Hello guys my name is DcCoNect,I play in EUNE Server and this is my guide for Twitch.I like Twitch because he is a strong ADC and one of my most picking ADCs.Although he is difficult to master,he is a very interesting champion.I hope my guide to help you learn more about how to play Twitch

Twitch Pros

+ Ambush can be used as escape and engage tool
+ Huge damage during mid/late game
+ Biggest range(850) when rat-ta-tat-tat is active
+ Amazing potential in 1v1s fights
+ Stealthy

Twitch Cons

- Weak at early game
- Ambush is an unreliable escape
- Not so useful without rat-ta-tat-tat
- Always needs a good position(as all ADCs)

Runes are simple. Greater Mark of Attack Damage is mandatory for all ADCs because of the attack damage. Greater Seal of Armor and Greater Glyph of Magic Resist help you survive throughout the game. Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed is better choice for Twitch than Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage.

I don't have a lot to tell about the masteries.18/12/0 will be your setup for Twitch

Ferocity

Fury gives you bonus Attack Speed, Feast gives you 20 Health every 25 seconds, Vampirism gives you Life Steal and Spell Vamp, Bounty Hunter gives you extra damage if you kill a unique champion, Battering Blows gives you Armor Penetration and Fervor of Battle gives you damage based on Fervor stacks.

Cunning

Savagery helps you waveclear a bit easier due to the bonus damage on minion(you have Deadly Venom which helps you waveclear too), Runic Affinity and Assassin can't help you because you are ADC and you have your Support always by your side so I pick Secret Stash . Merciless helps you kill someone faster and Dangerous Game gives you Health and Mana for every kill.

Heal

Heal is a standard spell for ADCs and is very useful on Twitch.Using it will save your life or your teammate's life if you are in a bad situation and it can be used as an escape tool due to the bonus movement speed.

As I said before, Ambush is an unreliable escape so you can activate Heal to escape and survive.

Flash

Flash is the most common spell and the most useful.You use it to escape from the enemies or to engage and go for a kill.These are the reasons why everyone takes Flash.

Alternatives

Exhaust

Exhaust is a pretty useful spell mostly on supports,because they can exhaust the enemy damage dealer and save your life or slow a low health enemy and help you kill him.In this situation,you take Exhaust and your support takes Heal.Useful on 1v1 fights but the disadvantage is that it can't help you survive so I prefer Heal.

Cleanse

Cleanse is a good spell for Twitch.Take it if you are against CC champions like Varus's Chain of Corruption or Ashe's Enchanted Crystal Arrow and you believe that you won't avoid them and get your health low.

Barrier

Barrier was a popular spell on ADCs in the past and they rarely use it now.Take it if you have enemies like Graves with hyper burst and you personally think you will not survive.

(Passive)Deadly Venom

Deadly Venom is a key ability on 1v1 fights.Dealing true damage constantly will lower the enemy's health steadily and it will increase Contaminate damage(more stacks --> more damage).Always pay attention to your poison stacks.You may take a surprising kill due to them.

(Q)Ambush

Cooldown:16 seconds

Ambush is Twitch's most useful ability.Once he gets into stealth,he can engage or escape.If engage,you go near them and start shooting.If you have Blade of the Ruined King and Youmuu's Ghostblade you use their actives and watch their health drop.If you know the minion's vision range,you will catch them off guard.

Ambush can lead to effective ganks too.You can camp mid,use Ambush and go behind the enemy mid laner.You or your mid laner probably kill the enemy or he will use one of his summoner's spells(maybe both).You can gank mid whenever you want during the game,unless your team is too behind.When you are in bot lane and your jungler comes to help you,you can use it and if they don't see you,you will catch them off guard again.

In teamfights, Ambush will help you acquire a good position.Then you activate rat-ta-tat-tat, Blade of the Ruined King and Youmuu's Ghostblade actives and you just start to KILL EVERYONE.Position is the key to teamfights.However,if they have their CC available,you have to wait until they use them on something else or you will pay the price.You can also use it to focus on the enemy ADC in teamfights,dealing a lot of damage with rat-ta-tat-tat(maybe even kill it) and then Flash to avoid enemies' CC abilities and return back to your team's safety.

(W)Venom Cask

Cooldown:13/12/11/10/9 seconds

Venom Cask is a useful ability of Twitch.It can be used to escape from those who are chasing you or chase someone due to the slow and can help your support possibly land an ability.It also adds 2 Deadly Venom stacks to the enemies hit and increase Contaminate's damage.I prefer to use it immediately after I go out of stealth and then start auto attacks and the enemy has at least 4 Deadly Venom stacks.However,it costs a lot of mana so use it wisely.

(E)Contaminate

Cooldown:12/11/10/9/8 seconds

Contaminate is Twitch's basic damage ability and its damage depends on how much poison stacks you have.It works well with Venom Cask and you can use it to harass,execute or the enemy is getting out of range.It deals damage to all enemies affected by Deadly Venom so during teamfights you use rat-ta-tat-tat and then Contaminate because they will all have poison stacks.

Cooldown:120/110/100 seconds

Last weapon in Twitch's arsenal is his ultimate, rat-ta-tat-tat.First of all,activating it you will temporarily have the biggest attack range.Its use depends on the situation.If you go for 1v1,possibly you will need it while getting out of stealth.It isn't necessary to use it immediaterly because you may not need it to kill him.But if the enemy is low on health and he use Flash to escape,you will activate it and in order to ensure the kill.

During teamfights,you activate rat-ta-tat-tat to harass and kill the enemies.However,you need to focus on specific targets.Your priority goes Mid > ADC > Top > Jungle > Support.If you focus support,you use your ultimate for nothing.If one enemy is fed,you will focus him in teamfights.

You also need a good position in teamfights which Ambush will help you get it.Moreover,you must be in a safe area because they will try to shut you down.So when you use rat-ta-tat-tat you must a safe and good position. Youmuu's Ghostblade active will make it more effective.

If you have the right position, rat-ta-tat-tat can damage both nexus towers with every shot.

You can damage a turret when you trigger rat-ta-tat-tat and you will outrange them.They can't hit you but they can reveal you.

rat-ta-tat-tat can't hit inhibitors and nexus.

Twitch's early game is very weak.You can engage with your Ambush but if you have enemies with grab abilities(e.g. Thresh's Death Sentence or Blitzcrank's Rocket Grab and pull you to their tower you will possibly die and lose your lane.You play safely,you farm(which is easier thanks to Deadly Venom) and engage when you think you will kill them.Autoattacking enemies and use Contaminate to finish them.Always have a good vision of the map.

During mid game you should have your core items bought( Blade of the Ruined King, Youmuu's Ghostblade and Berserker's Greaves)and you will be able to push your lane easier because you will win the trades.Your 1v1 potential will be amazing but you will be with 0% Critical Strike in teamfights. rat-ta-tat-tat will do a lot of damage if played correctly but you won't land critical strikes.

However,there is an alternative build from your core that starts with Runaan's Hurricane,then you buy B. F. Sword in order to build Infinity Edge.This will lower your 1v1 potential significantly because you will play more as ADC rather than an Assassin.However, Runaan's Hurricane passive will help you waveclear,push lanes and add Deadly Venom stacks.Your critical strike reaches 50% and it will buff your rat-ta-tat-tat.

Note: Runaan's Hurricane passive is applied during rat-ta-tat-tat

Twitch's best part of the game,the late one.During late game you should have your build finished(the one you chose) or you have bought five of them and build the last one.You will play as an Assassin,searching for lonely targets,engage with Ambush,start your autoattacks and finish them with Contaminate.You also have Blade of the Ruined King active and Youmuu's Ghostblade(if you chose to build the last one) to finish them faster.During teamfights,take a good position and start to kill everyone with rat-ta-tat-tat.

Starting Items #1

Common start for ADCs and good for Twitch too.You buy Doran's Blade,a Health Potion and Stealth Ward. Doran's Blade's Life Steal isn't huge(only 3%),but it works well with mastery Feast and Vampirism and you take your health back hit by hit. Health Potion(and in asticky situation Heal) also helps regenerate health.

Starting Items #2

These starting items are your alternative first buy but it's too risky.You start with Cull,a Health Potion and Stealth Ward. Cull's damage is lower than Doran's Blade and it doesn't give you health and life steal,however,it gives you gold advantage.You need to be good at farming in order to buy that.When your CS(Creep Score) reaches 100,it instantly gives you 300 gold but disables the gold giving passive.When you go back to base,you sell it for extra gold.However,this start is too risky.If played correctly,you will probably win your lane because you will have 400 gold more than your enemy ADC(without calculating kills and having the same CS),so it means one more item for you( Long Sword or Dagger.If not played correctly,you will lose your lane and you will need help from your jungler in order to win it.

There are 2 builds that you can choose,the Standard Build and the Alternative.This part of the article explains the Standard Build Items and this build is my preferred one.With this ability your playstyle is more as an Assassin rather than an AD Carry

Blade Of The Ruined King

The item that will save your game.It gives you amazing 1v1 potential with its active and that's the reason I build it first.Your waveclear will be a bit restricted and it will be difficult to recall to base for the first time having 3400 gold so your first buy will be Bilgewater Cutlass.

Youmuu's Ghostblade

Youmuu's Ghostblade active is one of my favourite in the game because the bonus movement speed can lead to a successful escape or,in combination with the bonus attack speed,can lead to a deadly engage.Also makes rat-ta-tat-tat.You can also build Youmuu's Ghostblade first because it has more damage than Blade of the Ruined King and 10% Cooldown Reduction that can be proved useful in sticky situations.If you start to build it,buy Serrated Dirk first because of its armor penetration.

Berserker's Greaves

Standard boots for AD Carries and very useful on Twitch.Best boots for ADCs ever.
