They sometimes save Talon for their third ban to give me false hope. Joke's on them, I have no expectation of playing him anyway!
@Vynertje Kayle just scales really sell into late game and she can get away with powerfarming without being punished (like
Shyvana) so that's why I suggest she should be banned.
Ap
Ekko jungle is so strong at the moment.
Diana's really hard to shut down, I don't ban her, but at plat elo I see her banned a lot because people don't know how to punish her.
Tahm (forgot to mention Braum) are incredibly strong. Those are the only two supports I consider banning.
Annie's ban rates went up due to mid laners such as
Twisted Fate and
Ahri becomming more popular. These champions are pretty weak against Annie, meaning she's a threat. As a support, she's not as strong as she was a few patches ago due to the AA range reduction.
Lux's buffs from a few patches ago, the item changes (ap being cheaper) and less mobile midlaners with less outplay potential means she can farm, pick up a
Morellonomicon or something and then just start one-shotting people.
Xin Zhao scales pretty well and is strong at all stages of the game. Someone like Lee Sin is really strong early game (stronger than Xin by far, but Xin's also strong early) but falls off a lot harder and his damage becomes pretty insignificant without 3 or 4 damage items.
: I'm just generalizing things, I really don't want to go in-depth with this sort of stuff, I'm just trying to summarise it.
That's just my opinion, feel free to disagree.

Spellthief/coin: Spellthief for sure, sell it going into midgame.
Bans: I personally consider Tahm a priority ban as well, and I don't necessarily agree with Ekko/Kayle/Diana as priority but besides that agreed. Braum can be considered as well as he's seriously overpowered but not many supports play him.
Oh and I don't really see how Annie/lux/xin are even worth considering a ban either.
Ruby Sightstone: It's decent if you run out of wards stacks all the time and cannot afford to base every 3 minutes (that's usually the rate at which I burn through sightstone stacks)

I've been banning Riven, Darius and Fiora. Got to my Gold 4 promos and lost the series. Got back into Gold 4 promos and skipped into Gold 3. Games below in an album. Some missing screen shots though. Feeling pretty good; highest I've been, so that's great :) War also skipped a division. He's in his promos to Gold 2 (or Gold 1, seeing as his winrate is pretty solid).
Yay, Gold II. Getting there :) School means I can't really play more than two a day, so as long as I keep winning more than I lose I'll be able to get to Plat before the season ends. Screens below. War's carrying pretty hard with Veigar. He's in his promos to Plat next game if we win.

What I Know ► Gottah watch out for Naut hooks. This game whenever I was hooked, I shielded Ashe straight away and she whaled on the enemy ADC, meaning I never got hurt. This was an interesting experience and now I know to do that from now on. What I Want to Know ► Sure, Heim can be a nightmare in All for One, but is he really viable for ranked? What I Learnt ► As soon as you buy Mikael's, Rammus chooses to never taunt anyone ever again (and I bought Mikael's straight after Talisman). ► Really fun game overall. And there's my S rank back again :D This was also the game that I got Guardian on Janna ^^ |

? What I Know ► Last pick said in lobby, "support only", which meant I had to 2nd pick a jungler. Just went for an overall safe pick that I am comfortable playing - Warwick. As I was up against Yi, I knew that I'd need to be vigilant with my camps and take control of Scuttle. I think I only missed two Scuttle Crabs all game. What I Want to Know ► Is 21 minutes in too late for Sated Devourer? I tried super hard to get it going. I think it was a bit of a mistake on my part because I got FB top lane and then went bot to feed Vayne a double kill BEFORE I got upgraded Machete. I need to learn to recall if I've got gold. ► Check out my LP! 31, noiiiiice. Why is it so high? Last game I got 27 and the game before that only 21 or something. What's up with the fluctuation? What I Learnt ► BotRK active is a great way to ► I'm okay with not getting kills/dealing damage as long as I set the kills up or am a huge utility for my team. ► My jungle was clean 90% of the time, and 90% of my CS is from the jungle. So either I need to get in the lanes and take creeps, or I need to be invading enemy jungle far more than I am. My CS in this game is pretty poor. |
Promos to Gold I :)

What I Know ► Janna is a great pick against Kindred AND Katarina. Just gottah ult enemy team out of Kindred's ult and/or Q/ult Kat when she goes in. Simple. What I Want to Know ► Is Kindred ban-worthy? What I Learnt ► Never surrender. At the 25 minute mark of this game I was 0/1/1. They'd just killed Vayne and Ekko bot lane. They went to do Baron. Nasus and I raced up there. They were still low from the previous fight and Nasus, Veigar and I stomped them. It was beast. We then smashed down their mid lane destroying two turrets and an inhib. Meanwhile Vayne split bot. We then just took the win. ► Heart Janna. |

? What I Know ► War's now Plat 5 and so our opponents will all be Plat too. Gottah play a little more safe to get a better feel for the opposing skill level. ► Going to have to get Aegis against LB. What I Want to Know ► This is the first time I've seen a MF in ranked. Is it because she's a bad pick for ranked, or can she be only successfully played in Plat? iykwim. ► I picked Janna before Soraka, but found Soraka to be a super annoying support. All she did was heal (obvs). How to counter Soraka in lane? What I Learnt ► lol, Rengar has 1500 ranked games as Rengar. He really did go ham. ► It's okay to just pick support, even if someone else has called it. The Malph originally wanted support. He did a great job top. I feel as if it was a win/win. |

Yeah, was a pretty awesome late-game teamcomp :3 This Kindred we just played with was pretty decent, so it's... hard to say. She seems to be such a polarising champion, you can't be mediocre, only good or bad.

What I Know ► They have a lot of CC. Might have been better to pick Morgana. How much CC and engage is required for a Morg pick over Janna? What I Want to Know ► What champion counters Veigar? Michael's been pretty undefeated mid lane. Maybe Michael's Diamond or something. That'd be nice ^^ What I Learnt ► Don't hesitate to ult. It's better to waste it than to be too late casting it. Not that I ever let anyone die doing this, but I always worried that I'll waste my ult, or interfere with other champion abilities on my team. Like J4 helping sort of thing. |

If you just stick to those 6 you don't ever need to ban anything else.
I don't rly consider Garen/Skarner a priority ban over Tahm Kench
