Galio is a mid that no one ever plays, He is also the champion this season with the highest win rate (I think I took part in that considering all I play is Galio). Gaio is a Tanky mid with a strong burst. His abilities have a high cool down but they pack a punch. He is a counter to every mid you can think of, Yes even Yas and Zed. He is a strong champ to start fights, due to his ult, and he is a very good team comp champ.

Galio's Passive makes him one hell of an AP counter. His passive takes 50% of magic resistance and turns it into ability powers. Now that doesn't mean just build nothing but MR items. Think of Galio as a Malphite but with MR and more burty with abilities.

Resolute Smite is your main big gun. It has three amazing properties. It slows down the champion by 24/28//32/36/40 % for 2.5 seconds. It has a small AOE range, and it does a ton of damage. With this you can lower champions health by a lot. It has good range and it is strong when used with Righteous Gust you slow the enemy down and boost your teammates with Righteous Gust.

This here what makes Galio strong and tanky. Bulwark can be used on allies or on yourself giving them 30/45/60/75/90 Armor and MR. Each time you or an allie gets hit you heal for 24/40/55/70/85 (+30 of ability power) (-20%healing for each consecutive hit). Use this when you go in alone to start team fights, to get that 90 mr and armor and to also boost your ability power. Or use it on your teammate tank who is going in to give him that extra armor and MR. You can also use it on your adc who is being target to have some armor and mr to survive a little longer. Overall use Bulwark when you use Idol of Durand

Is a strong escape and pursuer. When you are ready to start a team fight and you hit an enemy with Resolute Smite or if another champs slows an enemy and 2-3 of your teammates aren't near. Righteous Gust will speed them up to catch the enemy. Or you can use it when you take a tower and enemy team is near, Righteous Gust can speed you guys up to escape and use Resolute Smite to slow them down as you ride the magic gust wind to freedom.

] The holy grail. Galios ult Idol of Durand taunts any enemy player in his AOE ult to attack him. It is a strong ult. it does 200/300/400 + 60% of ability power not to mention 10% damage for each attack he suffers channels max 80% bonus damage. So when you blow the **** out of the ult, you will see tons of damage in return. Never use Zhonyas when you ult, it will cancelled the ult. Have say Malphite, Amumu or any champ that can start the fight, you go in right after without using flash and catch them in the ult, killing 1-2 or damaging them so much your team cleans up and ace them. You can also start the fights by Flash then Idol of Durand catching the enemy and do not forget to use Bulwark while ulting to get that extra MR and Armor plus AP damage due to Runic Skin

Galio is a melee champion so farming against range is kinda annoying because they will poke you with range. So what you do is keep farming with autos till you hit level 5. Once you hit level 5 you can Resolute Smite + Righteous Gust the back wave (as well hopefully hit the enemy champ). Galio Resolute Smite and Righteous Gust are strong wave clearing so it makes it also defending towers very easy.
