Introduction

So it's only right that before we get into the guide that I introduce myself! I'm Anthony, or mychonny53 on League, and I would like to give a warm welcome to my very first guide! While you may think "Oh, this is just a noob, he is only summoner level 16...", I am actually more experienced than you would come to think. Also I did take a few things from other guides and some stuff my friends said to add, so don't get upset that some things here are not original. I realize that there is a voting system for the builds and I wanted to point out some things before you vote on my guide:
- This is not an in-depth guide.
- The guide is meant to be a good idea on what a solid build looks like.

Constructive criticism is always welcome here! So before you down-vote this guide, please take a second to think whether or not it is a legitimate reason for the down-vote. With all that out of the way, welcome to my very first guide of what I hope to be many!

Your Role As An Offtank-Jungler

As the Offtank-Jungler, you have four main goals to incorporate and achieve in your playstyle:
1. Initiate team-fights. (<--- Always Fun To Do)
2. Focus your fire away from your AD/AP carries.
3. Provide the ganks necessary to help your team win their lanes.
4. Use your CC to help displace enemies that can be killed easily.

To ensure the accomplishment of these goals, it is vital that you maintain constant communication not only through pings but also through the in-game chat.

Summoner Spells

Smite is the obvious choice when you Jungle. Whenever you play jungle, you ALWAYS pick this spell.
Flash is a good choice for anybody who has it. You should never need Ignite if you perform your gank correctly. All other spells are useless except for..
Ghost is pretty much the only spell you can take in place of Flash since Vault Breaker does have a wall jumping trait allowing you to escape easily when trapped in a tight situation.

Abilities (Order)

On Vi you will always want to max out Relentless Force (E) first. This will allow you to easily get that three hit combo to activate Denting Blows passive effects, giving you a higher damage output. Using this, you will make your opponents a lot more vulnerable to you and your teammates. After that is maxed you will want to max out Vault Breaker next.

Abilities (Usage)

Vi's skillset offers her a unique setup of a great method along with a borderline OP initiator. In this section, I will discuss the potential uses of each ability, and how/when they should be used.
Blast Shield: Vi's passive shield is what really gives her great sustain and surprising survival ability while low on health and while out in the jungle. Be sure to time your abilities out; don't always use both charges of your E right away. Sometimes patience is the key to getting the most effective use out of your passive, and if you time it just right, the shield produced by your passive may just be the deciding factor of life or death during a 1v1 or team-fight.
Another thing to keep in mind is the fact that using an ability on minions or jungle creeps also triggers the shield. This is a must to remember when fleeing while you have low health -- when you have low health you should use an ability on a monster to get the shield. More often than not, it will save you a death by eating a skillshot.
Vault Breaker (Team-fights): Although this can be used as an initiator, the hardest thing to learn is how to use it as an escape plan. This ability gives you the option to dash through anything, of course, given the range of the wall you plan on dashing through.
Although it is tempting to get into range and initiate using this ability, try to do the exact opposite. Save the initiating for your ult ( Cease and Desist). Your Q is better used in an escape situation if, and it WILL happen eventually, a team-fight does not go your way. If this situation comes up, immediately run for the jungle. Then, use your best judgement to determine what wall to dash through based on where your opponents are positioned. A well executed wall-dash will save your life and save you from the enemy potentially ending your kill-streak.
NOTE: When dashing, minions/monsters will not stop you, but an enemy champion will. You can not dash backwards through an enemy champion. Go around them.
Vault Breaker (Ganking): This is when you use this dash to initiate. This can be done in 2 ways:
1. Cast from a bush for an immediate gap closer, relying on the laner to apply a form of CC. This is not recommended in general, but is an option if you're arriving a bit late to a lane-fight.
2. Cast from behind the enemy after running behind them. This is the best way to gank. Hitting an enemy with your dash knocks them backwards. This allows your laner to get into position for the kill. This also applies a stack of Denting Blows.
Denting Blows: Pretty self-explanatory. At 3 hits you get a buff, they get a debuff. Very useful in all situations, and gives you great potential for an early dragon kill.
Relentless Force: Your burst ability. This applies a stack of Denting Blows, so I recommend using this after the first basic attack but before the second. Since it resets your attack timer, you can get three attacks off and trigger the passive of Denting Blows extremely fast. Additionally, I recommend not using both punches twice, as the second one should be timed out to activate your passive shield a second time. It is up to you to time it.
Also, this can be used on minions in a lane to reach a low-health enemy champion that is close to getting a way. Since it damages all units behind it, make sure your target is in that line of fire. The ability to do this is what separates the good Vi players from the great ones, and the extra kills you'll get from developing this skill are immense.
Cease and Desist: This is your main team-fight initiator. It should be used on either the AP Carry or the ADC, depending on which one is further back. You want to do this because you will damage everyone in your path, as well as knocking them aside. This will disrupt the enemy team, and allow your team to come in for an easier fight.

Items

Spirit of the Elder Lizard: This is just a great item. That's really all there is to it! But on a more serious note, the only difference between this item and the Spirit of the Ancient Golem is the fact that this item gives you +30 AD instead of +350 Health. Also, since it has a gold income stat, you can actually build boots other than the mercury treads!
Mobility Boots: As an offtank, you want to be in the fight as much as possible. The first step to being in the fight is getting there! Therefore, these boots help provide you the speed needed in order to get to the fight or gank the lane.
Blade of the Ruined King: With the new attack-speed boost, Madred's Bloodrazor is pretty much back. This is the perfect DPS item in general, and on Vi it's absolutely deadly. The AS boost gives you your W DPS, its own passive gives you massive damage, the life-steal gives you tons of sustain on top of what you have already, and the active will often save you when you it comes down to the wire. I believe this item to be an absolute must, and once you get this, it's game-over. NOTE: This goes for a lot of champs; you will want to rush this majority of the time.
Black Cleaver: TBC, or BC, is one of the most versatile, borderline OP items in game. It works with virtually any form of AD role. In this case, it provides a little health, and a little armor penetration to aid in the killing of potentially tanky enemies. And of course, we can't forget the nice attack damage it lends us.
Randuin's Omen: Riot has a knack for making some power-items in the game. Currently, Blade of the Ruined King has the number one spot, but Randuin's is right there with it. If you want to have some crazy durability, this is the way to go. Definitely worth getting this item if your bot-lane is getting destroyed.
Banshee's Veil: Great magic resist & health stats, along with an awesome passive for those all-star team-fight initiations!
Situational Items:
Many players prefer to build this early in the game instead of Randuin's due to its fractional cost.

Greater Mark of Attack Damage is useful because this will give you a good boost in AD at the start of the game making you stronger and increasing your jungling potential. This particular Rune is also useful because it means you don't have to worry as much about rushing to get an item that will boost your AD stat.

Greater Mark of Attack Speed is the only other mark you will use on Vi and this Rune is useful because of that fact that Vi starts with a particularly low attack speed and this boost will mean a quicker attack early game, which in turn allows quicker access to Denting Blows, and then a killer attack speed late game.

Greater Seal of Armor is where it's at. You will want this as a jungler because it means less recalling and less usage of your health potions since when you start, the monsters in the jungle will do more damage to you and this will prevent them from doing as much damage.

Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist is just a standard Rune that you will use on many champions so no explanation is really needed.

Quintessence of Life Steal is a GREAT Rune for any jungler because one; you wont have to worry about running out of health super fast early game and two; you wont have to rush build a life-steal item.

Quintessence of Movement Speed is key for anybody who plans on making quick and efficient ganks since it will help you get to where you need to go quicker and get out quicker if something goes awry.

Jungle Route

So for Vi, this will be a good route for you to follow and with that said; it goes good with essentially every champion who is a jungler. If you are on the Blue team than you will want to follow the blue arrow on the map and follow the purple arrow if you are on the Purple team. The order laid out is as follows; Blue Buff>Wolves>Red Buff.

After Buffs:

After you have completed that, you will start ganking to help push the bottom and top lanes and also help your teammate in mid lane. It is your job to remember to ping the map at the position you are going to in order to let them know you will be helping because even though it may seem they need, they very well may not. When you gank, you are essentially playing a support position which means you are trying to help them and not kill everything in your path.

Summary

Vi is one of the best offtank-jungler in the game, hands down. When played correctly, she can take on pretty much any champion and anybody that is not killed runs in terror from her wrath. I hope you enjoyed my guide and that it gave you the inspiration to try new combos and don't forget that this guide is not "set in stone", so feel free to go off the beaten path and try new things!
