Introduction

Hello and welcome to a fun build for Skarner. It can work really well, but is not viable when compared to a normal build. Since it is free week Skarner, it is a perfect time to put up a new Skarner build since that is what everyone will be looking at. Do not expect this guide to be perfect, it is ONLY for fun purposes. If it is fun and you enjoy playing bots or custom games or trolling with this build, please up vote the guide.

This is not a jungle guide, thus no Smite.

The idea behind Troll Guide, is not to troll your team by going AFK, intentionally feeding, or trash-talking, but instead to build a champion in a non-normal way for fun and playing your hardest as though it were a legit build. Your only trolling is in your item build.

Runes & Masteries

I listed the best choices when going top. These will help you to survive and will give you the tankiness that you forgo in items. Obviously, Armor mark/quints against AD enemies and MR against magic enemies. The extra MS quints will help when trying to pull in an enemy with your ultimate.

Summoner Spells

Top Choices
Flash: Flash ult is one of Skarners specialities.
Exhaust: That fleeing enemy doesnt stand a chance. Make ganking easy for your jungle and maybe he will gank more often for you.
Teleport: You are a top lane champ, you never know when this could be helpful.
Next Best Choices
Ignite: Can be helpful depending on who you face up top.
Ghost: Not as good as Flash, you already have a MS steroid built in, so you dont NEED another one, but it couldnt hurt.
Heal: Cause you want to win lane and dont care about late game.

Just because your item build is troll, doesnt mean that your summoners have to be useless ones for skarner.
Revive, Smite as a top lane champ, Promote, Clarity, and Clairvoyance as a top lane champ.

Skill Sequence

Standard Skarner build for skills. If you think that something works better, by think I mean know for a fact, and can explain it, then please tell me and I will change the skill order.

Shattered Earth: First hit, AD based. Second hit and beyond AP based. Make sure that you have it up when you go into a fight. It will hit everyone very hard with all of your AP.
The reason behind this being maxed first is so that you can slow down the enemy when your jungler comes for a gank and will usually give higher DPS.
Seismic Bastion: You know how Skarner has a strong shield that when up give good stats... Well now his shield is impossible to destroy(600 rather than 250). It will be up for the full 6 seconds unless you get hardcore focused, in which case, your team probably cleaned up and you win.
The reason this is second to be maxed in both ways is because of the bonus MS and Shield. These become very useful mid game to travel the map faster and do more than you would be able to otherwise.
Ixtal's Impact: Your only form of sustain. It will keep you alive.
This is an option to max first if you want sustain over killing. Although it scales better and you dont have to hit an enemy once to get the damage that counts, it does not have as high of a DPS at any point in the game. It is your only form of sustain though, so you want to keep that in mind.
Impale: Everyone knows and fears Skarners ult.

Troll Build Items

Finally the part that is most important and actually makes the build troll. AP items on Skarner. Now he does have good scaling, spammable abilities, and other things that make AP good on him, but you would never go beyond a Sheen and a Hextech Gunblade normally since it is hard to get into the middle of a fight without dieing. Here are the items and you can build all the items in any order you want, as long as you get Sheen.

Boots of Swiftness: Fastest boots when in combat. Chasing with Q, and using ult to drag enemy is much easier.

Rod of Ages: Classic tanky AP item. It also builds from catalyst the protector which will help to reduce mana issues. The additional mana will help you to use your abilities more often.

Nashor's Tooth: This item will give you AS, AP, CDR. All of this is great on Skarner. The CDR from this will lower your shield to 10.5 and with Enlightenment you will be at 9.8 second CD. That means that with only a few attacks, you can keep your shield up permanently.

Rylai's Crystal Scepter: Another tanky AP item. Although q gives a slow, also having a Rylai's Crystal Scepter will help to prevent the enemy from running away.

Although the slow on Rylai's Crystal Scepter is not needed, the extra health will make you survive much easier in team fights. Health too stronk.

Lich Bane: Everyone builds sheen on Skarner. Why? Because its amazing on him. His massive spamming of abilities means that every time Sheen can proc, it will proc in a fight. Lich Bane is the clear choice for upgrading since you will have so much AP.

Rabadon's Deathcap: You cannot build an AP champ without Rabadon's Deathcap. Nuff said.

ITEMS TO CONSIDER:
Will of the Ancients: This is a great item in general for a team. The spell vamp will help a lot after your second q since it is continuous magic damage. Along with your e to heal you a little bit more than it would. This item will give you the sustain that the other items will not give you.

Abyssal Mask: This is a good item with MR and AP plus it lowers the enemy MR, but it is not as good as other items.

Void Staff: Good item, useful if the enemy stacks MR, but difficult to fit in compared to the other items.

Zhonya's Hourglass: The Active is useless on you. The only good thing is the 100 AP in which case you should have taken a second Rabadon's Deathcap.

Archangel's Staff: This item will give you a lot of AP with Rod of Ages and gives a lot of Mana Regen early on, but once again, it is difficult to decide what item to get rid of.

How did I do in game?

Did I have fun?
Did I avoid trash-talking, being AFK, locking in a top champ when someone else called top, giving up and intentionally feeding?
Did I try to complete the AP build, using my own personal style, changing where necessary depending on the enemy team?

If you answered yes to all of these questions, then you did great. Ignore your team if they are calling you a troll. The only thing troll is your item build and you did nothing wrong otherwise. Play for fun. Winning is also fun FYI.

Still Reading?

Wow, you read the whole guide? Awesome. Now go try it out... I can wait... Was it fun? Obviously your answer was yes. Go ahead and up vote it, even though the guide is clearly a troll guide, up voting it will not hurt and will allow others to have the same amount of fun.

Please leave comments. I'll read them if people post them and I'll make changes is people can convince me. I will not change this from AP though since that is the point of the guide.
