Not Updated For Current Season
This guide has not yet been updated for the current season. Please keep this in mind while reading. You can see the most recently updated guides on the browse guides page
It's fairly easy to lane againts him, he has little mobility so it's easy to land your stun, also he gets poked down a lot thanks to your expanded stars
Vayne
I wouldn't reccomend laning against her, since she can dodge your comet with a fairly amount of ease, also if she gets a hold of you, your chances of survival are very minimal, because you are very squishy early game and her 3-hit passive hurts a lot
Braum
Braum is perhaps one of the worst supports to lane against, he can engage and stun your carry thanks to his passive (but you can easly negate this with your stun), not only that but his shield completely blocks the comet, no matter how big it gets.
Jhin
He is not exactly that bad, but if he has an aggresive support he can easily snare you while your inside his Traps, also the fourth shot hurts a lot so try to avoid it everytime possible. Altough dangerous, it is fairly easy to stun him due to his low mobility (except when he has a Braum, of course)
Poppy
Just like Braum, Poppy is a Super Aggresive Support, Her Dash is super annoying, specially if she stuns you; not only that but (You should know this) hard crowd control completely disables your passive, that means your compelety at their mercy during the duration. Also her Steadfast Presence makes it harder for you to hit your stun. Altough this dangerous, if she fails her stun, she'll be out of position and completely vulnerable to your marksman
Sivir
Sivir isn't much of a problem, her Boomerang Blade is fairly easy to dodge, the Ricochet doesn't deal that much damage, and you comepletely deny her spellshield with your passive (when your trying to stun her or trying to block one of your marksman abilities), the only annoying thing about her is the mobility with her ultimate and passive making it harder to land your comet
Blitzcrank
Blitzcrank is that strange champion that can be godly or trashy depending on who (or what) plays it. He relies a lot on pulls, so to reach his maximium potencial is required a lot of mechanical skill and training, so during level 1,2 and 3 is where you'll see if their blitz really shines. If he catches you, your cahnces of survival are minimal, depending if their marksman is ready to respond and his position and due to your squishiness in the early game, you have very few options in terms of escaping
Jinx
Jinx isn't that bad to land against, her Zap! is fairly easy to dodge, you'll get caught in her Chompers! if you get hard cc or by pure stupidity. She will try to poke a lot with her rockets, and they do hurts a bit so be careful with that; not to worry, as she has no escapes, so it's fairly easy to land your stun (as long as she is doesn't zap you, gets undertower, recieves a thresh lantern or you get hard cc on your face). Also watch out for her ult too, it hurts a bit.
Leona
Leona is the queen of Crowd Control, almost every ability has some shape of it. Being squishy like you are, both you and your marksman are very susceptible to her Zenith Blade. She is a very aggresive support, so I would never recomend taking him against her, since she completely destroys you by being between you and your stars (your main weakness)
My name is Sioncup, I play on the Europe West server since the start of Season 1. I loved playing utility based mages ( Sorakaand Lux) and tanks ( Malphiteand Alistar). I played the beggining of Season 2 and came back in mid Season 3, after that I only play little season 4 and (finally!) came back again in mid Season 5 and i've continuing playing these types of champions ever since!
I fell in love with Aurelion Sol ever since he was teased, this due to him being a Dragon and being a Utility Mage Support-Kinda type. So 4 days after his release, I bought his bundle and started playing him as a Support.
This guide will not only give you tips about him, but how to play against every possible matchup you may find, but be wary, I only publish new matchups if I really know what I am talking about, so matchup like Taricor Galio may take a while to appear due to their low play rate.
But this is just the tip of the iceberg! I have many plans to this guide, but they will take time to get here, due to me having college and other activities.
It may not look like, but Aurelion Sol has the tools to be a monstrous support, Singularity not only gives vision threw walls, as it does help in ganks paired with Breath of Light, his Falling Star helps disengage and chunk enemies so your team can clean them up, your Cosmic Creator provides you with huge sustained damage, and paired with Rylai's applies a permaslow, making it easier to catch up with your opponents, Breath of Light also builds up infinitly, so you can surprise your enemies with a giant comet.
Cons
- Gets destroyed by assassins - Hard CC gets rid of his stars - Singularity has a high cooldown - Squishy early game - Sad Lore
Altough Aurelion Sol has an agrresive kit, he should whatch out for enemies trying to trade, as he is very vurnerable to burst damage, due to he's squishiness in the early game, so skillshot dodging is essential, specially if it's against a Blitzcrank, Thresh or Nautilus; not only that but at rank 1 Singularity has a 60 second cooldown, and if you enter in combat all the stacks that you had in it reset, making it even harder to escape. Also hard crowd control completely shut down his starts, wich is a vital part to his kit, and keep his survivability to a minimum.
