An easy way to poke when laning mid with Lulu against a cautious opponent is to tag a minion with your E and then aim your Q at the enemy, an easy poke with no risks. This works in other lanes and situations to, for example; in bot lane when supporting you can tag an allie with your E when chasing an enemy then use your Q to slow the enemy. This is a great way to compensate if your W is spent.
When taking baren, save your W just in case an enemy jumps in to last hit. Tag them with your W to silence and disable them.
