i have found that i really enjoy AP heroes therefore i want to build my main LoL around AP champs therefore i have decided to see the best Ap masteries which can allow my character to sustain itself and deal damage with high AP. thanks!!

Notes:
Havoc vs Butcher
There are a lot of people that either really prefer Butcher , and others really prefer Havoc . Both has its strength as weakness. If you have problems lasthitting, take Butcher , if you don't, take Havoc :D
In comparison with other masteries, Havoc is very strong late game.

Defense vs Utility
Basically ask yourself this:
Do I need survival? Or do I more utility?
Do I need more health? Or do I need more mana.
Since, as a mana champ, you still can take defense if you do not have any mana problems.

Spellsword
It is not a real necessary for most AP mids. There are some that really can use it, like Kayle or something, but there are also a lot of AP mids that do not really benefit from this, you would think :O
Just like Butcher , this might help you farming, also, when your spells are on CD, you still can poke with your AA, doing a small amount of extra damage :D
If you do not wish to put a point in this, put it in Havoc instead.

I'd say take butcher. It's not always about having problems farming or not.

I would say that i'm going to have to take havoc as Karma has a very high damage late game which her first skill + mantra. Therefore with high ap and high damage she can deal A LOT MORE with havoc! also for farming her first skill at level 1 is actually quite spammable and it has a low cooldown too. Also it has a slight aoe thus allowing to kill more than 1 creep at a time!

You're adorable, but 2% of 2000 damage is 20, so Havoc 's damage increase is a joke.

I'd still take Brute Force over Mental Force any day of the week, even though they're deeper in the Offense tree than before.

Can't say I agree with this one. With 500 AP (reasonably built AP), Spellsword deals an extra 25 damage on your autoattacks. That's like a free Pickaxe. Most AP mids will throw in some autoattacks while their spells are on cooldown in team fights. It also allows you to proc Morellonomicon on autoattacks instead of being reliant on spell cooldowns.

It's a very strong mastery for only one point, I suggest you pick it up on your mids.

For a better perspective, you could compare it to Brute Force . At 30 AP, 1 point in Spellsword is equal to one point in Brute Force . At 60 AP, 1 point in Spellsword is equal to both points in Brute Force . After that it just gets better and better. It's a very efficient mastery.

IMO Havoc simply doesn't make the cut either.

Depending on what you need 1-2 AD or 2-3 AP would be better early, similar mid and a little bit worse late.
But since masteries/runes are all about the early in most cases, I can't see what Havoc's for except for point dumping to get to the next tier.
