Introduction

Hello, I'm MontageMoment, I wanted to make a guide on Vayne because I've become really successful with her lately and I think she is one of the best ad carries in game. When you play ad carries, you can't always focus the squishy ad or ap enemy carry, you'll always get rushed by the enemy bruiser and your bruiser will do the same to the enemy ad/ap carry, But as Vayne deals true damage and damage depending on your maximum health, she is great at killing bruisers so quickly, I've been in loads of situations when I just kite the enemy Irelia or Vi and kill them quite easily before the enemy could kill my bruiser.

+ Very fast attack animation, easy to last hit
+ Condemn: a stun, a knock back
+ Extreme burst
+ High initial and late game damage
+ Night Hunter allows for easy chasing
+ Invisibility spell
+ Fun to play

- Squishy
- Relatively short range
- Slow initial attack speed

I take armor penetrations reds because it's great a dealing damage to champions, if you're having trouble at last hitting, you can swap them for attack damage runes. Flat armor runes help you stay alive early vs the enemy ad carry and magic resistance blues help you later in game against the enemy ap carry, I don't take flat magic resistance because supports don't deal a lot of magic damage.

Summoner Spells


Flash Is a great Get Out of Jail Free card. It allows you to escape or chase effectively. It makes it easier to land your Condemn as you can flash and tumble into position. It's also great at escaping at the heat of the moment, flashing a small distance over walls or towards your tower is enough to keep you alive

Vayne will definitely get focused with crowd control first in teamfights, Cleanse allows her to keep on autoattacking and dealing the most amount of damage possible which will hopefully win the game. Her autoattacks end up dealing 800-1000 critical damage which is a lot better than Ignite which only deals 410 over 5 seconds

Probably not as good as Flash for escaping at the heat of the moment, but it's a lot better than Flash at actually running away, if you haven't been caught already. It's great a chasing, summoner spell and combined with your passive and ulti, you'll be catching up to people in no time.

Maxing Q on Vayne makes her very mobile at early stages of the game and gives her a decent burst combined with crit. Your attack speed isn't good enough early to make w effective and you won't be able to pin someone against the wall every time with e in lane so it isn't viable, the burst is pretty good though if you can land it.



Vayne ruthlessly hunts evil-doers. She gains 30 Movement Speed when moving towards an enemy champion.

Vayne tumbles, maneuvering to carefully place her next shot. She rolls toward the cursor and her next attack deals bonus damage.

Vayne tips her bolts with a rare metal, toxic to evil things. The third consecutive attack or ability against the same target deals a percentage of the target's maximum Health as bonus true damage (Max damage vs. Monsters is capped at 200.)

Vayne draws a heavy crossbow from her back, and fires a huge bolt at her target, dealing damage and knocking them back. If they collide with terrain, they are impaled, dealing bonus damage and stunning them.

Readying herself for an epic confrontation, Vayne gains increased Attack Damage, stealth during Tumble, and triple the bonus Movement Speed from Night Hunter.

Vayne's early item choice


Sword of the Divine is an amazing item. It can 3 shot kill most ad carries but don't use it straight away if you're fighting a bruiser or you'll lose the 45% attack speed after autoattacking three times, autoattack until you know 3 criticals can kill and then switch it on.

Bloodthirster is Vayne's main item, it's the best one to rush as it allows you to have sustain in lane and last hit more. Also as you're very squishy, it allows you to regain any healthpoints from poke before a teamfight so you don't go in with only half healthpoints.

A very risky way to go but if you somehow end up with 3800gold on your first way back, why not. It will deal insane damage combined with Sword of the Divine and will probably 3 hit anyone in the game, But your survivability will be bad so only get this early if your team has a lot of cc

Trinity Force?



Trinity Force is a viable item on Vayne, it gives great survivability through movement speed, health, better chasing ability through the slow, and burst through the crit and sheen proc. I'd probably sell Sword of the Divine for Trinity Force for my last item as Sword of the Divine becomes less effective as you already have a lot of critical chance late game. "vayne such a hyper carry doesnt even matter if you build retarted" hehe =P
