Introducing Fiora REVAMPED

..........Hey, I'm Kalteran. This is my second Fiora guide as you may have noticed. The first guide was the first guide I had ever made and it definitely needed to be redone. There was a lot of good feedback and a lot of trolls downvoting and from all of that comes Fiora - The Deadly Duelist, an in-depth solo top guide, REVAMPED. A link to the first guide can be found here.

..........You might be wondering, "Well why didn't you just update your other guide, **********er?" Firstly, I appreciate the endearing nickname! Secondly, almost every section of this guide has been redone in terms of both formatting and content. This guide is as similar to my other guide as it is to other Fiora guides.

..........All I can ask of you is that you read this guide in its entirety before judging it. This guide has a ton of information and it has taken me a long time to compile it. If you honestly believe that there is a reason to downvote, please share some constructive criticism in the comments section.

..........As a second favor to me, if you notice any errors in grammar/punctuation/formatting, I would love for you send me a quick message. I've done my best to proofread the guide, but there are thousands and thousands of words. I would love for this guide to be perfect and your help would be greatly appreciated!

..........If you find this guide helpful, do please take the time to upvote, maybe even leave a comment. This guide is for all of you so I would love to hear about your success!

Thanks to everyone who has helped make this guide possible!

Why This Build?

..........This is not a tanky build. This is not an on-hit build. This is not a SUPER Blade Waltz build. This is a sustained DPS build. The goal of this build is to be able to do tons of damage during the end game even when your skills are on CD. Until you get pretty deep in your build you will indeed be reliant on your skills, but that is normal for most champions.

..........When you reach full build you will be critting significantly more often than not and doing over a thousand damage with every crit. You will also be attacking extremely quickly. You will also be able to lifesteal back to full health in seconds. Do not mistake this build for something that it is not.

..........People have argued that a squishy Fiora is a bad Fiora. This is simply not true. With your skill package, you will be able to avoid focus and survive very well once you have become adjusted to her play-style. As an Ad Carry your job is to focus the enemy carries and tear the to shreds. With this build you will destroy any carry in a matter of seconds.

Fiora - The Grand (Deadly) Duelist

LORE
As the youngest child of the noble House Laurent, Fiora always considered herself destined for greatness. The Laurents had dominated the dueling culture of Demacia's aristocracy for centuries, and Fiora's father was regarded as one of the finest swordsmen the nation had ever seen. Inspired by his tales of glory, Fiora began training as soon as she could wield a blade and quickly showed greater talent than any of her siblings. As she grew older, her self-confidence and rigid discipline only widened the gulf of expertise between Fiora and her peers. Her fellow duelists perceived her confidence as arrogance, but none could defeat her in combat, and each victory only heightened her lofty self-esteem. Even so, Fiora never allowed herself to become complacent in her training, and she drove herself ever harder to become a worthy successor to her father's legacy.

Her devotion turned out to be misplaced. On the eve of an arranged duel, Fiora's father was caught slipping a slow paralysis poison into his opponent's drink. Following the incident, many of his past opponents came forward with their own accusations: envenomed weapons, bribery, blackmail, and more. In an instant, he had destroyed his family's honorable reputation. Fiora was outraged. Not only had her hero betrayed her ideals, but Demacia's dueling elite now doubted her own ability. She desperately wanted to wipe the stain from her family's history but, even more, she wanted the world to acknowledge her mastery. She found her solution in the one arena where she could fight the world's strongest warriors without being accused of dishonesty: the League of Legends.
''Fiora's ego would be insufferable if it wasn't so . . . justified.'' -Jarvan IV

Why Play Fiora?

SPACESPACESPACESPACESPACE.... SPACESPACESPACESPACESPACE....

.......... Fiora is a Melee AD Carry. There are many AD carries and many of them are even ranged. Why would anyone want to play Fiora?!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
..........1. Skill Set - Her skill set is one of the best I have ever seen. There have been many complaints in the forums that Riposte should parry turret shots and on-hit effects and such, but that just isn't needed. She is built well.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
..........2. Not Item Dependent - She can't go an entire game with one item (like Morgana with a Doran's Ring), but I've won games with Mercury's Treads, Wriggle's Lantern, and a Vampiric Scepter. By the time we destroyed the enemy nexus, I had seven thousand gold in the bank. It's always nice to know that you will be useful even before you reach full build.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
..........3. Tons of Fun - Fiora is literally the most fun champion I have ever played. I've never LULZ'ed quite as much while playing league.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Why Solo Top?

..........You might be wondering, "Who let the girl with pink hair go top, **********er?" You might be asking questions such as, "y arent u in the bot lane fiora?" or "y arent u in the jungler, **********er?" While your grammar is impeccable and I am sure that you have put a lot of thought into where Fiora belongs in a team composition, I think I've put more thought into it.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
..........1. Great Against Common Solo-Top Champions - Fiora was built to fight with the bruisers that are usually soloing the top lane. Her passive, Duelist, give her decent health regen without having to invest any gold. She can parry AAs, as well as some power-up attacks with Riposte, and she is extremely mobile with Lunge and Burst of Speed. She was built to be a duelist and she can take a bruiser one-on-one exceptionally well.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
..........2. She Isn't as Effective Anywhere Else - Fiora simply performs at top capacity when soloing the top lane. Let's look at some of the other options.
Jungle - Most Fioras choose to head into the jungle if they aren't soloing top. While she is a decent jungler, Fiora is missing one very important aspect that I think every jungler should have: built in CC. Unlike Udyr, who has Blazing Stampede to stun, Fiora has no CC unless she invests gold in items. This means that if the enemy simply runs away, there is no way of stopping him. While sometimes you can catch your enemies off guard, there are many junglers that are more capable. ( Fiora is still a really fun jungler though!) Perhaps if you have an Amumu top, Ryze mid, and Lux/ Vayne bottom, you won't need your jungler to have CC.

Middle - While the middle lane still provides Fiora with a solo lane, Fiora has pretty significant trouble with AP Carries, such as Twisted Fate, during the early game. Eventually if you play well enough you will be able to take over the lane, but Fiora shines up top because so often you will have the ability to completely shut down the enemy in your lane. It is usually difficult to shut down most AP Carries until you get some items.

Bottom - The main reason not to run Fiora bottom lane, with a support perhaps, is that she is melee. Until level three there isn't much Fiora can do against a Ranged AD Carry which means for three levels she is going to get very little farm while the enemy carry gets significant farm. Post level three, Fiora can compete, but it's not like AD carries then become candy that can be taken from a baby. They are still spicy jalapenos that must be dealt with accordingly.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
..........3. The Benefits - There are some great benefits to having a solo lane and Fiora is a prime candidate for all of these benefits.
Leveling - Experience is split between every champion that is near a dying minion; therefore, if you are the only champion near the dying minions you will get more experience. One of the most noticeable aspects of having a jungler is letting whoever is in the top lane out-level the duo lanes. Fiora becomes immensely more deadly at level sixteen when her Blade Waltz CD is reduced as far as possible. With her skill set Fiora is a champion that can take on multiple opponents and strive in team fights. Having an AD carry with this skill set that has been able to out-level the enemy team is amazingly useful.

Creep Score - Creep score wins games. AD Carries that have been fed off of Creep Score win games. Having a lane to yourself means that there is zero competition for CS/farm. You're going to be able to feed yourself even if you aren't able to get kills (but you will be able to LULZ). It only takes about fifteen creeps to equal a kill.

Fear Factor - By the time your laning phase is over, it is most likely that your opponent is going to be scared of you. When it comes to end-game team fights, having even a single enemy afraid of you gives you such an advantage. This means that if even if someone might be able to kill you, there is a chance that they might think that you would kill them. This is the difference between living and dying and what saved you? The enemy team continually hearing, "A ally has been slain."

.......... Fiora does indeed have Cons like every other champion, but, except for the fact that she has to get close in order to do damage, it is possible to counteract all of her other Cons. We counteract the fact that she doesn't have a built-in escape with Flash, the fact that she can be hard to perfect with practice, the fact that she is countered by some champions with ganks/lane trades/items, and the fact that she can be torn apart by CC with items. Fiora is a great champ and in the hands of a good player she has no Cons.

Summoner Spells

My Choices

.
Flash
.......... Fiora has no real escapes and therefore needs what Flash can provide her. The great thing about choosing Flash is that not only does it make a great escape, but it makes for a great gap-closer/initiator. Enemy champion fleeing with 20% HP and you are just out of range for Blade Waltz? Flash! Dead! LULZ! Being chased by five enemy champions? Next to a wall? Flash! Gone! LULZ! An all around great Summoner Spell. Honestly, I consider this spell 100% necessary and I would NEVER recommend not taking it.
.

.
Ignite
..........My second Summoner Spell choice. I love the aggressiveness and utility that Ignite provides. It is great when used in combination with your Blade Waltz. During any point of Blade Waltz you are able to cast Ignite on the person targeted by Blade Waltz or anyone in range of that person. Ignite is also very useful in getting kills before level six.

Almost required against high sustain champions such as: Dr. Mundo, Sion, Nidalee, Yorick, Soraka, etc.
.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Other Possible Options
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
. ..........Simply not as good as Flash in my opinion for Fiora. There are some champions that do better with Ghost ( Ashe, Nasus, Xin Zhao), but Fiora is not one of them. Take Flash. .

. ..........Another great choice that can replace Ignite in certain situations. This spell provides both offensive and defensive utility. Offensively the enemy is slowed and can even take more damage when paired with Summoner's Wrath . Defensively the enemy is slowed and does 30/70% less damage. Great to use when being dived under your tower; the slow can keep your opponent under the tower for just long enough and the damage reduction can keep you alive. A great tool when going 1:1 against an equally fed AD carry.

Great counter for certain champions: Nunu & Willump, Fiddlesticks, Garen, Renekton
.

. ..........An amazing summoner spell. This spell provides you with amazing utility and map control. The first Teleport will always be used in lane. This opens up possibilities such as starting with a Doran's Blade. Usually without the sustain of potions you don't want to start with Doran's Blade, but because you have the ability to instantly get back to lane, you can safely utilize this great item. Teleport can also insure that you get the first dragon. Either run to dragon and then Teleport back to lane or vice versa. It can also be a great tool to gank another lane/jungle.

Lane: Have your teammates drop a ward either in a bush or in the middle of the lane closer to the enemies' tower. When the enemy team pushes, Teleport in behind them and secure some kills.

Jungle: Make sure your jungler is warding both their own and the enemy jungle. If you see the enemy jungler running past a ward, perhaps with low health on the way to get a buff, Teleport in and finish them off. This is much riskier since you can't always be sure what the jungler's intentions are.
.

. ..........Obviously viable if you are jungling, but this is a solo-top guide. Never should you take Smite in lane. .

. ..........Not a bad option. The problem with running heal is that Ignite is one of the most common summoner spell choices and there are many healing reduction abilities in the game. This means that the effectiveness of this spell can dramatically be reduced by your enemy and with poor timing this spell can be practically wasted. .

. ..........A very strong summoner spell especially with-in the current meta. With the click of a spell you can remove the DoT from Ignite, the slow and damage reduction of Exhaust, stuns, slows, snares, taunts, etc. Not only does it remove them but Cleanse will also reduce incoming disables for a few seconds. Most commonly Ignite and/or Exhaust are taken in solo lanes. Cleanse can render both of these summoners almost useless. .

Currently: Cleanse > Ignite > Heal > Cleanse
The idea is that Cleanse removes Ignite, Ignite can render Heal almost useless with proper timing, and in a 1:1 at early levels Heal will almost insure victory if the enemy is running Cleanse. Keep in mind what summoner spells your opponent is running in lane.

Masteries

Standard Mastery Choice
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
..........These are pretty standard Masteries for an AD Carry that won't be jungling/isn't mana dependent. The benefits you get from Hardiness , Durability , and Veteran's Scars will help you sustain in lane significantly especially since many popular solo-top champions are AD Bruisers.
Secondary Mastery Option
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
..........If you know who you are going to be laning against and you know it will be an easy lane, this is another option for your masteries. Against easy lane opponents, you want to ward the enemy red/blue buff (whichever is close to you) and take it. With this mastery page you will get the extra movement speed from Swiftness which will help you travel around and the extra jungle buff time from Runic Affinity will be very useful.

Runes

My Rune Choices

Greater Mark of Desolation . ..........Almost standard for AD Carries. Every champion has default base armor ( Fiora has 78.5 at level eighteen) and being able to penetrate that armor will allow you to get closer to doing true damage. . Greater Mark of Desolation

. ..........The best option for an AD Carry, especially one that is melee. You are going to have to get up close and personal with the enemy team in order to deal damage. Being able to survive longer than a few seconds is going to be absolutely necessary. .

. ..........The best option for an AD Carry, especially one that is melee. You are going to have to get up close and personal with the enemy team in order to deal damage. Being able to survive longer than a few seconds is going to be absolutely necessary. .

Greater Quintessence of Desolation . ..........Again, being able to penetrate armor will allow you to do significantly more damage. Because this build only buys ArPen items when they are required, ArPen runes are very necessary. . Greater Quintessence of Desolation
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Disclaimer
..........Runes are about preferences. I have found these runes to synergize best with my play-style. Please test out different runes to figure out what works best for you. Many people prefer AD runes, but they just haven't worked best for me. If you have multiple rune pages set up than you will be able to pick your runes depending on the enemy composition.

Duelist
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
.
Our main source of sustain early game.
  • Make sure to keep it up by smacking minions, a turret, or an enemy champion. Anything really.
  • Remember that you can get to four stacks by smacking an enemy champion.
  • Remember that if you are above one stack and you smack something other than an enemy champion the passive will not refresh. You will have to wait until it wears off before getting another stack.
.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

.
Our amazing source of mobility.
  • Quickly close the gap between you and the enemy champion by using the first Lunge to jump to a minion.
  • Remember that Lunge will trigger the movement speed buff from Burst of Speed.
  • Great for avoiding enemy ganks. If you have pushed the enemy to their turret and you see the enemy jungler coming from behind, then Lunge to the jungler and quickly back out toward your turret. This closes a lot of distance and puts a lot of distance between you and your lane enemy.
.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

.
Passive Attack Damage and Damage Reflection all in one.
  • Don't disregard the passive Attack Damage. This skill lets us focus on AS and Crit in our build rather than being forced to build AD.
  • Use this on CD in a long teamfight/skirmish.
  • Does not block turret shots.
  • Although this parries AA damage, it will not block any on-hit effects such as the slow from Frost Shot, the poison from Toxic Shot, the stun from Blazing Stampede attacks, etc.
  • Great to use against power attacks such as:
    ..........-Garen's Decisive Strike
    ..........-Wukong's Crushing Blow
    ..........-Nasus' Siphoning Strike
    ..........-Gangplank's Parrrley, etc.
  • Doesn't work against most abilities -- ie: Pantheon's Spear Shot.
.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Burst of Speed
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
.
Our main source of burst damage.
  • So. Much. Damage. Make sure to use it at the right time so as not to waste it. You don't want to be stunned immediately after using this skill.
  • Make sure that you don't forget to use this ability again after slaying an enemy. Leaving this off CD for a long period of time is a serious loss to DPS.
  • Gives you a speed boost that lasts longer than the AS buff. This has buff has several uses.
..........-Being chased by two people who don't have the means to CC you, but they are faster? Turn around, pop E, smack them a few times (preferably no more than three), turn and run. They will be so pissed. First they will be all like, "YEAH COME AT ME BRO!" Then they will be all like, "DUMB *** IS ATTACKING ME! MY TEAMMATE IS GON **** YOU UP!" Then they will be all like, "Y U RUN SO FAST *****?!"
..........-Against many champions you are not going to want to fight them at early levels unless you have the AS buff from Burst of Speed. After you have attacked the enemy for the full AS duration of Burst of Speed, you can run away quickly before they have a chance to retaliate.
.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - -
Blade Waltz
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
.
Our ever useful ultimate.
  • There are myriads of uses for this skill. DO NOT waste it, but DO NOT leave it on CD when it could have saved your life.
  • They try to dive you? Blade Waltz. They eat the entire Blade Waltz (and Ignite if it's up), several turret shots, and you gain health. LULZ. One of the best uses during laning phase.
  • They are sitting under their turret with a small amount of health? Jump on them, Blade Waltz + Ignite. LULZ. Flash away from the turret if necessary.
  • Getting focused in a team fight and it's hurting? Blade Waltz. LULZ. Flash away when it wears off if necessary.
  • Works great with lifesteal and on-hit effects such as the slow from Phage/ Frozen Mallet and Red buff.
  • Keep in mind that when you activate this skill, you are going to land wherever your target is when you finish. If they Flash toward their super turret, that is where you will end up.

..........You are going to always want to start with Riposte. The reason for this is not just the active, but the passive as well. With a bonus fifteen AD you will be able to last hit much more easily. This makes a HUGE difference in your early game farming ability. Being able to parry AAs and some power attacks at level one will help you remain in lane longer.

..........The only time you do not want to start with Riposte is if you are invading. Starting with Lunge will insure that you can be a part of the fight, either getting a kill or an assist. The problem with doing this is that when you return to lane, you will not have Riposte until level two. This makes last hitting and surviving a tad bit harder.

..........As the game progresses and you continue to level, you will want to, of course, prioritize Blade Waltz over every other skill. Max Burst of Speed before any of your other abilities as it will provide the most consistent damage. Afterward, max Riposte for the bonus AD, and end with Lunge.

Post Life Steal Nerf

But My Wriggle's...
..........So we've got a Life Steal Nerf coming. What does that mean for us and what can we do about it? Well, it mostly means nothing except that our early game is getting nerfed a little bit. The only change that MIGHT result from this nerf is that 3 Doran's Blades might become preferable to Wriggle's Lantern depending on how much they nerf it. Wriggle's Lantern is so useful at the moment that I don't believe that will be the case, but I will update the guide if that does indeed happen. They would have to drop the life steal pretty ****ing significantly for this change to occur.

..........Basically, nothing has changed for us post life steal nerf. Wriggle's Lantern is still our best first buy, still over three Doran's Blades, and Bloodthirster is still best right after Wriggle's Lantern and a possible Phage.

Item Explanation / Item Sequence

Item Explanation
.......... Wriggle's Lantern - Gives you armor, attack damage, life steal, a great passive, and a free ward. The effects turn into sustain and DPS, the passive makes last-hitting/farming/grabbing jungle camps easier, and the ward saves you 75g every three minutes. One of the best first items for an AD solo lane. Check out the later section about why we get Wriggle's Lantern instead of stacking three Doran's Blades.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
.......... Mercury's Treads - Speeeed. For more information on specific boot selection, check out the section entitled, "Boots?!."
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
.......... Bloodthirster - Provides a lot of damage and life steal which translates into DPS and sustain. 100% necessary as the first big buy. I've won games with over twenty kills and the last item I had to spend gold on was Bloodthirster because I simply didn't have to back. Make sure to be aware of your stacks throughout the game and to stack it when you have the opportunity. After the upcoming life steal nerf, you will only lose half of your stacks upon death.

.......... Infinity Edge and Phantom Dancer - Provides attack damage, attack speed, movement speed, crit chance, and crit damage. When these items have been completed you will be attacking extremely quickly and doing a ton of damage. At this point you will no longer be reliant on your skills. You will be able to burst and enemy carry down even when Burst of Speed and Blade Waltz are on CD.

.......... Frozen Mallet - Provides health, damage, and a very awesome slow. The main reason to get mallet is that you can get an early Phage so that you can have some form of CC for a large portion of the game. Getting the Phage right after your second Vampiric Scepter will allow you to insure that enemies are unable to get away and you can do so pretty early in the game.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
..........Replacing Wriggle's Lantern:
.................... Youmuu's Ghostblade - Provides attack damage, crit chance, cooldown reduction, armor penetration, and a great active ability. This item syncs amazingly well with the current build. The extra crit helps with the Infinity Edge/ Phantom Dancer combo, the attack damage increases DPS, the cooldown reduction will further the use of your great abilities, the armor penetration will make every attack deal more damage, and OMG DAT ACTIVE. The active is basically Burst of Speed. Use in circumstances that you would use Burst of Speed -- in a skirmish, in a team fight, to push an objective, to secure a Baron/Dragon, etc. The cooldown on the active isn't long so make sure you are using it. If you do not use the active, Youmuu's Ghostblade is not worth the price.

.................... Last Whisper - It is imperative that you get this item if the enemy carries start to get armor. If the enemy team is made up of tanks and bruisers, then this is 100% necessary.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
..........The Second Phantom Dancer - Throughout the course of my first guide, this item was the cause for some controversy. Let's look at the reasoning behind this item.

..........It's important to think about this second Phantom Dancer in context. This item will replace Mercury's Treads and it will be the very last item you buy. These are two very important aspects.

..........The fact that this item is replacing Mercury's Treads means that you are about to lose a lot of movement speed; therefore, you need an item that is going give you a significant boost in movement speed. Phantom Dancer gives the most movement speed in the game other than boots and even with Phantom Dancer, you are going to lose about 10 movement speed. This is doubly important because it means that you DEFINITELY do NOT replace your boots if you have been being CC'ed. YOU KEEP THAT TENACITY, SUSAN! YOU ****ING KEEP IT!

..........In terms of this item being the very last item and all that jazz: this means that you will only ever buy this Phantom Dancer if you have already bought Wriggle's Lantern, Mercury's Treads, Bloodthirster, Infinity Edge, Phantom Dancer, Frozen Mallet, AND Youmuu's Ghostblade. Do you know how much gold that is?! DO YOU?!? That is 18,412g. EIGHTEEN-THOUSAND. FOUR-HUNDRED. AND TWELVE GOLD. This is an item you will rarely you get to. The point of this item is to min/max the build for those really long games.

..........So, in summary, yes, this second Phantom Dancer is going to almost put you up to the AS cap. This does indeed mean that a portion of your additional AS from Burst of Speed will go wasted. However, this is not a problem! Burst of Speed will still be extremely useful. Phantom Dancer is literally the only viable item to replace your boots with if a game gets to that point.

55 Attack Speed and 30 Crit Chance > 10 Movement Speed and Tenacity
(ONLY IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN NEEDING THE TENACITY)
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Item Sequence
..........Most often you will be starting in lane with Cloth Armor and 5 Health Potions. Lets look at the item sequence following this starting option.

..........Your main goal is to get Wriggle's Lantern and Mercury's Treads as soon as possible; however, it is usually unwise to try to stay in lane until you have 2500g and usually not possible. Most games I will have gotten a kill at level six or before and will return to lane with a Vampiric Scepter and/or Boots and a sight ward. Generally you will follow this buy order: { }>{ }>{ }>{ }>{ }>{ } >{ }>{ }.

..........One thing to keep in mind is that before you get Wriggle's Lantern, you need to have your lane warded. Sometimes I will have games where I'm able to stay in lane so long that I ask my jungler to pick me up a ward; however, it takes time before he can do so. If you are going to be going "b" before you have enough gold for Wriggle's Lantern, you need to go ahead and buy a sight ward or two. You DO NOT want to let your lane enemy get a free kill because you didn't know the enemy jungler was coming. I'll talk more about warding in a later section.

..........The next items you will be buying are a Phage and Bloodthirster. With Wriggle's Lantern you will most likely have enough sustain that unless the enemy get's lucky with a successful gank, you will be in control of when you go back. Often, I will be able to buy my second Vampiric Scepter when I got Wriggle's Lantern/ Mercury's Treads. After that, the priority is as follows: { }>{ }>{ }>{ }>{ }>{ }.

..........At this point in the game, you are going to have a ton of sustain, a slow, and the damage to get kills when the opportunity presents itself. This means that you will more or less be in control of when you go back to buy your items. My buy pattern at this point in the game will usually look something like this:
Zeal --> B. F. Sword --> Infinity Edge --> Zeal into a Phantom Dancer --> Phage into a Frozen Mallet. Somewhere during this buying sequence is when you will probably buy your first elixir. Please check the later section on elixirs to get information about when to buy them and which ones to buy.

..........If the game has lasted to this point, most likely one or both teams are pushed to their nexus and there is some mad turtling going on. This is when you want to start replacing a couple of your items to min/max what you are going to be able to do in combat. First, replace your Wriggle's Lantern with a Youmuu's Ghostblade (or Last Whisper) when you have enough gold. Second, replace your Mercury's Treads with a second Phantom Dancer when you have the gold. Look above this sequence for descriptions of these greats items.

Other Item Options

MOAR ITEMS
..........This section is devoted to giving you other options for your build. Depending on the flow of the game, how fed you get, how fed the enemy team gets, who is fed on the enemy team, whether you are pushing or being pushed, whether you are getting neutral objectives like Baron/Dragon, and so many other factors, your build will most likely fluctuate throughout the course of the game. If you play any champion and hope to always follow the same building pattern every single game, you aren't going to do well.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
--DEFENSE--
. One of the very few defensive items I ever find myself building. The defensive stats are great and the added bonus of the passive make this an amazing item. .

. A very good item if you need some quick magic resistance. This item gives high passive magic resistance as well as the ability to block a single ability every forty-five seconds. A lot of people have mixed feelings on this item, but it is a good choice if the enemy AP carry gets very fed. .

. A great item if an enemy AD carry has gotten a lot more fed than you are. The best thing about this item is the price. You get a ton of armor, a great passive, and it's only 2000g. You are not likely to lose a 1v1 against another AD carry with a Thornmail. .

. Not my favorite item, but a decent item that gives a lot of health. Best if used in combination with Atma's Impaler. Not usually something I would recommend for an AD carry. .
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
--DAMAGE--
. An amazing item that can sync very well with Fiora. One of the main reasons I avoid this item is cost. I incorporate the slow into the build elsewhere and I just find that I can get bigger bang for my buck with the current set-up I have. .

. I'm pretty sure I'm only mentioning this item because it needs to be mentioned. Basically this item is for when you are so far ahead and just feel like trolling. I buy this item maybe .02% of the games I play. .

. This was a very popular item when Fiora first came out, but it doesn't belong in this build and I consider it more for trolling than competitive play. The Tiamat does not provide consistent damage and by it's very nature is situational. I prefer to be able to do consistent damage even when I don't have Blade Waltz and/or the enemies aren't stacked. .

. A highly situational item. This is only really useful if you are facing an extremely fed Sion, Dr. Mundo, or some other champion that has an outrageous means of regenerating their health. Because I play with Ignite I've never found myself in need of this item, but if you prefer Exhaust or another Summoner Spell, this might be useful for you in some games. .

. A great item that gives you a lot of magic damage, which you can stack quickly with your Burst of Speed, and a lot of magic resistance at the same time. Unfortunately this item doesn't really find it's way into my build as it doesn't mesh well in any area. Some games I choose this over Youmuu's Ghostblade if I have the money for this and not that when I'm forced to back somehow. I simply think there are better items for one of those six precious slots. .

. A great item that gives you AS, Armor, and Damage as well as a high damage passive, particularly against enemies with a lot of health. Similar to Trinity Force, one of the main reasons I don't purchase this item is the expense. This item would not fit nicely into my current build although it would fill my desire to do significant damage even when my skills are on CD. If for some reason I am absolutely rolling in cash, I may replace Wriggle's Lantern with this instead of Youmuu's Ghostblade. .

. A high damage item that lowers an enemy's armor. This is a great choice for Fiora, especially since it will apply the debuff when she uses Blade Waltz. The reason that I don't generally buy this item is because I usually don't need it. With my rune setup and mastery page, I have significant ArPen already. The only time more ArPen is needed is if the enemy carries begin to build armor (such as a Thornmail/ Guardian Angel), but in that case, I usually opt for a Last Whisper as it provides more ArPen. .

. A good item when combined with Frozen Mallet/ Warmog's Armor. I find that this combination is better reserved for tanks and bruisers though. I feel that Atmog's and Atmallet simply don't have a place in an AD Carry's inventory. .

Wriggle's vs Doran's

Early Game Options
Wriggle's Lantern = 1600g -- 30 Armor, 23 Attack Damage, 12 Life Steal, a ward every 3min (75g every 3min), and the passive.

3 Doran's Blades = 1425 -- 300 HP, 30 Attack Damage, 9 Life Steal.

..........So Wriggle's Lantern will give you more life steal (more sustain), save you 75g every three minutes, and allow you to kill minions MUCH quicker. HP is okay, but the thing about it is that it can just be poked off and then doesn't come back. I prefer to have that 300 less hp and 6% more life steal. The amount of money this will save you on wards is also a lot. (Say you get Wriggle's Lantern at ten minutes in. Game lasts 45 minutes? That's around 1125g saved from buying wards.)

..........The other benefit is that all of the bonuses for wriggle's lanern are condensed into one item. This means that only one of your precious six item slots will be taken up rather than three. This means that when you start building your other items you won't have to give up a part of that early game bonus before you actually want to. You can keep Wriggle's Lantern until you replace it outright, which is not something you can do with three Doran's Blades.

Boots?!

Which Boots Can I Take? It's Frida-
..........Just kidding about the song. Anyway, which boots you take in a given game is a very important choice to make. Boots are one of the first items you get so you will use their benefits more than any other item basically. Which benefits you choose can make a huge difference in your performance.

.......... Mercury's Treads - These should be your go to boots 85% of games. I'm not sure about the exact statistic, but somewhere north of 60% of champions have CC. This means that in a 5v5 situation, the enemy team is most likely going to have some decent CC. CC is the bane of Fiora. It will take everything she's good at and simply demolish it. You will receive 35% less CC from slows, snares (root/immobilize), blinds, silences, stuns, taunts, fears, dance ( Crescendo), and charm ( Charm). This means that if you do get hit with any of these suckers, there will be 35% less time wasted before you can Lunge on an enemy carry, Blade Waltz to save your life, etc. This. Is. AMAZING.

.......... Ninja Tabi - These are the boots you want to get if the enemy team is 4/5 AD and doesn't have strong CC. Yep. That's not often. You won't be buying these devils often at all because they simply aren't as good as Mercury's Treads.

.......... Berserker's Greaves - Everyone on the enemy team is really bad and you haven't been focused once with CC or by the enemy carries? Go ahead and get these since more damage matters in that situation. Do you know how many games this will occur in? Pretty much none.

..........So, in summary, almost always you will be purchasing Mercury's Treads. You might be thinking, "i thought u sed this wus a guide fer an ad carry, **********er." That's a viable thought and well organized! You might also, in addition, be thinking, "if im dpsin im getting dps boots, **********er." Another well thought out sentence! The fact of the matter is that people who play AD Carries often find themselves only wanting to buy items that increase DPS directly; however, if you are dead, do you know how much DPS you do? Zero. Big, fat, **********ing, goose egg.

Elixirs - When and Which

Fortigility
..........Many people do not know about the usefulness of elixirs and what they can do for you. The most common belief is that once you are full build, you should go ahead and buy ALL the things. While that is a great thing to do, elixirs can come in handy well before you reach full build. Let's take a look at the two you would/should be purchasing before you reach that full build point.

.......... Elixir of Fortitude - This is going to give you an instant heal that is not affected by healing reduction. When you are facing an enemy that has a strong DoT or DaT ( Requiem, Children of the Grave, Ace in the Hole, Time Bomb, Ignite etc.) this little baby can save your life and make them rage. The benefit of the bonus attack damage and the fact that the health persists are both great reasons to buy one of these. Most often, you will have the opportunity to purchase your first Elixir of Fortitude when you are saving up for the B. F. Sword for Bloodthirster. Keep it in your inventory until you need it for that last second boost of hp.

.......... Elixir of Agility - When you reach the point in the build that your Phantom Dancer and your Infinity Edge are both complete, you should do your best to keep this elixir on at all times. The extra crit chance and attack speed can make a world of difference in combat. Your next purchases will be Frozen Mallet and Youmuu's Ghostblade at 1935g and 1567g so it should't be hard to find yourself with an extra 250g. You won't have any extra item slots so when you purchase this elixir (you have to be alive to do so) it will activate immediately.

..........Worth mentioning are both the Elixir of Brilliance and Oracle's Elixir. Both of these are going to be items that you won't be purchasing really until your build is complete. Oracle's Elixir is a great tool, but the problem is that you are squishy. One mistake and that 400g is absolutely wasted. Your team will be better served if someone else carries the Oracle's Elixir. When you have reached full build it won't really matter since you won't really have anything else to spend gold on.

Red Pot, Blue Pot, One Pot, Two Pot

Actually, 3-4 Pots
..........First, let's talk about how to get Boots and 4 Health Potions before you enter lane a single time. If you stand in the following two locations for blue base (on the left) and purple base (on the right) you will still be in range of the store. The plan is that you simply stand in these locations, wait for the extra 15g after minions spawn, and then immediately run to lane. You will arrive in lane before a single minions dies and no harm will be done.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
..........Now, let's consider when it is a good idea to get that fourth Health Potion and when you are better off sticking with three. If you are invading the enemy's jungle, for god's sake do not sit at your nexus, you tool. Sending your team in to invade the jungler without you because you wanted to get an extra pot is beyond stupid, Sally.

..........How about when you aren't invading? Well, your jungler and your mid have vision on your team's blue buff; your bottom lane has vision on your team's red buff. Everything is covered. Go ahead and start waiting for that pot. But, wait. What's that? An enemy spotted near your blue buff? Get the hell over there. Do not leave your team at the mercy of the enemy team simply because you wanted that fourth pot.

..........To summarize, that fourth Health Potion will give you some pretty significant extra lane sustain. The downside is that you have to wait in your base to get it. NEVER wait for that extra potion if there is some kind of level one fight going to happen. In that situation, either just get Cloth Armor and 5 Health Potions or just get 3 Health Potions with your Boots. Most games you will be starting with Cloth Armor and 5 Health Potions anyway, so this usually won't come into play.

How to Ward Well

Warding 101
..........Warding is one of the most important aspects of playing this game. Wards win games. It's that simple. Let's take a look at the following image so we can see when and where to place wards when laning in the top lane.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
..........Red - The most important location for you to ward. This is going to give you vision of the enemy ganker moving from the river into the river bush or the purple team's tri-bush. The easiest place to gank someone is from the river. If you take away the enemies ability to get through the river unseen, then you have made ganking you that much harder. You will almost always want to drop you Wriggle's Lantern here so that you can also have the timer for the ward in your inventory.

..........Orange - This is the location that you will ward if you find that you don't have the awareness to see the enemy gankers before they enter the river bush. You lose a pretty significant range of vision outward, but at least you'll be able to see the pesky gankers camping in your bush. This is also useful when someone tries to run away. Being able to have vision inside the bush means that you will not lose any targeting ability against the enemy champion.

..........Yellow - These locations will provide you with extra protection against enemy ganks. If you are on the purple team and you are pushing your lane enemy onto their turret, it can be necessary, even essential sometimes, to ward your tri-bush. Getting sandwiched can easily lead to a death if you don't pay close attention and use your skills well. This will give you the vision to prevent that situation.

..........Blue - Do you have an unwanted bush camping Nidalee in your lane? Well ward those bushes. If you get the advantage of putting the ward down while the enemy isn't in lane, you will also have the element of surprise. You will be able to Lunge onto the enemy when they think that they are all nice and safe and invisible. Not often will you need to resort to warding these bushes, but it can be very useful at times and even lead to kills.

..........Green - These locations are for when you are dominating your lane and are going to have time to go steal a jungle buff from the enemy. If you are on the blue team, ward the enemy red; if you are on the purple team, ward the enemy blue. These buffs will greatly help you in lane and it will greatly help you in lane that the enemy jungler does not get their buffs. Try to ward the bushes a couple minutes before the buff will most likely come up: 7:20; 13:50; 19:00. Laning phase will probably be over well before 19:00 minutes.

Dat Combo

C-C-Combo
..........It's not a combo breaker -- just a combo. Anyway, upon reaching level three, you have your full combo. Why is Blade Waltz not a part of Fiora's combo you ask? Well because it has a long CD and combos should be repeatable often. So let's look at Fiora's basic combo and the two ways you are going to use it.

..........****ing Kids Up - First step, get in range of Lunge and prepare yourself mentally to hurt your opponent. This can become mentally taxing sometimes -- all the pointless slaughter, that is. Anyway, your combo is going to look like this from that point: Lunge --> Burst of Speed --> AA --> Lunge --> Many AAs. Now, you might be wondering, "y dunt u use burst of sped b4 u use lunge? dat stax it faster, **********er." Well, that is a very literate concern you have there. Let's address it. You wait to use Burst of Speed so that you don't waste it. There are times, such as in the champion spotlight, when Fiora players will use Burst of Speed before Lungeing onto an enemy. At this point, many things can happen. The enemy could Flash away. The enemy could go invisible. Basically, this is to insure that you don't have to wait around like a derp for your Burst of Speed to come off of CD.

..........Harassing - The only difference between this combo and the one above is that you are going to use the bonus movement speed from Burst of Speed for another advantage, besides being able to stick to your enemy. Against many champions, you are not going to want to fight them without your Burst of Speed at early levels. The solution? Pounce on them; when the the AS buff from Burst of Speed wears off, you use the bonus movement speed that you have stacked up to move back to safety. This means that early on in lane, you can Lunge onto your opponent without having to worry about being dominated.

..........But where does Riposte fit in? Most of the time, when you Lunge onto an opponent, they are not going to want to stay and fight you. In these circumstances, you do not want to activate Riposte just to have the mana go to waste. In these circumstances, you instead need to wait until it is obvious that the enemy wants to engage you in return. Sometimes this will be when the AS from Burst of Speed wears off. Sometimes this will be immediately. Either way, you want to make sure that when you activate Riposte the enemy is either going to attack you or notice it and stop attacking you so that they don't take damage.

..........In the "In-Depth Champion Match-Ups" section of this guide I talk a lot about this combo. Keep this combo in mind while you read about individual match-ups.

Early Game

Early
..........A lot of what you do early game is going to depend on who you are laning against. Check the "In-Depth Champion Match-Ups" section for more information on unique match-ups. Let's talk about what you will be doing most often at the start of the game though.

..........Off the spawn, go ahead and buy your items (generally Cloth Armor and 5 Health Potions). The next step is going to depend on what your team is doing. In most situations you can go sit by your team's red buff to make sure that the enemy team does not steal it. If your team is invading, stay with them and move toward the enemies' jungle (most likely toward blue buff).

..........If you were just guarding red buff, you can go ahead and head to your lane around 1:45. Do not run into the middle of the lane until your team has vision on a few of the enemies. You would hate to have all of the enemies jump out of your bush to come and **** you up. When you can be sure that you aren't being camped, go ahead and start getting the farm.

..........If you were invading, you are going to want to have your team camp in a bush near the enemies' jungle. Invading is preferable if you have someone on your team with a ranged snare, stun, pull, etc. When you move from the river bush into the jungle bush, there may be an enemy camping there for vision. If your team can CC them long enough to insure that the whole team can smack them, they will be dead easy. Wait until around the time that minions spawn before you move from the river bush into the jungle bush. After getting that first kill or finding the bush empty, move to the enemies' blue buff bush. Establish dominance of the bush, let your jungler or AP mid get the blue buff, and quickly go to lane so that you can get your farm.

..........So whether you invaded or not, you are now in the laning phase trying to get experience and farm. Fiora is pretty damn weak until level three when she gets all of her abilities; therefore, your game plan is not to engage and to punish an enemy if they engage. At level one you will have Riposte. This means that if the enemy tries to AA you, go ahead and parry the attack so that they eat some damage and you are alright. Go ahead and give them a smack or two as well. When you get to level two you will have Burst of Speed. You do not want to engage and you only want to pop this if the enemy has committed to engaging (you do not want to waste the mana otherwise). So your first two levels are spend trying to get dominance over the farm while conserving mana and taking as little damage as possible. At this level you are also going to want to be extra vigilant that you do not get ganked. Ganks can do a lot of damage to you, especially before you get Blade Waltz, if you aren't careful.

..........When you are level three, the game changes for you dramatically in almost every match-up. Depending on who you are facing, you are going to want to engage them and use your skills to get around the effects of their skills. If they have a stun/snare, then wait until after it wears off to use your second Lunge and Burst of Speed. Again, read more about this in the "In-Depth Champion Match-Ups" section. It should be relatively easy for you to establish dominance at this point in the game and to make them scared of you. Try to wittle them down and keep leveling up your Burst of Speed until level six.

..........You are now level six and have just put your first point in Blade Waltz. During most games, this is when you will be getting your first kill. Get the enemy low and then use Blade Waltz and Ignite, even if they are on their turret. Diving is relatively easy with Fiora if you are smart about it. Keep in mind any CC that the enemy might have.

..........So during the early game phase your goal is to stay alive and get as many kills and as much farm as possible. You will also want to try to push over the enemy tower as soon as possible. This will give every member of your team a gold advantage over the enemy. Always remember to ask your jungler for ganks. They might think that you don't need them, but before you get Wriggle's Lantern, they are immensely useful. After you get Wriggle's Lantern, it would probably be better for the jungler to worry about other lanes. At that point you should be pretty far ahead of the enemy lane partner.

Mid Game

Later
..........At this point in the game one or several towers have probably died. This means that, to avoid over-extending, the champions that have destroyed towers are now going to be roaming the map trying to secure kills in other lanes. This will usually be you.

..........Because people have started to roam, it means that team fights are going to start popping up now. You should not be in your lane farming if there is a team fight happening. So what is your goal during these team fights? It's to kill the enemy team before you team dies? Do you know how you do that? You do more damage faster than the enemy team can. Do you know how you do that? You kill the enemies that can deal the most damage and are squishy, first. These are going to be the enemy AP and AD Carries as well as the supports. First, you will want to focus on the Carries.

..........NEVER initiate a team fight if you don't have to. Although you have a skill set that lets you thrive in team fights, you are still an AD Carry and you are still squishy. Once the team fight has been initiated, try to get close enough so that you can Lunge onto an enemy Carry. At this point you will be shredding them with you Burst of Speed. If you start to get low on health, get the enemy low on health, get focused, or any other situation that you would benefit from your ultimate, go ahead and use Blade Waltz. Although you definitely do not want to waste your ultimate, you also don't want to leave it on CD if it could have saved your life.

..........A great survival trick that I mentioned in the tips about Blade Waltz is to Flash out of combat as soon as it ends. The enemy team, who has been focusing you, will at first be like, "The ****?" Then they'll be all like, "Oh, she's so low I'll just wait for this to end." Then they'll see you Flash and be like, "Well **** maybe I should have been doing something other than derping for the past four seconds."

Late Game

Even Later
..........Late Game is all about team fights and objectives. Do your best to help your team win team fights and remember what the goal of those team fights is. The goal is not to kill the enemy champions; that is a sub-goal. The goal is to win the game. This means that when you win team fights, you don't immediately back out to go to the store. This means that you push a tower, inhibitor, Baron, Dragon, or something. The score could be 100-20, but if the other team is smarter and pushes if they ace you somehow, then they will win the game. That is all there is to it.

..........Try to insure that your team has map control. Have the map well warded and try to insure that your team is getting the red/blue buffs. These buffs are not overly important, like Baron, but they can help you get the extra edge in a team fight.

..........Basically, end game isn't about farming. It isn't about killing. It's about winning. You are a Carry. You should be fed out the wa-zoo by now. Make sure your team wins and don't be afraid to lead them. You can easily tank the Baron with your abilities and life steal end game and you destroy building structures. Use Vent/Chat/Pings to let your team know what needs to happen. Work with them to win. Against a good team, you will need teammates whether you like it or not.

Ranked

Scores
..........Now first of all, please don't think I'm all like, "AMG LOOK AT MY RANKED STATS! I'M SO GOOD!" On the contrary, I've only played four games with Fiora so far so these aren't amazing. These are simply to give some proof or ranked play and I will update accordingly with my ranked stats.

Gameplay
..........So let's talk about what changes in Ranked vs. Normal gameplay. The main thing is just that you need to try a lot harder and be way more aware. The level of gameplay in the average ranked game is significantly higher than in normal games. This means that if you are the only one fed and you decide to go farm top when four of your teammates are mid, the enemy team will capitalize and take advantage of your failed positioning.

..........The main changes come from the fact that you are playing ranked; not many changes come from playing Fiora in ranked though. The only real suggestion I have is that you can't rely on Fiora to carry you out of ELO Hell necessarily. There are several counters for her and if you pick her do not be surprised if you are counter picked. The best time to go Fiora is if you know who the enemy is sending top. This means that you either have a lower pick, or you can pick for someone lower and then trade them their champ for Fiora. People usually try to play the most overpowered champions in ranked so don't be surprised if you are continuously against the best top champions!

In-Depth Champion Match-Ups

Solo Top
..........This section will discuss specific strategies on how to use your skills to combat the skills of other champions. Please read the guide in its entirety before jumping to this section as the tips will assume a good knowledge of Fiora and her abilities. Note that I have not had the pleasure, nay the privilege, of facing some of the many champions in a solo lane. While I could make assumptions of how to combat their skills, I'd rather get some concrete games in before leading you astray. You're welcome :) It's still pretty evident which items to start with so usually that is still easy to figure out. The other nice thing is that you are unlikely to see most of the unfinished champions against you in a solo lane! I'll update champions as soon as I have the information to do so!

..........Please note that the difficulty ratings are based on my personal experience and may not coordinate with your experiences. Champions that are hard to counter or require you to be aware of their abilities and their CDs have a higher rating.

3 Ahri - Avoid skill shots or you lose. Make sure you stay behind minions so as to not get hit with Charm. Do your best to avoid her Orb of Deception. If you are losing and low health on your turret, definitely back unless Blade Waltz is up or she will dive the **** out of you and you won't be able to do anything. Try to bait Charm in such a way that you can dodge it. If that thing goes on CD, you pounce on her so hard. She can be hard to finish because of her Spirit Rush. If you are going to get the kill make sure you Blade Waltz before she uses Spirit Rush. She'll take you with her if she chooses to use it since you will be attached to her.

3 Akali - Go ahead and get your farm early, don't worry about eating her Mark of the Assassin, you have Health Potions to get your health back. Don't engage her until level three. Try to parry her AAs if she comes at you as well as land a couple if you have the opportunity. Once you are level three it's time to tear her a new one. Use your combo basically on CD. Only pop your Riposte if she tries to fight back -- don't waste the mana if she isn't fighting you. DO NOT Blade Waltz before she uses her twilight pool or while it's on the groud. When he goes invisible Blade Waltz will stop.

3 Alistar - He won't make it too hard for you to farm. Take over quickly. He doesn't have the kind of mana he would need to be able to keep you from farming so just take over the lane. Smack him if he tries to get some farm and zone him out of the money. Once you get your combo go ahead and start smacking him, but make sure you wait until AFTER he uses Pulverize before using Burst of Speed or he will **** you up. You need the AS to win the 1v1 fight. DO NOT dive him unless his Pulverize/ Headbutt are on CD or your using your Blade Waltz or he will destroy. Wither him down until Blade Waltz + Ignite will kill him. Keep his Triumphant Roar in mind and remember that it has a lower CD around dying minions.

4 Amumu - This little pain in the *** will be able to take your damage hard early on. Try to get your farm early but don't try to engage until your combo is ready. Keep his Tantrum and its range in mind as you are getting farm. Use your combo and quickly back out when Burst of Speed wears off. You don't want to stay and fight him without Burst of Speed. Ask for an early gank to get ahead. If he gets tankier before you get damagier then he will wreck you since he does pretty significant damage. Not a champ you want to dive unless you are high in HP or just using Blade Waltz. Keep his Bandage Toss and his Curse of the Sad Mummy in mind.

2 Anivia - Early farm isn't easy. Parry her AAs if she tries and make sure you DODGE Flash Frost. Once you've got your combo up, try to bait her to launch Flash Frost. Dodge it and immediately jump on her. You should be able to rip her to pieces with relative ease! You should be able to control the lane pretty easily once you've put some hurt on. DO NOT forget about Rebirth if you are diving her or something. If you click on her, her buffs will say whether or not it's up. Keep it in mind!

3 Annie - Not too difficult of a lane. Try to get control of the farm early. Parry the early AAs if she tries to smack you with those. Once you get your full combo, you need to bait Pyromania. If she only has 1-2 stacks, go ahead and jump on her and do your combo before running away. If Pyromania is up she will most likely wreck you and it won't be worth it. Once you get [Wriggle's lantern], that changes. You'll have enough sustain that you can Lunge, get stunned, pop Burst of Speed and Lunge again. Go ahead and Blade Waltz as soon as you know it will kill her to avoid getting stunned/destroyed by Summon: Tibbers!

3 Ashe - A pretty straightforward champion, so a pretty straightforward lane. First: make sure that 100% chance crit shot from Focus isn't aimed at you. Her first shot in lane will have the bonus since she won't have shot before, obviously. Hide in the brush or something until she hits a minion. Try to get your farm, but until you have your full combo it's going to be a lot easier for her. Parry as many of her AAs that are fired at you as you can. Once you are level three, you need to establish lane dominance. Go ahead and jump on her and smack her up. It can be difficult to get the first Lunge in if she kites you well. Use the brush to your advantage. If you can predict her Enchanted Crystal Arrow with your Blade Waltz, it's always amusing to here Ashe rage because "you're a broken champion." Remember that Volley can't go through minions so use them as a barrier when possible.

3 Blitzcrank - Make sure to use your abilities around his CC and you should be alright. Be sure not to use Burst of Speed until he has used Rocket Grab and Power Fist. Other than that it's pretty easy. Get the farm, smack him if he comes close. Once you are level three, make sure to run away after finishing your combo unless you are going to be able to kill him. His Overdrive lasts a lot longer than your Burst of Speed so get out of there if he tries to fight you with it at early levels. Your speed boost from Burst of Speed will be higher than his from Overdrive if they are the same level. Later on this won't be a problem and he is just going to be running away. Be extra wary of ganks. Blitzcrank is a CC monster.

2 Brand - Honestly, I'm not sure how Brand is hard for anyone, but that's just me maybe. Early levels he can give you trouble when you are trying to get your farm. If you have to, just sit back until level three. Parry his AAs if he launches them. Once you are level three, there are two options. Against the aggressive-pusher Brand, wait until he uses Pillar of Flame and Conflagration before using your combo. This will insure that he is unable to stun you with Sear (unless Blaze is off CD) while you are messing him up. If he is playing passively and just last-hitting, then try to bait his skills. Run up and last hit stuff but be ready to run. As soon as you see the skills, GTFO. Once they are on CD, tear him a new one. I find Brand's skill shots to be some of the easiest to dodge in the game. Please don't let him destroy you. As a warning, if you can't dodge the skill shots, you are going to be DOMINATED.

4 Caitlyn - A pain in the *** fer shore. She is going to make it very difficult for you to get farm early game. She has intense range and will poke the hell out of you with Piltover Peacemaker. Try to take a as little damage as possible, parrying as many AAs as you can. Try to keep track of her Headshot stacks. If she likes to hit you with the fully stacked shot, then save your Riposte for that. Obviously don't step in her Yordle Snap Traps if possible and try to avoid getting low since Ace in the Hole will destroy you. When you are level three you should be able to jump on her, pop your combo, and then run away with the speed boost. Don't even bother trying to chase if she hits you with 90 Caliber Net and flies away, even if your second Lunge is up.

4 Cassiopeia - Like most ranged AP champions, it can be difficult to get your farm until you establish lane dominance. Try to get as much as possible without taking too much damage and parry her AAs if she tries them. However, the lane isn't too easy once you have your full combo. Because her Noxious Blast has such a short CD, you aren't going to be able to just bait her skills before engaging, like you would with Brand. Definitely, you want to try to bait her Miasma before engaging so that you won't be standing in the pool. Once the AS boost from Burst of Speed wears off, go ahead and back away if she isn't running because if you aren't moving much her skills will be uber easy to land. No matter how careful you are though, she can do a whole lot of damage, really quickly. Try to save up the 1600g for Wriggle's Lantern on your first back. Once you get it, your lane will be uber easy, just like most lanes. Be wary of ganks especially since Petrifying Gaze is either a two second stun or a 60% slow.

3 Cho'Gath - Try get early dominance which shouldn't be too hard. Smack him if he comes at you and do your best to avoid Rupture. Once you are level three and start engaging with your combo, if he consistently uses Rupture and fights back once you jump on him, then save Burst of Speed until you fall gracefully back to the ground and possibly after Feral Scream wears off if he silences you. Be aware that you can still parry his AAs even if he is using Vorpal Spikes. Because of Carnivore you have to make sure that after engaging, you are left with more hp than him so that you can control the farm. If you have to back away, he will refill in seconds. You will do the same once you get Wriggle's Lantern.

3 Dr. Mundo - Use minions to avoid his Infected Bonesaw because he will harass the hell out of you with it. Take control of the farm early, smacking him if he gets close and parrying his AAs when you can. Once you are level three, go ahead and jump on him with your combo. Back away once the AS from Burst of Speed wears off. His Blunt Force Trauma will wreck you otherwise. Once he gets Maximum Dosage he will use it on CD to stay in lane. With just over a minute CD, it can get tough to whittle his health down bit-by-bit. That obviously gets a lot easier after Wriggle's Lantern, but because he will be rushing HP items, it can still be tough. If he pops Maximum Dosage when you are about to finish him off, pop the hell out of your Ignite and finish him off quickly.

2 Ezreal - It's quite easy to get control of the farm early, so go ahead and do it. It's not easy to deny him farm since he is ranged though. Parry his Mystic Shot if he tries to shoot it at you. Once you are level three, go ahead and jump on him. Save your second Lunge until after he uses Arcane Shift. If he uses Arcane Shift to poke your or something silly like that, make sure you tear him to shreds since he'll have no escape. If he is AP, this match-up can be a bit more difficult since his Essence Flux will fly right over minions, but that also means less sustained damage since the CD is some-what long.

4 Fiddlesticks - He can make it pretty difficult for you to get farm/do anything all game. His Terrify ends up as a three second fear and if you jump on him, he'll Bountiful Harvest his health back. What you need to do is be very passive until you get Wriggle's Lantern. Try to get your farm, but don't let yourself get poked out of lane. Once you get Wriggle's Lantern you don't just want to engage aimlessly though. Try to get close without using your Lunge. If you succeed he will probably Terrify you and begin to Bountiful Harvest you. As soon as Terrify wears off, Lunge on him and do your combo. Yes you will eat all five seconds of Bountiful Harvest, but you will life steal a lot of health back and dish out a ton to this squishy ********. Immediately run to your minions and start smacking them up. If he starts to Bountiful Harvest a minion, immediately jump on him. His choice is to either get pwned or cancel his Bountiful Harvest. After a single successful combo you can control the lane. Ganks will help you out a lot early since Fiddlesticks can only Terrify one person.

3 Fiora - In a Mirror Match, people always just say, "May the best _____ win." Well how the **** does that help anyone?? Anyway, obviously this is going to come down to skill and who can farm the best. PLAY DEFNSIVELY EARLY. What you want is for the enemy to get aggressive and waste mana. Parry AAs if she comes at your early. Wait until she tries her combo to do yours. As soon as she jumps on you, start running away and pop your Riposte. Most likely they will pop theirs as soon as they jump on you, thinking that you are going to fight back. Wait for them to turn away and then jump on them with your Lunge and Burst of Speed. You don't take parry damage, you were hurt with one less AA, and you got the last smack (which=dominance). Try to get to 1300g before her and ask for a gank or something to finish her off so that you can get your Wriggle's Lantern first.

3 Galio - This lane will either be excruciatingly easy or moderately medium. If it's a Galio that can't hit his shots, then you might as well be laning against a flag pole. If it's a Galio that can hit his some-what-easy-to-land skill shots, then it will be a bit more difficult, but still pretty easy. The nice thing about Galio is that Runic Skin scales with MR instead of Armor. If it were Armor this would be a ****ing hard lane. Don't be afraid to jump on him once you get your full combo. Wait until after he fires a Resolute Smite before engaging him. Try to use your second Lunge at max range since he will probably run away quickly with Righteous Gust. Do your best to avoid being poked out of lane and this won't be too difficult. Be wary of diving him if you are at low HP and Idol of Durand is up.

2 Gangplank - Get your farm early and don't engage. Parry his Parrrley early if he tries to poke with it. This can be done with reflexes rather than having to guess beforehand if you can be quick enough. Be careful in that once you've done it a couple of times he will try to bait the Riposte. Once you get to level three, jump on him, do your combo, and back up quickly. Don't stay for a long time once Burst of Speed wears off. Run away and let your CD's reset unless you are going to be able to kill him. Once you get Wriggle's Lantern you can lulz all over him. A little more troublesome if he builds tanky, but should be the same logic of how to fight him.

4 Garen - Who ever wants to lane against Garen? Seriously, though, who wants to lane against him? Anyway, he's a pain in the righteous ******** at early levels. His early game damage is roll good. Luckily, you can parry the bonus damage from Decisive Strike, but you still eat the silence. The bad part about this? He's going to be close if he is smacking you with it. You know what that means? Judgment. Spin. To. ****ing win. Now, if they are a bad Garen that sits on you until Judgment wears off, then you you pounce on that little ******** and tear him up. His CD's are pretty long (since they cost nothing -.-). Once you get Wriggle's Lantern this lane can actually get pretty easy. Wait for his **** to go on CD and then tear him up and life steal all that health back. Avoid the DEMACIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (aka: Demacian Justice) You can avoid this by not being close to Garen when you are low health. If you are both low, you know what's cool? He can't DEMACIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all over your face if you use Blade Waltz first. The bad thing? They are the same range so... you'll lose first. Be careful with that.

2 Gragas - Very early on, farming should be pretty easy for you. His Barrel Roll has a pretty long CD at low levels and since he is melee, he won't be able to last hit too well. If you eat a few Barrel Rolls just heal up with your Health Potions. If he comes in to try to last hit, smack him up. You do way more melee damage. At level three, go ahead and start jumping on him. Save your second Lunge for when he Body Slams away if he does so. Your main goal is to get Wriggle's Lantern before he get's too much damage (aka: too many Doran's Rings). At that point the lane is yours and it's not a hard goal to reach. Be wary of ganks since he can smack you in any direction he wants with Explosive Cask.

3 Graves - Can give you some trouble with your early farming. You want to do your best not to eat Buckshot too often because you don't want to burn through your Health Potions too quickly. Parry his AAs if he tries to shoot you with those and just do your best to get as much farm as you can. Once you get to level three you can start poking him down with your combo. Back out quickly after the AS from Burst of Speed wears off and save your second Lunge if he uses Quickdraw to try to get away. Don't get too low because he will pick you off with Collateral Damage; luckily it's a skill shot so you can dodge it if you can predict it or with a well times Blade Waltz.

2 Heimerdinger - It can be a bit difficult to get farm early on since he can poke you with Hextech Micro-Rockets, but it will only be difficult pre level three. Parry as many AAs as you can. Play safe till level three and try not to burn through all of your Health Potions. Once you are level three just start jumping on him and putting the smack on. He might stun you with ch-1 concussion grenade, but it is pretty short and he will take a ton of damage more than you will. If you get an early gank that will help immensely. Once you get Vampiric Scepter you will be able to dominate lane, not to mention Wriggle's Lantern. Don't be afraid to dive him. Try to bait the ch-1 concussion grenade first, but otherwise it should be pretty easy especially with blade watlz.

4 Irelia - A good Irelia is always a hard lane no matter who you are playing. No ****. What You want to do is bait her Equilibrium Strike. Jump on her with Lunge, if she Equilibrium Strikes, wait for it to wear off, then Burst of Speed and Lunge on her again. Make her pay for that mistimed Equilibrium Strike. Avoid getting Equilibrium Striked as soon as you use Burst of Speed.

2 Janna - Farm won't be too hard at all. Dodge her Howling Gale and your life is easy. 90% of the time she will be launching it at the farm so keep that in mind. At level three, go ahead and jump on her to rip her a new one. When she gets low try to get your Blade Waltz off before she can launch you away with Monsoon.

3 Jarvan IV - Because of Martial Cadence you don't really want to get into a singular poke fight early while going for the farm unless your Riposte is up. You'll want to avoid the knock-up from his Demacian Standard/ Dragon Strike combo. Once you get level three, you'll want to engage in small bursts so that you don't get torn up. Jump on him, but when the AS from Burst of Speed wears off, go ahead and run away. Rinse and repeat. Depending on how his build goes, you might need to back often to insure that your damage stays above how tanky he is.

3 Jax - His abilities can somewhat counter yours, but the lane can still be pretty easy. Go ahead and get the farm early on as your AAs are going to do more damage and he doesn't have the mana to keep poking you with Leap Strike. If he tries to AA you, go ahead and parry them when you can. The little devil can be difficult to kill since he can dodge almost the entirety of Burst of Speed with Counter Strike. Your best bet when you see Counter Strike is actually to back up so that you don't get stunned and then use your second Lunge to jump on him. You'll want to poke him down, post level three, in small bursts so that Relentless Assault doesn't stack to high. Keep an eye on his stacks; you can see them as buffs.

1 Karthus - If the enemy team is foolish enough to send a Karthus against you, then you are about to enjoy one of the easiest lanes of your life. Early on you want to get your farm and make sure you dodge his Lay Wastes. Remember that you take less damage if the Lay Waste hits more than one target. Once you are level three you can start tearing him to pieces. Run away as soon as the AS from Burst of Speed wears off and rinse and repeat. As soon as you get Wriggle's Lantern there is nothing he can do to you. You should be so far ahead of him at that point. He might still be able to get the farm, but not easily. Be wary of diving since even if he dies he can pop his Wall of Pain to slow you and then spam all kinds of Lay Wastes on you. Definitely remember about his Requiem. If you see it coming and you are low, please don't be stupid and just keep running away. If there are minions turn around and get some lifesteal going!

2 Kassadin - Go ahead and get your farm early. As a melee caster, there isn't much Kassadin can do to you and his very early game is terrible. If he tries to melee you just smack him harder and parry his AAs. He might poke you with Null Sphere, but just lulz at him when he goes oom and you still have Health Potions left. Try get get your Wriggle's Lantern as soon as possible because once he is level six, he will have some mad burst with his Riftwalk >> Null Sphere >> Force Pulse combo. You will want to have life steal at this point so that you can return the favor by pouncing on him, doing a ton of damage, and healing back up. He can be hard to burst down since Riftwalk has such a low CD, but it won't be too bad in lane. If you Blade Waltz him before he Riftwalks, you'll be taken for the ride, so keep that in mind. It could be a good thing, but it could also be a bad thing.

3 Katarina - Her pokes are pretty mean and if she is a good Kat it might be hard to get dominance of the farm early on; however, you will tear her up at level three. Kat doesn't become very deadly until level six, so go ahead and take control of the lane. The best thing about laning a Kat? If she uses Death Lotus, just use Blade Waltz and lulz all over her. It's very amusing when you are both low and she'll be all like, "I got dis, bros. TWIRLY TIME!" Then you'll be all like "lolololololololol." It's highly amusing. Her ultimate does have a shorter CD than yours does though so be aware of that.

4 Kayle - Can be a very difficult lane to get your farm in early. Between Reckoning and Righteous Fury he will poke the hell out of you. Most likely he will have some form of mana restoration and since his spells don't cost too much mana anyway, he'll be spamming at you for days. This makes it very hard to get farm and very hard simply to last in the lane if you have to burn through your Health Potions quickly. Try to ask for a gank early. If you can get ahead in terms of farm and possibly kills then you can win the lane. If you get Wriggle's Lantern before he gets too much damage, then you can probably turn your lane into a winner. Just start doing your normal combo and trying to back away as soon as the AS wears off from Burst of Speed. This can be difficult because of the obnoxious slow from Reckoning and his extended ranged from Righteous Fury as well as his speed boost from his heal, Divine Blessing. Yay... Be wary of using your Blade Waltz if Intervention is off of CD. Don't be surprised if you face a lot of bad Kayles though. He doesn't seem to be too popular among good players.

4 Kennen - Farm won't be so hard to get very early on before level three. Just stay close to minions so he can't smack you with Thundering Shuriken and parry his AA stars if he tries to throw them. The lane becomes very difficult at level three onward because he has so many ways to damage you and inevitably stun you. A good Kennen will do his best to make sure that every time the passive on electrical storm is at five stacks, he hits you with the next AA and then uses the active ability. You can parry that AA so as to not take the damage, but you will still get a Mark of the Storm. If you want to try to engage him, try to wait until after he uses his Thundering Shuriken. The bad part is that you will most likely be stunned anyway. He can AA a stack on you, use Lightning Rush for the second, and then shock you with electrical storm to finish off the combo. At this point you are stunned and have lost a significant amount of health. The only time you really want to start engaging him is after you get Wriggle's Lantern and you only want to do so if he won't do too much damage with his combo. Early ganks are always nice, but because of his Lightning Rush he isn't a very easy champion to gank. If you can get ahead and have time to farm because he died or had to back though, that will be extremely useful to you.

3 Lee Sin - Early farm shouldn't be too difficult. Use your minions to protect you so that he can't poke you with Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike. Parry as many AAs as you can if he tries to smack you with them. Don't jump on him as soon as you are level three. Wait to figure out how aggressive he is. If he does you the favor of trying to come at you, that will be best. At that point you can pop Riposte and tear him up with Lunge and Burst of Speed. The reason this is advantageous is because he will most likely end up taking more damage than you and skills are now on CD as well as yours. If you jump on him first, he might just Safeguard / Iron Will away and/or slow you with Tempest / Cripple. At that point, his Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike would still be off CD. Once you get some dominance you will need to start jumping on him though because he is going to be afraid :D

3 Leona - The early farm won't be hard to get and the only way you will lose this lane is if she gets tankier faster than you get damagier. The nice thing about this is that a lot of her early gold is probably going to go towards a Heart of Gold, a philosopher's stone, and boots. The only real item you are going to need is your Wriggle's Lantern early on and you should be able to get that long before Leona is able to get enough gold for some serious armor. Once you are level three, you'll be fine to start jumping on her, but try to wait to use your Burst of Speed until she stuns you with her Shield of Daybreak. If you stay mobile, it should be pretty easy to avoid her Solar Flare. If you are able to react fast enough you can dodge it with your Blade Waltz if you are close enough.

3 Lux - Go ahead and get your farm early on. If she tries to AA you, parry as many as possible with Riposte. The annoying thing is that if she lands her Light Binding, you are going to take a lot of damage after she spams the rest of her skills. Once you are level three, try to bait her to cast her snare and dodge it. Once it's on CD, pounce on her and tear her up. Save your second Lunge until the last possible second or until she casts her lucent signularity, so that you can dodge it and get our of the slow. Try not to get too low on HP, especially in her vision because she will finish you off with finales funkeln if you aren't able to dodge it.

4 Malzahar - It's going to be hard to get farm early on because of his pokes. Either he is going to put Malefic Visions on the minions or he is going to put it on you. It's either way. If he puts it on you, you take a lot of damage. If he puts in on minions, then you have to avoid getting close so that it doesn't jump onto you. Not to mention the damage he can do to you with Call of the Void. More than likely he will be saving Null Zone for use with Nether Grasp. Once he gets level six you are going to have to be pretty scared. If you get low, he will show no remorse in destroying you with Nether Grasp. Do your best to get a Wriggle's Lantern as soon as possible. At that point you can go ahead and jump on him. If he hits you with his skills just heal up on minions. If he uses Nether Grasp, just start healing up on minions when it wears off. DO NOT engage him if you are low or he will use all his skills at once to destroy. Ask for ganks early on. Malzahar can be easy to gank since he doesn't really have an escape and he is only a single target caster mostly. If you get ganks often his difficulty drops significantly.

2 Maokai - Go ahead and get your farm early as it should be easy to make it yours. Parry as many AAs as you can if he tries to throw them at you . Dodge his saplings if you can, but don't bother running if it's going to hit you anyway. Don't forgot about his Twisted Advance if you get low as it has pretty significant range. Once you are level three, go ahead and start jumping on him. He can't do much about it. Try to save your second Lunge and Burst of Speed until after he uses arcane smash so that you can get onto him even after the knock-up/slow. Remember that he takes 20% less damage when he pops Vengeful Maelstrom and then can return a whole lot back when he reactivates it. Be wary when diving and such.

2 Master Yi - AD: It should be pretty easy for you to get the early farm. Parry his AAs if he comes at you, but don't engage him until level three. You can still smack him when he gets close once or twice. When you get to level three, go ahead and jump on him with your combo. When the AS wears off from Burst of Speed, back out, especially if he pops Wuju Style and comes at you. Most likely you will be dominating the lane so hard that Highlander will simply be used as an escape. You don't want to engage for too long and let yourself get low on HP though or he will chase you down with Highlander. You want to be wary of diving if Meditate is off CD unless he is very low. He might gain enough armor that you won't finish him off and you'll take damage for nothing.

AP: A bit more annoying. AP Master Yi plays just like a caster so he will chill back and poke you with Alpha Strike. The good news is that he won't be getting any farm except what he can get with Alpha Strike. If he tries to run up and smack something, you can tear him apart. Definitely start tearing into as soon as you get level three. You'll have very little to fear. Most annoyingly, he is going to be able to regen a ton of health Meditate so if you are under his turret or something, you might as well not even bother trying to attack him anymore. He'll regen much more than you can damage. Luckily if he gets low enough and tries this, you can use your Ignite to finish him off with your attacks. An easier lane overall, but just a bit more annoying.

3 Mordekaiser - Go ahead and get your farm early on, but try to predict when he is going to use Mace of Spades and Siphon of Destruction. When you think it's coming, try to back away so that you don't take damage. Try to avoid having to use all of your Health Potions too early. When you are level three, wait until he uses Mace of Spades/ siphon of dstruction before you engage him. You might be pushed to your turret early on in during the laning phase. Once he has used his abilities, go ahead and jump on him and tear him up with your combo. Because of Iron Man, he probably won't take too much damage when you are engaging him, but hopefully you can whither him down. Don't engage Mordekaiser if his Creeping Death is active. If he activates it mid fight, go ahead and back off of him. Once you get Wriggle's Lantern the game changes. You will be able to engage him more easily (still not when Creeping Death is on him). The bad news is that he will be doing a ton of damage to you as well so try to get lifesteal off of minions in between skirmishes. When you get the chance to finish him off with your Blade Waltz + Ignite, definitely take it. Early ganks will help you out a lot.

3 Morgana - Very early on it should be easy for you to get your farm. Stay behind minions if possible so that she can't hit her Dark Binding. When you are level three try your best to jump on her without being snared. If she does snare you successfully, she will most likely also drop a Tormented Shadow under you and you will take pretty significant damage. Try to wait until after she has either cast her Dark Binding or Tormented Shadow before engaging. At level five, she can kill caster minions with one Tormented Shadow (it will be level three). She can place this so that it also hits some of the melee minions. This means that it is extremely easy for her to push the lane which will leave you farming off of your turret. Try to get as much farm as you can in this situation. Most likely she will be so scared that she will be doing this at maximum range. When you have your Wriggle's Lantern, you can go ahead and just tank the minions while you kill them so that your tower doesn't take any farm. If she tries to use Soul Shackles on you, use your Blade Waltz so that you can get out of it and kill her before you take too much damage.

3 Nasus - Go ahead and get your farm early. Smack him if he comes close. Try to save your Riposte for his Siphoning Strike, but don't be afraid to use it on AAs. You main goal against a Nasus is to keep him from farming up his Siphoning Strike so that he is less useful during end game. Once you are level three, don't be afraid to jump on him. Back off once the AS from Burst of Speed wears off though. You don't want to engage him too long without Burst of Speed because he will ruin you because of Soul Eater. When you jump on him he is either going to take a lot of damage or waste a lot of mana stopping you with Wither. When it gets to a point where you are ready to kill him, don't forget about the bonus health from Fury of the Sands especially if you are going to dive him. You don't want to use your Blade Waltz for no purpose.

3 Nautilus - Tank: Go ahead and get your farm early. Parry the bonus damage from his first attack on you. You will still get snared for a moment because of Staggering Blow, but you won't take the additional damage. Once you are level three, go ahead and engage. Back out once the bonus AS wears off from Burst of Speed. You should be dealing much more damage than he is. The unfortunate thing about Nautilus is that he can get tanky very quickly so make sure you shut him down before he gets too tanky. Be very wary of ganks. Nautilus is a CC monster and if a high damage jungler comes in, you could easily get destroyed. If you use your Blade Waltz after being targeted with Depth Charge you won't take any damage or any CC from it.

AP: Basically the same setup. The only difference is that he does more damage and takes less. Still watch for ganks and engage in short skirmishes.

Use your first Lunge to get on her, but save your second until she Bushwhack / Pounces away in her Aspect Of The Cougar form. I haven't played against a Nocturne in a solo lane. Every time I see one, he is in the jungle.

3 Nunu - Get your farm early on, but you might have to sit back a little bit until level three. He can poke you some/what consistently with Ice Blast and he won't be afraid to do it. With Visionary that becomes pretty easy. You don't want to use all of your Health Potions before you can even engage. Once you are level three, go ahead and jump on him. Definitely get back once the AS from Burst of Speed wears off. It can be hard to poke him down if you can't get him away from the farm because his Consume doesn't have too long of a CD. When you get to six and are ready to kill him, try to bait him to use Absolute Zero before using Blade Waltz. You'll dodge all of the damage and then when he comes back to lane, it will be on CD. One thing to keep in mind is that he can use Absolute Zero in a bush and you won't be able to see it at all. You will just be slowed and take a ton of damage.

3 Olaf - Try not to get into a small poke fight early on; play safe until level three, getting as much farm as possible. You cannot parry his Reckless Swing and it will do much more damage than one of your AAs. Once you are level three you are able to take him pretty easily in a short fight. Jump on him to do your combo. Your Burst of Speed should result in more damage than eating one Reckless Swing. Make sure you back out when the AS from Burst of Speed wears off. Try to avoid being hit with his Undertow. If you get to a point that you are ready to kill him, be sure not to forget about Ragnarok. It might give him just enough armor to stop your Blade Waltz from finishing him off and that can be deadly if you are diving him. Try to save your Blade Waltz until a time when you know he will die for sure. With a combination of Berserker Rage, Tough It Out, and Ragnarok, this little bruiser can become quite intimidating.

3 Pantheon - Do your best to get your farm early. He'll poke you pretty hard with Spear Shot and unfortunately you cannot parry it. Parry his AAs if he throws them at you. Don't try to engage until level three and try not to burn through all of your Health Potions before then. If he jumps on you with Aegis of Zeonia pop Riposte so that you can parry an AA while you are stunned. When you are level three, try to get him to jump on you. Once the stun wears off, pay him back in full with a quick combo to his face. Most likely he will take more damage and you can return to farming. An early gank will definitely help you out a lot in this lane. If you get a kill go ahead and back out. Getting that early Vampiric Scepter will help you out more rather than just getting ahead while you wait for him. You'll need the edge when he comes back.

2 Poppy - Unfortunately you can't parry her Devastating Blow which would make this beyond easy. Try to avoid being between Poppy and a wall so she can't land the stun from Heroic Charge. Her damage isn't very consistent and she is pretty easy once you get level 3-4. Start my dominating the farm. AA smack her if she comes close and pot if you lose too much health. When you get your combo, smack her up and the lane is yours. Also with that Heroic Charge, you have to make sure you watch for ganks. 1v1 though, this lane is pretty straightforward.

3 Rammus - You need to take advantage of this lane early. Rammus is basically the epitome of a counter for you. He gets more damage as he build armor with Spiked Shell. LOLWUT?! Luckily, it can be very do able to get ahead of him. Do your best to get to level three without taking too much damage. He won't be able to poke you much with Powerball because it's too expensive, but he will most likely use puncturing taunt and then pop Defensive Ball Curl so that you are actually hurting yourself. Once you are level three, you can go ahead and start jumping on him. Your goal is to get him to use Defensive Ball Curl before you use your combo. You lose a lot of damage and take damage if you smack him while it is up. As soon as it's down, jump on him and tear him up. If you force him to Powerball away, then that is a lot of mana wasted. Be wary of ganks because this guy is a CC monster. Be careful of diving him/getting close to his turret if you are low. He'll puncturing taunt you and pull you back onto the turret so that it tears you up. His Soaring Slam do more damage than you might think so if you aren't positive you are going to win a fight, try to get out and then come back when Soaring Slam wears off. You can obviously dodge a part of Soaring Slam' damage if you use your Blade Waltz.

3 Renekton - A good Renekton is going to be a hard lane, especially if they build armor. Try to bait his Ruthless Predator. Remember that it's a "next attack" skill so when he goes to stun you, you can parry the attack, but still get stunned. Don't pop Burst of Speed until after he has used Ruthless Predator. Lunge on him, get stunned, parry it, pop your Burst of Speed and Lunge on him again. If he isn't stunning your right away, then just go ahead and pop Burst of Speed before you Lunge: whatever gets you the most time hurting him with Burst of Speed. Get dominance and own the farm. Watch for ganks if he comes at your with Ruthless Predator.

3 Riven - Go ahead and get your farm early on, but watch out for her Broken Wings. Because she can cast her skills at no cost, they have relatively long CDs so that will make the lane somewhat easy. If you can dodge the knock-up from Broken Wings that will be great for you. Parry her if she tries to AA you. Watch her stacks of Runic Blade as they will be her main source of early game damage. Once you are level three you can start jumping onto her. Wait for her to use Ki Burst before using Burst of Speed so that you aren't stunned for the duration. Use your second Lunge if she uses Valor to get away since you have much greater range. Be wary of engaging her while Blade of the Exile is active unless you are going to finish her off with Blade Waltz. Watch her stacks of Runic Blade as they will be her main source of early game damage.

3 Rumble - A character that doesn't rely on mana and has short CDs, lolwut?! Rumble is a melee caster meaning that you won't have to deal with his AAs, so go ahead and get your farm early on. Try to stay behind your minions, or in motion so that he can't poke you with Electro-Harpoon easily. If he starts to spray Flamespitter all over the minions you are hiding behind, then go ahead and back away until it wears off. This will push the lane very quickly towards your turret and you will have the advantage of easy ganks from your jungler. Make sure you get some ganks if you are on your turret. Pay attention to his overheat bar. While he is in the "Danger Zone" (between 50-100 heat) his abilities all deal more damage and both Electro-Harpoon and Scrap Shield get additional bonuses. When you are level three, you will be able to start jumping on him. At lower levels he is squishy so it should be pretty easy. Try to get him to use his Flamespitter and Electro-Harpoon before jumping on him so that you will take little to no damage and can't be slowed. Save your second Lunge until he gets to max range with his Scrap Shield. Be wary of getting low on health, even if you are on your turret. He will rain The Equalizer down on you so hard.

5 Ryze - This **********er will tear you up if you aren't very careful, and very smart. He is one of the strongest counters to Fiora. His pokes are very strong and he will poke the hell out of you with them. Expect to be smacked a lot with Overload which is on a ridiculously low CD. Do your best to get level three without getting poked too low so that you don't lose all of your Health Potions. When you are level three, you still have to be wary. If you jump on him he will just snare you with Rune Prison and then smack you up with Overload and Spell Flux. Luckily, Ryze is mostly a single target champion so if you can get early ganks, hopefully you can get ahead. If you don't get ahead, you lose. You know two ways that Ryze gets more damage? Lower CDs and more mana. You know what item gives lower CDs and more mana? Frozen Heart. You know what else Frozen Heart does? IT GIVES 99 ARMOR AND LOWERS ATTACK SPEEDS OF ENEMIES BY 20%. You know what item a good Ryze builds every game? Frozen Heart. Yep. So if you fall behind, he will be doing a lot more damage and be taking a ton less. GET EARLY GANKS. Explain the situation to your jungler, or better yet, just do pre-mades. During lane phase, you will most likely be pushed to your turret. Do your best to get as much farm as possible and hope that he will dive you. If he dives you, don't be afraid to jump on him with your combo and if he gets low enough use Blade Waltz on him.

4 Shen - The new Shen can be a big pain in your ***. He has a much stronger early game (1-6 or so) than you do. If he taunts you with Shadow Dash, you are going to take a lot of damage. Period. Basically, save your combo until after you take all of that damage. Until you get Wriggle's Lantern and have some life steal, you're going to be getting ****ed up though because he will hurt you more than you will hurt him. If he misses a Shadow Dash though (lunges forward, but doesn't hit you), you jump on him. You pounce like a wild cougar and you make him regret ever entering your lane.

3 Shyvana - Go ahead and get your farm early. Parry her Twin Bite if she tries to hit you with it. Try to use minions to protect yourself from Flame Breath. When you are level three you can go ahead and engage her. Save your second Lunge so you can stay on her if she uses Burnout to run, but back out once the AS from Burst of Speed wears off so that you don't continue to remain in the AoE. Once you are six, you should be decently ahead if you've played correctly. Don't be afraid to dive her since she has no real form of CC, but don't forget about her speed boost from Burnout and the defenses/jump from dragon's decent. If she pushed your lane hard with Burnout just ask for a gank to make a some what easy lane into a free win.

3 Singed - Annoying but you can deal with him. NOT a threat really until he is level three when he has all of his abilities so go ahead and get your farm and smack him if he gets close. Parry his attacks if he tries to AA. Basically, you want to NOT engage him until you get your Wriggle's Lantern, get 1300g or 1650g as quickly as possible, back, and then rock his world. Try to pick up your Null-Magic Mantle if you can on your first back also, but Wriggle's Lantern is most important. You can jump on him and just life steal back what you lose. Easy lane if you can out farm until Wriggle's Lantern at which point the farm is free.

3 Sion - AD: Go ahead and get your farm early. He will probably stun you with Cryptic Gaze and AA you, but just pop Riposte if he keeps attacking when the stun wears off and attack him back. Most likely he will end up taking more damage then you did at that level. Go ahead and keep getting your farm. Once you get to level three you can start ****ing him up in small bursts, but don't use Burst of Speed until after he stuns you. Once the stun wears off Lunge again if it's up and Burst of Speed all over this kid. Once you guys are fighting when you both have your ultimates, your goal should be to get him to pop his Cannibalism, and then you should back away until it wears off. The only way you should continue fighting him is if you are going to be able to kill him very quickly. Ignite helps a ton with that goal.

AP: Easier at early levels than AD Sion since his AAs are going to be pretty bad. Go ahead and poke the hell out of him once you are level three. Again wait until after he uses Cryptic Gaze before using Burst of Speed. If his Death's Caress is up you might want to be wary of engaging if you are low on health and don't have your Wriggle's Lantern yet. Once you get that Wriggle's Lantern you are going to have way more sustain and this should become a pretty easy lane.

3 Swain - It can be difficult to get farm early if you aren't careful. Do your best to take as little damage as possible. If he throws Decrepify do your best to get out of range, but if you are too close, don't even bother. It's only three seconds and you might as well get your farm and keep Duelist up. If he tries to AA you, parry as many as possible. There isn't much you can do about Torment, but you want to try extra hard to avoid the rest of his attacks if it is on you. nevermore is pretty easy to avoid and it's usually easy to predict when he will use it. Play carefully until level three so that you still have some potions for after you jump on him. Jump on him. Do your combo and smack him up. Avoid his nevermore and Decrepify which will be easy with the speed boost from Burst of Speed. When you are level six and ready to leap on him for the kill, don't forget about Ravenous Flock and the amount of health it will give him. Your goal should be to get him low enough so that a Blade Waltz and Ignite (which will stop his healing) will kill him. A long sustained fight while he has Ravenous Flock up can easily lead to your death. With Swain, it's more about bursting him down and trying to deny him from healing on the creeps.

3 Talon - Go ahead and get your farm early. It shouldn't be too hard. If he starts to run towards your farm, he is likely to try to hit you with Rake. Back up and run back to the farm after he uses it. If he comes to you to try to AA, parry and smack him back. Try to parry his Noxian Diplomacy if possible; you'll avoid the extra damage, but still take the bleed effect. He will quickly understand that the only way for him to damage you is with Rake and you should be able to dodge that pretty easily. If he dares to use cuttthroat, just turn around and smack the hell out of him. Once the silence wears off, shred him with your combo. He won't try that again. At level six it can be both easy and hard for you to finish him off. The invisibility and speed boost from Shadow Assault can make it hard to get that last hit in. Try to bait him to use this before you use your Blade Waltz. When it's on CD, don't at all be afraid to dive him with your Blade Waltz and Ignite.

3 Twisted Fate - Makes for a very hard early game. Try not to engage and just get your farm until you can get your 1600g for Wriggle's Lantern. Once you get Wriggle's Lantern, the lane should be pretty easy. Try to make sure you parry an AA. Don't pop your Riposte to try to block a card (including his Wild Cards and Pick A Card). 4 Vayne - It can be very difficult to get your farm early on. She will poke the hell out of you and since you can only parry once attack every ten seconds or so, she will just continue to poke you. Most likely she will start with Boots and in combination with her Night Hunter, she'll be able to poke you pretty hard while you try to back away. Try to get as much farm as you can without taking too much damage. The reason this lane is so difficult is that Vayne can kite you so effectively, even with your double Lunge. If you jump on her, she can Tumble away, and if you Lunge again, she can just Condemn you away. You are able to parry the bonus damage from Condemn but you will still get knocked back (and stunned if you are knocked into a wall). Most likely you will end up pushed to your turret. This is when you want to ask for a gank and hope that your jungler brings some kind of CC with him. Do your best to get last hits. If she tries to shoot your turret, go ahead and smack her up before backing up. Keep in mind that she can Condemn you into your turret for the stun. Don't let that happen. When you are level six, you stand a much better chance of getting a kill. Luckily Vayne is pretty squishy so if you can get her to misstep, ie: when she uses a tumble for no reason, jump on her quickly. She might Condemn you away, but you can use your second Lunge to hop back on her and keep shredding her with your Burst of Speed. Once she is low, Blade Waltz and pop your Ignite. Basically you will have to remain pretty passive until you get a gank or she messes up. Luckily she won't be able to outright dive you or get your turret without you tearing her up.

3 Veigar - Because of Equilibrium this little guy will be able to last in lane for a long time if he isn't poked down. Luckily, in the early game, he most likely won't be trying to poke you. If he is smart, that precious mana will be going to stacking AP with Baleful Strike. Once you are level three, you will want to start widdling him down, but you need to be smart about it. If you Lunge on him, pop Burst of Speed, and then are immediately stunned with Event Horizon, you will end up taking far more damage from his combo than he did. If he EVER uses Event Horizon and you aren't stunned, then you make him pay for it. The CD is pretty significant so don't be afraid to tear into him if it's on CD. You won't be able to deny him farm entirely since after a few levels his Dark Matter will just kill an entire pack of minions, but you can do your best to keep him from farming up his AP with Baleful Strike. A fed Veigar can semi-easily destory your team, so don't let that happen! The challenge is yours!

? Viktor - TBA
Do people even play Viktor? I'll update if I get the chance to face him in a solo lane.

2 Vladimir - He is just too squishy to be a problem for you. Until level three, you might have to play a little passively. You don't want to lose all of your Health Potions to Transfusion before you are ready to fight back. Once you are level three though, you can go ahead and start smacking him up. More than likely he will use Sanguine Pool, costing himself 20% of his current hp, and will have already taken pretty significant damage. When you are ready to finish him off, force him to use Sanguine Pool, then Blade Waltz and Ignite for the kill. Once you get life steal, there is nothing he can really do to you. You will be in control of the farm easily, and if he comes near it, you can just tear him up again.

? Volibear - TBA
Volibear seems to only want to jungle when I've been against him. He can make for a pretty strong solo top, though, so hopefully I'll be able to update this pretty soon.

3 Warwick - Try to get the farm early on. He can make it difficult with his mid-ranged life steal, Hungering Strike. The CD is not terribly short, but it's short enough to matter. If he tries to AA you, go ahead and parry them. Once you are level three, you can go ahead and jump on him. Try to wait until he uses Hungering Strike. Once he does, jump on him and tear him up. Back out when the AS from Burst of Speed wears off. Rinse and repeat. Even with his stupid life steal, you should be able to keep him away and take control of the farm. Be wary of diving him if you are low because he will suppress you on his turret and gain a ton of life with Infinite Duress. The range is significantly longer than your Blade Waltz so keep that in mind (700vs450). Try to make sure that your Blade Waltz and Ignite will finish him off before doing it because you don't want to get out of Blade Waltz to have him immediately Hungering Strike and get away with a hundred health. Be extra wary of ganks since Infinite Duress is basically a 1.8 second stun during which you will take a ton of damage and immobile for the enemy jungler to come and smack you up.

3 Wukong - Go ahead and go after your farm early. A lot of Wukongs grab Crushing Blow first so do your best to parry that. He'll start to catch on and try to just bait you to use your Riposte. If worse comes to worst, try to make sure you at least parry an AA. The most annoying part about Wukong at early levels is his Warrior Trickster. When you are level three and ready to pounce on him, try to get him to use Warrior Trickster somehow before you pop Lunge and Burst of Speed or they will end up going largely wasted. Be wary of the knock-up and insane damage from Cyclone when he gets to level six. If you can bait him to use it, a great way to finish him off is to use Blade Waltz either before you get knocked up or after the knock-up wears off. If he is diving you on your turret, make sure you use Blade Waltz before he can pop Cyclone or you are screwed, my friend.

1 Xerath - Avoid getting stunned by his mage chains after you pop your Burst of Speed, but otherwise pretty easy. As soon as you have Lunge and Burst of Speed, just go ahead and jump on him and ramp up the damage. Be aware to dodge his skill shots and try to get away if he puts his mage chains on you. Very easy lane if you play around what he can do.

4 Xin Zhao - Obviously a pain in the ***. You can parry that third hit from his Three Talon Strike, but you still get knocked up and he'll **** you up in the mean time; however, your lane is going to come down to who gets ahead first. Ask for an early gank and make sure you aren't ganked early. Be aggressive and get your farm. If he comes at you, don't be afraid to pop your combo and then run away with your speed boost. You get your maximum damage and avoid his.

5 Yorick - Three options: 1. You jungler camps your lane. If your jungler doesn't/can't camp your lane early, you lose. Pretty straightforward unfortunately. He'll take damage for days and dish out tons more. He'll out farm you, out poke you, and out LULZ you. 2. If your jungler doesn't agree to gank constantly for you or if the Yorick buys a ward at level one, ask your Ranged AD carry to switch lanes with you. Or even your AP mid. You'll probably be better off in mid then against Yorick. Really there is nothing you can do with your combo because jumping on him results in you just taking more damage. 3. Just survive him. Try to stay in range of the exp, but don’t even worry about farm. Only worry about protecting your turret and staying alive. This only works if your jungler camps bottom lane and dominates the enemy AD carry so that Yorick has no one to clone with Omen of Death end game. If your jungler sucks and both you get ****ed AND their AD carry gets fed, well that's gg.

3 Ziggs - It can be pretty difficult to get your farm early on. A good Ziggs will have mana regen and spam his abilities on you as well as try to hit you with Short Fuse (which you can parry of course). Try to get some farm, but avoid as much damage as possible which is actually pretty easy if you play somewhat passively. Once you are level three, you can put the hurt on. Try to wait until he uses his Hexplosive Minefield/ Bouncing Bomb before you Lunge on him and start shredding him with Burst of Speed. This will insure that you don't take too much damage while you are engaging. Be careful once he reaches six. Mega Inferno Bomb has damn good range and does a ton of damage. When you are ready to kill him and you jump on him, use your Blade Waltz in order to avoid the damage if possible. It's pretty easy to Flash out of the circle to avoid the damage as well.

? Zielan - TBA
Haven't been able to take him in a solo lane yet. Usually Zilean will be a support rather than take the solo lane.
