Well I started League of Legends a couple of months ago when a friend of mine requested me to. It around the time of my 10th grade IGCSE exams so it was actually pretty stupid thing to do, but I did it anyway. Before this game I had actually never played anything on PC as I was console person who was getting pissed due the fact I couldn't get a newer console and the new and awesome games were only being made them. I was stuck, I thought this is the end of my gaming life.

So I downloaded my first PC game (exciting) and I realised. I have a really ****py laptop... It has 3gb RAM and runs windows 7 and it 8 years old (yeesh). I run the game and I see that I am only getting like 10 fps (literally), and it was hell. By the time I can make a decision on what to do the game has already changed and something else has to be done. It was frustrating.

Now everyone would be like, why not upgrade to a better laptop or better yet get a desktop? The thing is all of this costs money and …

League of Legends Philippines is pure cancer. You cant play a classic match without a Yasuo in it. Its either your Yasuo gets fed and trash talk you because his/her score is much better than yours or the enemy team's Yasuo gets fed and murder everyone on your team and trash talks you. There are good Yasuo mains out there, the ones that doesnt brag about how fed he is, how strong his BROKEN champion has become. Shoutout to those Yasuo mains that flashes their badges the whole game, it shows how ****ty your personality is. If youre proud of yourself doing impressive plays, thats good, but if you think that showing your LEVEL 7 badge to the enemy team the whole game will make you win the game, it wont :).

Slowly but surely I am making my way through Silver 1. A couple of weeks ago, I was stuck in/around low S1/high S2, and incrementally my "center" is moving up - I am now mid-high S1, with a couple of failed Gold promo series in the bank (looking forward to the free wins when I get back there!). It is challenging, how swingy League can be at times, be it over the course of one or multiple game sessions. I had an 8 game losing streak between Solo and Flex Queue, followed by going 5 of 7 after that. Two days ago, I lost three games ago before winning four in a row. It reminds me of the feeling of turbulence landing into O'Hare.

One of the big things I try to remember is that for me, I am playing this game purely for fun. A quick thought about climbing in League, and its not just about not tilting and not quitting:

Last night, I hit Silver 1 and am a tier away from my top rank to finish 2017. Now, yes I want to hit that Gold tier again, but to be open about it, I am not really focusing on that, or any particular rank, as a goal. It's great if and when it happens, but the season is the entire year. So how DO I approach the game when I have that long of a runway to consider?

Every time I start a game of League, I begin with the exact same setup as everyone else, give or take a small percentage, and it is my job to make the most of whatever that amount is by playing the best game I can. It means that in the early game, I need to prudently manage the bottom lane and control my excitement at points, respecting threats and seeking opportunities to gain advantages while avoiding opening myself up for the opposition to do the same. Ok so I've been playing ranked lately because i feel like it's finally time i tried for it but i have the problem of being provisional right now and when i play ranked my playing style is simply to much for it to be effective i have gotten better with vision control and trying to play safer but i get the feeling that even things i do right is just not improving my ranked plays so i just want help to figure out how to do things correctly where to do them, like lane pressure which i can do when i play support because two people bot but other lanes like jg, top and mid i have a struggle to put lane pressure on the opposing team and i struggle against champions like Riven or Zed because i unfortunately get all the smurfs or people who are just good enough to at least best me so all i ask for is some help with ranked so i can finally climb the ladder and hopefully at least get to silver instead of being stuck on bronze II
