[10.23] Monkeying around [WIP Updating for Preseason]

About me WIP Back to Top
Hi there Folks! My name is PnuTru. I've played League since season 4 but started actively ranking starting season 9 where I got to Diamond 4 on I just wanna. I'm currently focused on playing on my l dont wanna account.
I plan on taking that account to Diamond with Wukong,Shen, and Sion and on the way there I will be updating this guide and implementing what I've learned on my way to Diamond.
Why Wukong? WIP Back to Top

Wukong is one of the strongest champions that you can pick right now in the Mid and Top Lane. This is due to Wukong's passive which allows him to deal with most top laners because of the amount of armor it gives him, this also allows him to deal with AD Mid assassins very well, especially when they build lethality.
Pros / Cons WIP Back to Top
+ very tanky against AD
+ great healing in teamfights
+ high damage reduction
+ good escape
+ up to 3 knockups for teamfights
+ low cooldowns

Wukong has very high amounts of armor because his passive Stone Skin gives him 30-66 bonus armor at max stacks, it also gives him maximum hp healing too which gives him extra survivability in team fights. His ultimate ability Cyclone also gives him up to three area-of-effect knockups as well. His Crushing Blow allows to destroy armor and its cooldown goes down everytime Wukong or his Warrior Trickster hits something.
- uses a lot of mana
- high cooldown for his escape

Wukong has low base mana at low levels but even lower cooldowns. His Crushing Blow costs little mana but you use it a lot as you fight and with its low cooldown you continue to drain your low mana pool. His Warrior Trickster also has a high cooldown starting at 20 seconds so if you use it too early you lose your escape.
Runes WIP Back to Top

Out of the all the keystones, conqueror is the one that suits Wukong the most. Wukong's passive gives him armor and healing as he stacks it while conqueror gives him damage and healing as he stacks that. Together conqueror and his passive make for an amazing combo that makes him such a strong bruiser chmapion, especially against AD champions. All of the precision keystones work pretty well on Wukong so its up to your play-style. If you're getting bullied alot and need more healing then go Fleet Footwork. If you want to go bop bop attack speed and onhit then go Lethal Tempo If you want to have short trades but do mad damage then go Press the Attack
Honestly all three runes work well with Wukong. Triumph is just the best for the overall situation as you are always going to be in the middle of fights so you'll be taking tons of damage, but with triumph you stand a higher chance of surviving. Overheal is better if you think you're going to pop off because you get a pretty hefty shield once you get your lifesteal up and going. Presence of Mind is kinda situational because you don't need that much mana, but if you don't like going Trinity force then definitely go Presence of Mind since you'll need the mana you're missing from not having Sheen
Out of the three Legend: runes bloodline is my go to. Legend: Alacrity is probably the worst out of the three for Wukong as it only gives him a 18% attack speed boost at max stacks, Wukong's Nimbus Strike already gives him 40% at level 1 so alacrity is irrelevant. Legend Tenacity is situational based on the enemy team, I always go this if they have 2 or more champions with hard cc.
Cut Down is the worst for Wukong because he ends up becoming tanky with a bity of HP so you can't fully use Cut Down. Last Stand is pretty good but with my builds you always have lifesteal and quite a bit of it so you basically heal out of the Last Stand bonus damage. Coup de Grace is the best because you will almost always make the enemy dead or near dear dead, so the chances of you getting the bonus damage is basically guaranteed
You don't really need the attack speed rune because your Nimbus Strike gives you a good attack speed boost and your Crushing Blow will give you an auto reset, so getting the attack speed rune is not necessary for fighting at all. It's better to have double adaptive runes because you'll have around 90 AD level 1 and your third rune is all dependent on your laner. Ex: AD champion get armor, AP champion get magic resist, and if you can't tell then go HP
