Nasus was a champion that has recently picked up steam, and I began to play him a lot more!Why Pick The Doge?
It's true that
Nasus isn't picked very often in higher Elo. This is because good ol'Stack Q
Nasus is easily punished in the butt very hard by champions such as Riven, Darius, and ... SATAN the reason why is because Nasus has to get close to minions and q in order to build up stacks. don't get me wrong, stacking q Nasus is still the best champion late game in the game, but the early-mid game he fails spectacularly and loses to virtually every champion in the game. However with QUASPronounced "Qua-sus becoming popular his early-mid game troubles fade away and he becomes a beast that rules the rift.
Pros / Cons
Nasus' Strengths
+ Doesn't need to stack Q, punished less easily.
+ Not forced to max Q, Stack Q nasus is forced to use Q on minions
+ Always pressuring the top laner by shoving the lane in forcing toplaner to stay
+ Can 2 v 1 and win like a boss.
Nasus' Weaknesses
- Stack Q Nasus will perform better in late game than QUASUS
- Still can be kited around fairly hard.
- Nasus has no hard CC in his kit.
- QUASUS is less fun to play then regular stack q Nasus
- People will constantly flame you for not having Stacks.
- No escapes
Spells
Great in generally for Escaping/Engaging used 99% of the time
Because Nasus is tanky, ghost may be a good idea for chases and running away, however I personally haven't tried it out much so it's up to you.
Provides constant pressure and is really awesome when pushing waves
