Wingborn Storm Out of Bronze

General Guide
Alright, so who is this guide for? There are tons of guides out there from high tier players explaining how to squeeze every last bit of everything out of everything.

This is not one of those guides. This is a basic training guide to help you up out of Bronze to Silver,Gold, or possibly Platinum in solo/duo. Who am I? I'm bad and so are you. I returned to this game after a multiple year hiatus and have began playing seriously again and boy did it take me a while to learn all the new stuff. At my peak, I was a Platinum 1 Udyr main. Im writing the guide I wish I had when I started back, and Im focusing on the brand new pre season jungle.

So here's the basics to get you started. There are 3 new jungle items and 2 of them are amazing for you. The frog and the bird. Im choosing to have you focus on the frog because this guide is mainly for solo/duo queue. The bird is going to be a big deal for premade and coordinated teams but you dont have that luxury. The feog is going to help you become unkillable. He gives you an extra shield and also tenacity and slow resistance while the shield holds, which is infinitely more valuable than the other two options when you primarily have to rely on yourself.

While the frog is great, he requires you to farm jungle camps to fully activate him. 40 points in total with some camps being worth 2 points. You should have him fully grown between 15 and 20 minutes and place a major emphasis on farming your camps, the enemy's camps, and all the creatures in the river. You of course want to keep your head on a swivel for gank potentials and enemy jungler skirmish potentials during the farming process, but these camps are extremely important to your growth.

The game is kind enough to light up the camps for your standard path. Follow those. If you take 2 ranks in Wingborn Storm before whatever they renamed Bear Stance to, this is going to help your clear time. Most guides will recommend your first point in Q, but this is a bad trade for solo queue. It puts you behind overall, and all you need on your clear time is 3 minutes and 20 seconds so you have time to make it to the river to contest the Scuttlers. You should be able to get both of them as long as you time it right, unless you have deviated from the path for an early gank. If all you do is follow the camps, you should be level 4 and you should run into the enemy jungler at the first crab as soon as it spawns if not a second or two behind. Save your smite foe the crab. More often than not, they will be a level behind you because your clear speed is superior to most junglers, and also they will be more likely to have less health. Save your health potion for the Scuttle crab and expect to kill the enemy jungler here, burning flash if you have to. After the first crab, immediately look for a gank mid or top, even if theres no kill potential and then move to the second crab. If all has gone well so far, take the first 2 camps of your jungle path to get to level 5 and look for a gank in bottom lane. If one is available, kill them, if it is not available, force a confrontation at Dragon at level 5. He will spawn shortly before this at 5 minutes but you are stalling for level 5 because 3 ranks of Wingborn Storm is better than 2, and any level advantage over the enemy is a good one.

Continue clearing your camps, and try to take the Rift Herald as vlose to 8 minutes as possible, then use it immediately for whichever laner you are trying to help snowball. From here, you should know what you and your team are doing and help accordingly. An early Baron between 20 and 22 minutes is always a good idea at this ELO. There is no such thing as too early.
Continue building your items and backing as little as possible.

Some choice decisions:

Conqueror is your go to for any bruiser. Triumph will quickly snowball a team fight. These are your two most important talents. A lot of guides will have you take sorcery as Udyr's secondary talent, and its an amazing choice if you can rely on your team. However this guide is for solo queue and you cannot. Take Resolve, and the 2 talents that boost your shield. You want as much staying power as possible. These 2 talents alone can turn an early 1v1 in your favor. Shield Bash doesnt seem like a lot of help, but its a few extra points of damage early on. Damage that translates into healing for Idyr. So these two talents are just pinching pennies and they will add up later, especially when your Moss Stomper is adding 10 Armor and MR from Shield Bash later. The secondary shield talent works well with Triumph and Conqueror and adds just a little bit more healing in team fights.

So, movement speed is clearly better in an organized setting, but in this particular setting, 100% go for the shield and healing talents.

The choice for 8 MR is really only for a heavy MR team, otherwise take 9 adaptive force.

Hope this helps you out!
