Xaioli and I have both done some jungle testing and we've come to the conclusion that 
Hunter's Machete, while great on a lot of champions, isn't really needed on anyone that isn't planning to go Wriggle's Lantern after. On champs like Nocturne, feel free to start Machete to speed up your first clear, but he's tested Dr. Mundo and I've tried Amumu and both clear fast enough and safely enough to not need Spirit Stone or any of its upgrades.
Spirit Stone is great for weaker junglers that really need the faster clear time, like Sejuani, but on champs like the above, and probably Nautilus, Maokai, Olaf, and Cho'Gath, Spirit Stone's upgrades are actually kinda weak compared to what you could be building. Cloth+5 gives you a fast Ninja Tabi, or an early component to your Aegis of the Legion which eventually will turn into a Runic Bulwark.

Spirit of the Ancient Golem + Mobility Boots on utility junglers. Spirit of the Spectral Wraith on Diana, Fiddlesticks, any other AP-based jungler.

The only upgrade I think is really sub-par is the damaging one (redbuff/ignite kind of thing) - I can see only one jungler using it and that being riven. But to be honest, I actually think that SAG>Wriggle on many characters that built Wriggle till now. I really enjoy nocturne with Berzerkers and SAG as its infinitely better than Treads+Wriggles (+500 health +20% attackspeed in exhange for 400 gold, 10% LF and 15 AD). The thing you need to look at is that you need to upgrade into wriggles ASAP - spirit stone can be left on its own for a while and you can build other items, f.e. Avarice into Atma's which has huge synergy with SAG. I think Spirit Stone and its upgrades were great move towards making jungle available to other than HoG+Philo tanky junglers and made gear dependant champions (such as Sejuani) little bit better.

I'm really loving the Ruby Sightstone , Runic Bulwark , and Iceborn Gauntlet on Leona. That Gauntlet really takes Leona's supporting capabilities to the next level! And of course, I cannot speak highly enough of the sightstone. The price is nothing to what you would spend in wards throughout a game, and it gives you some decent HP to work with as well. With the global gold buff, there's no need to invest in GP5 items, although if things are going slowly I'll still slip in a Philosopher's Stone early.
If things are going super, super well; why not throw in a Rylai's Crystal Scepter before a Sunfire Aegis? You'll be tanking like a boss, with about a thousand slows to work with as well. Sunfire will definitely be laying down some promising damage.

Why won't Amumu get Philo Stone anymore?
Shurelya's Battlesong nerfed hardcore, hp and mana regeneration nerfed hardcore. As said, only avaiable item will be Eleisa's Miracle for philosopher's stone upgrade.And hey, get 20 second of clear speed slower while not even having more HP after clear with
Cloth Armor + 5 Health Potion's is definitly not good. Because you take longer to take down the creeps, you also take way more damage from them.
