Is Nidalee good to pickup in plat? Does she scale well into late game or is early to mid champ?
FangorHelmsar | May 5, 2020 12:36am
Dear Pyroen,

thank you for your awesome guide. I choose Nidalee to be my only champion since I saw her for the first time. I played LoL in season 2014 and 2015 and then I left for a while :-D. But I am back and really looking forward to ride her again. I wish to learn how to rule the jungle as this role is quite new for me.

If you have some time can you please add some guide on Wall pounces and Flash + Trapping + Warding + Spear spots and tips for aiming? There was ome good tips in this now very old Nida guide from Lexosceles:

:-) have a good hunt!

Hello, I play only Warring Kingdoms Nidalee :-).

Hi! I've been following your guide for a while now and I think it's very well made but I think it's missing some things: combo suggestions; when to start solo and when to ask for leash; more match-ups.

Combo suggestions > Not much to say about this I think this is pretty straight forward.

Solo start? > I know you address this topic but you just say people can take that route and not when.
I'm in low ello and, with that said I don't know if my teammates would know how to take a bigger advantage from Lvl 1 no leash than I would with their help power-farming. If I'm going to carry, might as well ask for a little help doing so, am I right?

Match-ups > I don't know if you have a good understanding of lower ello picks/games since you are master and obviously the picks are very different so, in my opinion for example, I would like to know how to face some spammed champs I play against since the power of OTP outplays is not in me (yet I hope :)).
I've been facing a lot of Nocturnes and Master "Yeets" lately and I've had some trouble fighting them and wanted your opinion/help:

Nocturne > Very strong ganker and 1v1, has the potential to invade me and dueling him is almost always a "gray screen" because of that freaking annoying shield. Also people in my ello tend to be very aggressive and champions like Nocturne and Yi tend to abuse pushed lanes without vision.

Master Yi > Same as Nocturne, not so great as 1v1 tho. I would compare him as a Nidalee with a different play-style, they have similar strengths and weaknesses when it comes to jungling, fighting with him (not fed) is basically a coin-flip.

Sorry for the extensive critic to your guide and thanks for the time you took to read. Overall very good guide and I hope you understand it all I said and don't take it wrong.

Hello Pyroen,

I've been a fan of Nidalee for some time now, (even though I can't really play her that well), what do you personally think about her? Is she good? Most of all, is she worth learning, wondering about this considering she's got a relatively high skill cap considering she has 2 different forms that you'll need to master to be able to understand her.

You're doing a really great job at explaining what you should be doing on Nidalee across your guide, but I haven't seen a section about what to do during the early game, for example, should I be farming my camps, ganking lanes or taking objectives? What would be the most important things that I as a nidalee should be doing, other than the types of jungle routes that are available for me to clear.

Apart from this, I really like it. :)

Hey there!

Good question! Early game for Nidalee falls into two schools of thought:

Nidalee is a Early Game Aggressive Ganker
Nidalee is a Power Farmer

Personally: 9 times out of 10 I lean towards power farmer. Nidalee can realistically and consistently solo start farm 5 camps (leaving gromp on the table) and get to scuttle at the 3:15 mark to contest the spawn of it. or full 6 camp if you are given a baller leash by your bot lane (giving you level 4 when typically your opponent is lvl 3.. or late to the spawn) This gives you a consistent opener for the game.

I prefer to play her as a Level 6 champ as that is when your kitty form abilities really start to pack a punch - given her mobility you can go for the early game aggressive ganker (which can lead to an early snowball) but the risk/reward is something you will need to measure as a player in the moment.

TL:DR Farm Til 6 - and then prioritize neutral objectives/enemy camps. (Dragons/blue/red/krugs/raptors) Also with Nidalee - remember that you can clear INSANELY fast compared to most Junglers so going 1 for 1 in any situation is 99% not worth it given the cost of time spent on a grey screen

I love your guide! Surprising that it is your first. But isn't taking electrocute better for the early game, especially for an early game snowball champion like nidalee? I know that dark harvest scales a lot better but isn't electrocute just more consistent? Also why do you think he has the highest skill cap in the game? I know she is REALLY REALLY hard (I made a tier list of what I think the hardest champions in the game) but what makes you think that she has a higher skill cap than someone like azir or yasuo?
Pyroen (4) | September 7, 2019 11:34am
Hey Wailord - Good question on the Electrocute:

Electrocute is better in the early game and can be much more reliable for those skirmishes. If you are struggling in the early game that can definitely be a viable option.

I prefer Dark Harvest due to the later game scaling and the synergy with your Javelin Toss. If an enemy is below 40% and you are sieging it makes for a quick kill without having to commit to melee range to proc your Electrocute

"What makes you think that she has a higher skill cap than someone like azir or yasuo?"

I think Nidalee has the highest skill cap due to the 2 forms and the necessity of outplaying not only your opponents but also jungle mobs.

I checked out your tier list tho - was a good read! :)

So I love your guide! It inspired me to start writing them as well! What do you think the benefits are for the solo self start?
Pyroen (4) | September 1, 2019 5:32pm
Thank you sir!

I'm usually pretty critical towards myself so I'm always appreciative when someone likes my guide/comments.

(Also - I've checked out some of your guides and they are really well written! Kudos to you sir!)

In order to answer your question: "What do you think the benefits are for the solo self start?"

I would say the primary benefit of a solo start is guaranteeing your laner's have the initial level one advantage. Especially if they know how to slow push a wave to themselves it will essentially give themselves a ungankable lane for the first 2-3 minutes.
Secondary benefit would be masking your starting location - In this guide i detailed and showed the raptor solo start but a similiar start/path could be utilized going wolves>blue>rapt>red>krugs into ganking bot lane (that lane you have already freed from level one leashing responsibilities)Few junglers can utilize a solo start and when you are trying to manipulate the game to your will, this is one additional tool you can employ.

Thank you for the question!

I'm new to Nidalee and find her really satisfying when landing the spear. My problem is when I do I sometimes struggle to follow up. Is there a generic combo people use to burst someone? Also how do you tell if you should keep chasing?
Pyroen (4) | April 24, 2019 2:55pm
Hey Salampster, Good question!

As you play Nidalee a bit more you will start to know her powerspikes. Typically when I get my Sorc boots/Obliv orb/Runic echoes I start to feel pretty unstoppable. But remember your Cat form abilities scale with your ultimate levels 6/11/16 are huge for you in terms of 1 shot/burst the enemy. Also remember to look at the tab screen often to see if they are build MR against you - if they are be careful because your 1shot potential goes down significantly.

In a 1v1 duel/battle you want to maximize your damage by Spear/AA/R/W/AA/Q/E/AA (AA = auto attack)

When deciding how far you should be chasing you have to weigh the risk reward - if your camps are up its usually a bad idea to continue chasing deep into enemy territory. Best case scenario you can expect is a 1 for 1 - with your hyper clear speeds you are going to be losing more than you're gaining.

Also - making an enemy back is often times just as beneficial: Especially if that opens up a counter jungle opportunity for you.
TormitEUW | October 27, 2019 9:28pm
I'm a bit confused about the combo you used. Isn't Q a good executioner skill? (last hit). I'm intrigued on how you said the combo should end in Q/E instead of E/Q since the lower the enemies' health the higher the dmg

Damn bro, sick guide! It's good to see some more good Nida guides out there that actually give info on all the runes, items, and matchups!
