A couple ADs build
Trinity Force.
Some build
Black Cleaver situationally.
Hexdrinker is an option.
Wriggle's Lantern is an option.
I sometimes get
Frozen Mallet as my survivability item if I'm doing well.
Some players (I think it was Chaox, not sure) actually have played AD carries with atmog's builds. Very tanky and lots of damage. It's not as static a role as you make it out to be, but it's probably more standardized than other roles.

Thanks to Jovy for the sig!
There really isn't a whole lot of variation available. It's why the "ideal" build is generally the same for most of them. There are some nuances, as Psi pointed out. Ezreal makes good use out of sheen, whether or not he gets triforce later, for example.
But since most AD carries are supposed to be fast-attacking, hard-hitting machines (generally speaking), you'll wind up with the same overall build for most of them. The order is the only real difference, along with whatever kind of counterbuilding you have to do.
Short answer: there's a standardized thought process, but if something wins, it works. No matter how different it is. End of story.

But arent there any situation where you might want to build something else? I thought so, but every single player in the game disagreed last time I did. (Now let me say I build the stuff mentionned above like 90% of the time) The other team's Katarina was fed, the maokai's saplings hurted a LOT and the support zilean we crushed in lane net 3 kills for some reason. Our team was made of : Poor Leblanc, feeding Voilibear, Nautilus in the jungle, the support and I.
Since we had no damage at all, after i finished IE and PD i figured : well, i cant really build banshee, nor QSS, we already only tickle them. Deciding not to go all in for damage, I thought Wit'S End would give me what i need in order to survive while not sacrificing too much damage. It actually worked pretty well even though we lost, I managed to survive long enough in fight to deal massive damage.
Teamates as well a opponents insulted me for doing so.
Similar stuff happened when I played Tristana. Decent Leblanc on the other side, but fed AD jungler and top. I went IE Mallet Atma. The AD couldnt beat me, and Mallet gave me just enough Hp so i can survive a LB burst. We won even though temates called me a ****** all game long.
TL;DR Do you SOMETIMES change your ranged AD build in ODD situations, or playing AD is made for ******ed people?
