AD Bruiser Mundo. Would it work?

With the buff to Maw of Malmortius, I'm thinking of trying out AD bruiser Mundo. Blunt Force Trauma is a really stupid AD steroid, and even if you aren't building full tank, Maximum Dosage would make you really hard to kill.

Runes would probably be:

-hybrid pen marks, since Mundo does a lot of physical damage and good magic damage
-flat armor seals because top-lane
-scaling magic resist glyphs because mages
-movespeed quints to go where you please

Masteries would be the usual 9 / 21 / 0 bruiser masteries.

Core items would probably be Warmog's Armor, Atma's Impaler, and a Zephyr. Warmog's is obvious on Mundo, and while Atma's Impaler isn't very good, it goes alone really well with Masochism, and Mundo in general. AD bruiser Mundo likes everything Zephyr gives him; a bit of attack damage, a nice amount of attack speed, some CDR, and Tenacity.

For boots, I'm thinking either Boots of Swiftness, Ninja Tabi, or Berserker's Greaves with Furor, depending on which you need more.

AD options would be Bloodthirster, Maw of Malmortius, Last Whisper, and Infinity Edge. I only include Infinity Edge because it goes really well with Atma's.

If you needed more attack speed, which you probably shouldn't, you could take Blade of the Ruined King, Youmuu's Ghostblade, or Wit's End. BotRK is an obvious option, bruiser Mundo likes everything Youmuu's gives him, and Wit's End is nice for the magic resist, and the passive synergizes well with Heart Zapper.

Some armor options would be Randuin's Omen, Sunfire Aegis, and Thornmail. Randuin's is the standard armor item, Sunfire Cape goes really well with Burning Agony, and Thornmail is nice if the enemy ADC is stupid fed.

Magic resist options would be Spirit Visage, Runic Bulwark, and Mercurial Scimitar. Spirit Visage is the best magic resist item on Mundo in general, Bulwark is really powerful and can be picked up if nobody else gets it, and Mercurial Scimitar is handy against heavy-CC teams if Zephyr isn't enough.

A nice balanced build would be Warmog's Armor, Atma's Impaler, Spirit Visage, Randuin's Omen, Zephyr, Boots of Swiftness, and Enchantment: Furor. This gives Mundo a very high amount of durability and damage.

Anyways, I'm heading out to eat supper. I'll be back in a bit to reply to your comments on this.

Since Mundos AS isn't so high and with the changes of Wits End I would add it to the core damage items. Sunfire/Spirit Visage as core definsive items depending on what resitence you need more and probably even a Frozen Malet as a situational 6th item for On-hit slow + some damage and HP.
Mundo gets a lot of free damage from his masochism, combining with Atmas, Wits and his abilities is should be enough damage. Too much damage and less tankyness would just hurt him because he would die faster in a TF and you want to stay alive as much as you can in there while dishing out your various dps.

Must say I found this kinda funny, even if you say "almost no exceptions" lol
And when the blood was sprinkled on the ground where nothing could grow, the Children of the Dragon did spring up, the People of the Dragon, armed to dance with death till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit into Sightblinder's eye on the Last Day. And he did call them forth from the wasted lands, and they did shake the world with battle.

@Melchee: Yeah, Wit's End is arguably core on this Mundo. But, I prefer Spirit Visage for the magic resist and Zephyr for attack speed.

@rekh: Mhm, that's the exact build I have in my League item set. :o

I mean how you list Atma's Impaler as a "Noobtrap" in your signature despite using it in this very build, lol.

I knew people would comment on that. Like my signature says, there are exceptions (except for Wriggle's, **** Wriggle's). Mundo is one of those exceptions, since he scales very well with health.

lol Havoc gives you an extra 2 dmg per 100 dmg and with resistances it turns into 1 extra damage =)
Thanks to FatelBlade, JEFFY40HANDS, Nyoike, TheNamelessBard, GrandmasterD, aviseras and koksei for the awesome signatures

Okay this is not supposed to be a discussion about my signature. Let's go back to the build, shall we?

I always try to sinergyze abilites, hence building almost always Sunfire Aegis and Wit's End on Dr. Mundo. He needs the AS to dish out some damage and extra magic damage helps a lot. And since you're a meatshield, your cape will damage everybody, even if it's for ~26 damage/second on a Runic Bulwark'd team. At least on the poor bastard you're hitting you'll be doing decent damage.

And I only go for more damage if way ahead, and even then I'm hella tanky. Whatever boots, cape's end combo, Warmog's Armor. Then it's whatever I feel gives me an edge.
