have your W for level one. Before level 6, poke the enemy bot lane with W as much as you can. Be patient and don't put yourself at risk to hit them with your W. If the enemy bot lane tries to engage, stun them with an E( Conflagration}>Q Sear combo to instantly stun them, then hit them with a W( Pillar of Flame to finish your combo and proc your passive. Once you get your level 6, look to engage with your R( Pyroclasm). Use your R when your ADC is prepared to engage and the two enemy laners are nearby each other. Once you use your ult, use your other abilities to maximize your damage, and Ignite the enemy who you are certain you can kill. You should be able to get a kill with your R sometime in the laning phase. Make sure to take whatever drake is available, as Brand is good with taking drakes as well as stealing them. Always have vision in baron pit and the bot lane river bush.
You should have taken or lost a tower, or the game has reached the 15-minute mark. Now is the time to roam. Ward objectives, and help the other laners to secure kills and towers. Coordinate with your team to secure a drake and baron nashor . Poke out anyone who attempts to poke or make an engage with a W or E, then stun them with Q and finish the combo.
Have the same vision mindset as mid game - have a lot of it. Now you should be pushing a lane that has a minion wave closest to the enemy base. Once again, coordinate with your team to take drake and baron nashor , take towers, destroy the enemy base, and win the game. It's really that simple. Just make sure your team doesn't int.
- Mute the people who're typing ruin your game. If someone is being toxic on your team, their team, or both, mute them. If a lot of people are being toxic and/or irritating, mute all of them. The commands that you can use to do so are "/mute @(their champion's name)" and "/mute all," respectively.
- Play safe, even if it means you'll get yelled at for it. I don't mean be a *****, but if your ADC runs headfirst into an impossible fight, don't go in. Tell them nicely to back off, and ping danger. It's okay for your teammates to die if they're stupid, as long as you don't do the same.
- Do NOT get greedy. If you greed for kills as Brand, you will be punished heavily by the enemy team. Play Brand a good number of times, know his limits and only make a risky play if you are 110% sure that it will work and it will benefit you. Don't risk dying for a kill if you have a shutdown. That's throwing, idiot.
- Don't give up. No matter what, any game is winnable. You're Brand. I got a pentakill even though we were severely losing. I mean, we still lost, BUT STILL.
- Don't be afraid to duo. Playing with a good ADC main who's your buddy will benefit you SO MUCH. While solo queue is a humungous coinflip, duo'ing is much better, as two people playing ADC and support can make a huge difference in the game, and definitely carry the team. I mean, I should know. I do it myself.
- Get good at a pocket pick support. Brand is a very popular support that is banned and picked a lot more than you think. Some champs that closely resemble Brand are Janna, Karma, and Sona, as they are all high-damage AP champs who are all squishy.
- Don't play ranked on a losing streak. If you lose twice in a row, take a break for about half an hour or an hour or so, then keep playing. It makes all the difference, as playing tilted will only ruin your games.
- Talk to other support mains. This guide can only do so much, and talking with a human person that is good at support can tell you much more than I can type in a guide. They may also understand your weaknesses and will be able to fix those. TL;DR find some friends, loser.
