Items

I find that taking Doran's Ring on Viktor is much better and more effective that boots and pots. These items with full stacks, example; Seraph's Embrace, give you massive amount of ability power to dish out tons of damage.

Skill Sequence

I choose to start with my Q for mid lane because it gives more damage at level one and gives you a shield to benefit if you are forced to auto attack. I then choose to max the E immediately after level 3 since your going to be augmenting it and the cool down reduction as well as it is going to be your main damage output.

I obviously take flash and ignite for the extra damage and the gap close or escape tool.

Team Work

When someone comes for a gank and if they have a hard cc, make sure they stun right before you place your W on them so it will have a longer stun duration and then you use your abilities to finish them off.

Farming

During early game do what you would do with most champions (last hit) and try not to waste mana by using abilities on the minions.
During late game you should have close to full build and maxed your E, from there you can just use your E to farm like no other.
