Hi I am Alrikus and this is my Twitch guide. This is the first guide i ever made.
I play Twitch as a Marksman and have a 57% winratio in 160 ranked games. When i started playing Twitch, I raised my Elo from Silver 5 to Platinum 5 in around 2 months. I play on EUW server and if you have any questions write a comment or add me ingame.
Twitch is a quiet sneaky Marksman and has a lot of outplay potention. He is one of the strongest Lategame Carrys thanks to his Rat-Ta-Tat-Tat and has a strong Burst with Contaminate. The most important thing about playing Twitch is your positioning.

Twitch is one of the strongest AD Carrys in Lategame. He can shred whole teams with his Rat-Ta-Tat-Tat. His Ambush allows you to position yourself and gives you an option for sneaky engages or escapes. With the use of his Rat-Ta-Tat-Tat he has the highest attackrange ingame. Since he is not played that often, you almost can play him every game.
- No real escape
- Weak early
- Ambush needs 3 seconds until you got into stealth
- Easy to shut down in teamfights
Twitch´s weaknesses are his weak early and the lack of escapes. The lack of escapes makes it hard to carry alone without any protection.

I do not recommend takeing scaling runes since you have trouble in early game. Once you reach midgame the runes will have a really low impact.

I prefer use 18-12-0 Masteries. In the Ferocity tree I take the points which are used for autoattacking marksman e.g. attackspeed and armour penetration. As Keystone Masterie i prefer to take Fervor of Battle since it is te strongest available masterie if it comes to lategame. I always recomend taking Warlord's Bloodlust if you have a difficult matchup or when you face a lot of champions that can dive to you. Warlord's Bloodlust increases your kiting power really much, while Fervor of Battle gives you more total on hit damage in lategame. On the top of that Runaan's Hurricane stacks up the stacks of Fervor of Battle and the bolts apply the on hit damage aswell.

Summoner Spells

Heal restores some of your and one ally's health. When there are more then one ally around you, the one with lowest health will be healed. Heal gives a short Movementspeed buff, which helps chasing or escape.
Since almost everyone got Flash you have to get it too. Flash can be used in a defensive way for escape or in a offensive way to chase. You can use your Flash to dodge some heavy CC. This Summoner Spell has probably the most outplay- potention and it offers you a lot more options to juke.
You can use Flash to get over terrain. Flash moves you to your corsor´s location.

For flashing walls you should know how it works. If you use Flash into terrain it will move you to the closest point which is no terrain. So if you flash under 50% of the terrain you will just come out in front of the terrain. If you flash more then 50% of the terrain, you will pass it, even if the range of Flash is lower then needed. The 50% mark has to be in the range of Flash. If it is not inside the range you will fail your wallflash. Flash can be used to dodge a Malphite Unstoppable Force during teamfight or flash into an unwarded bush to dodge autoattacks, too.

Exhaust is quiet useful for 1 vs 1 fights since it shuts down the enemy´s damage output quiet hard and slow the enemy too. This meight help you in early to midgame but Summoner Spells should be takn for Lategame. As marksman you are your team´s main damage source so you shoud focus on Summoner Spells to keep you alive. Also most supports take Exhaust to make your life easyer against enemy´s assasins or carrys.

Ignite raises your execution power and reduce enemy´s heal for 40%. In lategame you shred the whole enemy team and you have a high executive kit with Rat-Ta-Tat-Tat, Deadly Venom and Contaminate.

Cleanse is used against heavy CC- teams. Take this if you face a lot of hard CC to keep yourself alive.

Barrier´s gives you a shild which is bigger then the heal from Heal but it will be gone after 2 seconds while heal is a permanent increase of your health. Heal can safe an Ally too. To my mind heal is the better option in most cases. Only take Barrier when you face an enemy team with high burst or strong assasins.

Champion Abilities


Deadly Venom:
Twitch's basic attacks infct the target, dealing 2/3/4/5/6 true damage every second for 6 seconds, stacking up to 6 times. The amount is increased every 4 levels.

Tips and Tricks
  • // Try to keep Deadly Venom stacked on the enemy during laning phase.
  • // Each attack should be after 5 seconds for its maximum useage. This will renew the stacks every 5 seconds and raise the amount of stacks so the passiv keeps on damaging the enemy.
  • // 1st autoattack: 2 true damage for 5 seconds = 10 true damage
  • // 2nd autoattack: 4 true damage for 5 seconds = 20 true damage
  • // 3rd autoattack: 6 true damage for 5 seconds = 30 true damage
  • // 4th autoattack: 8 true damage for 5 seconds = 40 true damage
  • // 5th autoattack:10 true damage for 5 seconds = 50 true damage
  • // 6th autoattack:12 true damage for 6 seconds = 72 true damage
  • // So with 6 autoattacks it should take 30 seconds to stack up your passiv. While doing so it deals 222 bonus true damage.
    Considering this is only the level 1-5 passiv, it is a big amount of damage. I hope with this short math, I could show you how strong really Deadly Venom is. Mastering this passiv stacking makes your lane a lot easyer.

After 1.5 seconds, Twitch becomes invisible for 4/5/6/7/8 seconds. While stealthed, Twitch gains 20% movement speed.
If Twitch attacks a unit while Stealthed, he gains 30/40/50/60/70 % attack speed for 5 seconds. Ambush´s cooldown is reset when an enemy champion affected by Deadly Venom dies.
If Twitch takes damag while casting Ambush, the stealth activation is delayed to 4.5 seconds.

You're going to want to max out [Ambush] after [Contaminate] and before [Venom Cask].

Tips and Tricks
  • // With Ambush level 4 you can press "Q" before recalling for an invisible recall.
  • // Use Ambush for escapes: Activate it and walk into a bush. When you become stealthed just walk th same way out.
  • // Use Ambush during teamfights after an enemy died for the bonus attack speed and the movement speed buff.

Venom Cask:
Twitch hurls a cask of venom that explodes in an area, adding 2 stacks of Deadly Venom, and slowing targets hit by 25/30/35/40/45 % for 3 seconds.

You're going to want to max out [Venom Cask] last.

Tips and Tricks
  • // Use your Venom Cask to keep stacks on an enemy.
  • // Take Venom Cask at level 1 if you do not want to fight at level 1.

Deals 20/35/50/65/80 physical damage to enemys infcted with Deadly Venom. Expunge deals additional 15/20/25/30/35 (+0.2 per ability power)(+0.25 per bonus attack damage) physical damage per stack of Deadly Venom on them.

You're going to want to max out [Contaminate] after [Rat-Ta-Tat-tat] and before [Ambush].

Tips and Tricks
  • // Do not use Contaminate when the enemy has less then 4 stacks Deadly Venom. If you do, you will run out of Mana quiet fast.
  • // Contaminate is slower then your autoattack. Use it before shooting the final hit can safe your life.
  • // Use Contaminate during teamfight as an additional burst right after you shot some bolts with your Rat-Ta-Tat-Tat.
  • // Take Contaminate at level 1 if you want to fight that early. You are very strong at level 1 fights.

rat-ta-tat-tat Rat-Ta-Tat-Tat:
For 5 seconds, Twitch gains 300 attack range, 20/30/40 bonus attack damage and his basic attacks bcome piercing bolts that deal 20% less damage to subsequent targets, down to a minimum of 40% damage.

You're going to want to max out [Rat-Ta-Tat-Tat] first.[/color].

Tips and Tricks
  • // Your piercing bolts apply one hit effects. That means they can be critical hits aswell.
  • // When the enemys stand in a row it is the most effective.
  • // With the use of your ultimate you can shot turrets out from out of their attack range. For 5 seconds you have the highest attack range ingame.

Doran's Blade
Doran's Blade is the safer start item on marksman. It gives you some bonus attack damage, health and lifeleech. These stats are quiet fine for early game

Cull is nice for a safe matchup since it buffs your gold income from farm. If ou got a bit behind take cull to lower the enemy´s advantage. 100 CS on Cull give the same amount of gold as 130 CS without Cull would do. The on hit heal from Cull synergyzes with Runaan's Hurricane´s bolts.

Runaan's Hurricane
Runaan's Hurricane´s bolt make you able to hit three enemys with one autoattack. these bolts apply Fervor of Battle and Deadly Venom stacks. It is a great item for fighting multible enemys. It offers you some crit, movement speed, attack speed and some nice on hit damage.

Youmuu's Ghostblade
Youmuu's Ghostblade gives you 65 attack damage, 20 armor penetration and 10 % cooldown reduction. The active gives you some movementspeed and attack speed. Youmuu's Ghostblade is a nice item to assasinate squishee champions. Since Twitch has a weak early, this item will improve your early.

Infinity Edge
Infinity Edge is the must buy item on any crit based marksman. Infinity Edge´s passiv increases your critical hit´s damage by 25% since crits deal the same damage as 2.5 non crits would do. The Item offers 20% citical chance and 65 attack damage too.

Blade of th Ruined King
Blade of the Ruined King gives you 25 attack damage, 10% lifeleech and 40% attackspeed. It´s passiv deals 6% of the targets current health as bonus physical damage. This is an on hit effect so your Rat-Ta-Tat-Tat and Runaan's Hurricane´s bolts will apply this passiv too. Blade of the Ruined King´s active deals 10% of the maximum health damage, heals for the same amount, slows the target by 25% for 3 seconds and give you the stolen movementspeed. Blade of the Ruined King is one of the best items against tanky champions. The active helps you chase or escape.

Statikk Shiv
Statikk Shiv gives you 35% attack speed, 30% crit chance and 5% movement speed. The best about Statikk Shiv is the passiv which is a lightning charge. These charge can crit so it is quiet nice for burst. If someone got out of your range with quiet low health and you got the Statikk Shiv passiv up you can attack someting like a minion behind him so that the charges can finish him off.

Lord Dominik's Regards
Lord Dominik's Regards is gread against armor stacking enemys. Lord Dominik's Regards´s passiv gives you up to 15% bonus damage, depending on how much more health the enemy has. This item make you shred everyone. You can even mealt the enemy tanks. Since it is a on hit effect Runaan's Hurricane and Rat-Ta-Tat-Tat apply this bonus.

Mortal Reminder
Mortal Reminder is gread against armor stacking enemys with a lof of liferegeneration or heal. Mortal Reminder´s passiv apply Grievous Wounds which reduce the every heal by 40%. Since it is a on hit effect Runaan's Hurricane and Rat-Ta-Tat-Tat apply this bonus.

Mercurial Scimitar
Mercurial Scimitar deletes crowd control debuffs. Take Mercurial Scimitar if you face a lot of crowd control and have troubl to avoid it.

Death's Dance
Death's Dance make 15% of all incoming damage into a damage over time bleeding. Take Death's Dance if you have trouble with surviving against enemy assasins or hig burst champions.

The Bloodthirster
The Bloodthirster gives a nice shild and a lot of lifeleech. The Bloodthirster helps with kiting enemy tanks and negates Thornmail´s damage.

Sterak's Gage
Sterak's Gage makes you survive strong bursts. Beside this safe it incrases your strengh quiet hard with the shild. Take Sterak's Gage against a high burst team.

Guardian Angel
Guardian Angel just revives you and give you a nice amount of armor and magic resist. Take Guardian Angel if you get oneshotted behind your team. Especially take this against an enemy Katarina or Le Blanc.

Maw of Malmortius
Maw of Malmortius works well against enemy team comps that have a lot of magical damage. Maw of Malmortius´s passiv gives you some extra lifeleech what makes your kite stronger.

Phantom Dancer
Phantom Dancer reduces damage from the last itted target by 12 %. This make Phantom Dancer a nice item for assasinating or kiting. Take this item if the enemy have a lot of gap closers to dive you in your team or to make your 1 vs 1 stronger. Replace Statikk Shiv for Phantom Dancer in lategame if the enemy are not squishe.

When you reach lategame as Twitch you will be a threat to the enemys. Positioning is the Key to win, but remember you can not fight a whole enemy team on your own. Always be with your team and communicate.
The items build should be fit to the current game. You will increase your performance on Twitch when you gain experience.
