Threats & Synergies
She won't have a chance against you beause you have clearly read the guide better than her.
While you can poke Leona from a good range, you should always be ready to dodge her (R) - E - Q engage. You are very squishy so you are very vulnerable to Leona's chain CC, which will often lead to the enemy ADC\team having enough time to kill you.
You can poke Alistar well in lane but be aware of his W-Q combo. It will disable you for a fairly long time which leaves you vulnerable to aggressive engages from the enemy His R also makes him very tanky (reduces all damage taken by 75%) so don't try to burn all your damage on him since he can still make a last stand with his ultimate even when he is low.
You should poke with patience because she can outheal your damage while simultaneously damaging you using her Q and forcing you to heal with your W or back. If you manage to not get hit by her Q you can continously poke her with your Q and force her to use her a lot or even her own ultimate She is also very squishy so a well done engage from your ultimate and decent follow-up from your team or your adc respectively should be enough to kill her.
Braum can only make use of his passive when he hits you first with a basic attack or a Q so just stay behind your minions (remember Braum stuns you at 4 passive stacks) Poke from range but at level 6 keep in mind that his ultimate makes a great engage against you because the knockup CC leaves you defenseless against a follow-up from the enemy ADC or/and jungler
Summon Aery will provide some extra damage in lane when poking with Hymn of Valor or basic attacks while it could potientilly save an ally's life with its shield. It scales off ability power, so it will still be use- and impactful in later stages of the game.
Manaflow Band will increase your maximum mana by 250 after hitting enemies with spells ten times. It will help with Sona's mana problems a bit after it is fully stacked.
It will also synergize greatly with Seraph's Embrace. Also it will refill a part of your missing mana every few seconds. This effect will also be useful in teamfights because your mana will last much longer.
Transcendence will give you 10% cooldown reduction upon reaching level 10.
It will also grant you 2 AP per 1% excess of CDR (more than 40% CDR). The spoiler below explains the connection between the rune and the former item choices.
Gathering Storm starts weak early but will provide some AP over the course of the game.
It will stack up every 10 minutes and will also provide AP for the passive of Rabadon's Deathcap
The Resolve tree will give some little resistances to Sona in lane.
Bone Plating will absorb a little poke damage but will not protect you if you get all-inned because Sona is very squishy and can be bursted down very fast.
Revitalize will amplify the healing and shielding , very useful for healing from Aria of Perseverance and its shielding as well as for the shielding from Summon Aery
