Introduction
I am aCuria, and I have been working on finding the pareto optimal builds for Xin Zhao through a computer model.

Assasin Build
In this playstyle we care about burst damage (time to kill) and effective HP ignoring healing. In teamfights we aim the squishy backline
Prowlers claw appears to be the optimal item for Xin Zhao at 2 items and beyond against squishy targets. In the computer model, I only assume that the prowlers 15% damage amplification active kicks in after 3 seconds, with the rough skill order:
e w r q aa aa aa w prowler aa ...
If you can execute prowlers first, then the damage will go up even further, but this is not practical to execute:
prowler e w r q aa aa aa
Overall Prowlers can be played with either HOB or LT, where HOB is better for the first 3 aa's and LT is better if the total engage time extends beyond 4-5s. Overall, I think HOB is better.

Shieldbow Builds
Kraken / Shieldbow is a dps build that is good against tanks.
1) Combat time must be long and the lethal tempo or conqueror rune used. Total combat time should be >=5s:
This lets you have a chance to kill the tanks, while with Prowlers you can run out of damage before the tank dies.
