By Sociopath Zac
About me

Hello everyone, first, sorry for my english, im Sociopath Zac , also known as Orax. I'm a Grandmaster/Challenger Jungler in EUW and i already got Challenger in NA/EUNE/TR/RU. I'm an OTP zac as long as i remember, im a pretty well known zac player know for really high winrate and high kda while smurfing, that's why i think im able to give you everything i can, to make you able to carry your own games, i give you some example of what i have done this season, even if i didn't play a lot, i was still able do to some great things in my opinion.

Rank 1, 2, 3 Zac World :

High winrate smurfs :

Pros / Cons
+ Can regenerate in the jungle with its blobs
+ Good Tank
+ Not item dependant
+ Great mobility with his E
+ Lots of CC
+ Pretty good damage
+ Can peel or engage
+ Really good to protect tower
+ Huge engage / disengage

Zac is a champion with a unique kit, a tank, with a lot of mobility, he is very good at what he does, engages, tanks, wastes time to the enemy thanks to his blobs and his passive

- Really weak in early game
- E can be canceled by a lot of abilities
- Can't really gank before 4
- Easy to kite
- Lot's of champion counter Zac

Zac is not the easiest champion to play, many champion can override his E, tresh, janna, poppy, gragas, reksai etc... Zac is an extremely weak champion at the start of the game, his early game cooldown on his E is very large, over 20 seconds, generally speaking, unless you are late game and have more than 20 seconds. 40% cdr, use your E smartly.

This is obviously the best rune page you can get for Zac.

Explanation for main runes

Aftershock is obviously a must have, it grants a static 35 (+ 80% bonus armor) bonus armor and 35 (+ 80% bonus magic resistance) bonus magic resistance for 2.5 seconds. It's really good for tank jungler, and for dive for example

Font of life is a really good rune, that make you able to peel a bit your allies, allied champions (excluding you) who basic attack marked enemies Heal power heal for 5 (+ 1% of your Health icon maximum health) over 1.75 seconds.

Bone plating or Conditioning, it usually depend of the enemy composition, if you feel you are going to fight a lot early game, or if the enemy team is an early AD one, go for Bone Plating , rest of time, go for Conditioning
Revitalize is also a must have, it grants 5% Heal and shield power. Outgoing healing and outgoing shielding is increased by 10% on targets below 40% health. It's just broken with zac.

Sorcery rune page

Usual page, except for one thing, the transcendence is broken, it give you 5 ability haste lvl 5, another 5 ability haste lvl 9, and lvl 11, "On champion Damage takedowns, reduce the remaining cooldown of your basic abilities by 20%."

You know what that mean ?

When you jump on someone, you kill him, it reduce your CD of your E, and with the huge CDR you already have, you can jump 2-3 second right after. Abuse it. gathering storm is also a must have right now.

Tenacity rune page

This page is usefull when you face a team with a lot's of CC, with the tenacity, and triump is always good, especially on tanks, it give a loooot's of HP

Inspiration rune page

This rune page is also good, it give you free boots, and make you able to run faster to enemy on which you use your Q on, it's pretty good too.

P.S : For the little 3 runes, you want, like you can see on all screens,

- AP

- Armor you can also swap here for Magic Resist in case there are a lot of AP in enemy team, for example, Elise jungle and Syndra mid.

Passive : Each time Zac hits an enemy with an ability, he sheds a chunk of himself that can be reabsorbed to restore 4% of his maximum health.
Upon taking fatal damage, Zac splits into 4 chunks that attempt to recombine. If any of these chunks remain after 8 / 7 / 6 / 5 / 4 seconds, he will revive with 10-50% health depending on the health of the surviving chunks. Each chunk has 12% of Zac's maximum health, and 50% of his armor and magic resistance. This ability has a static cooldown and is unaffected by cooldown reduction.

Q : Zac stretches his left arm in the target direction, dealing 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 / 100 (+30% of ability power) (+2.5% of Zac's maximum health) magic damage and slowing the first enemy hit by 40% for 0.5 seconds, as well as attaching it to the target for 2 seconds.
While his arm is attached, his next basic attack is replaced by a second Stretching Strike, gaining 125 bonus attack range and dealing the same magic damage and slow.
If both Stretching Strikes affect two different targets, he flings them against each other, dealing the initial magic damage around the point of collision and applying the slow again.

W : Zac's body erupts, dealing magic damage equal to 25 / 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 plus 4 / 4.5 / 5 / 5.5 / 6% (+2% per 100 ability power) of their maximum Health to all nearby enemies (max 200 damage against minions and monsters). Picking up a chunklet reduces Unstable Matter's cooldown by one second. Hitting a jungle monster allows Zac to walk through them.

E : Zac faces the cursor and begins charging for up to 1 second. Upon reactivating the ability, he launches himself towards the target location, dealing 60 / 110 / 160 / 210 / 260 (+90% of ability power) magic damage to all enemies hit and knocking them back for 0.5-1 second(s), based on how long Zac charged Elastic Slingshot. Zac creates extra chunks for each additional champion he hits with this ability.

Can be cancelled by moving or after 0.9 / 1 / 1.1 / 1.2 / 1.3 seconds of channeling, refunding 50% of the health cost and halving the cooldown.

R :
Passive: Increases Cell Division's healing from chunks by 1 / 2 / 3% of Zac's maximum health.

Active: Zac bounces 4 times, knocking back and dealing 140 / 210 / 280 (+40% of ability power) magic damage to enemies he hits. While bouncing, Zac gains 20% - 50% bonus movement speed and can cast Unstable Matter.

Enemies hit by Let's Bounce! are slowed by 20% for 1 second after being knocked back. Enemies hit by multiple bounces take 50% less damage for every bounce beyond the first and are not displaced more than once.

For the skill order, max E then W then Q, and obviously R when you can.

You mostly have two choices for the first item Sunfire or Frostfire Gauntlet those items arereally strong for different reasons, at first theses items, unlike in the previous seasons, where we had to buy a "jungler item", they gives armor AND magic resistance , and finally ability haste, sunfire also give 5 ability haste for any other legendary items you build. And Frostfire give 100 HP for each other lengendary items you buyand +6% size.

Frostfire Gauntlet
This item is really good on zac, it give what zac needed last season, resistences in early game, with +50 armor and +20 magic resistance, a good slow with the passive, and give 100 HP for each other lengendary items you buy and +6% size. Right now zac is in lack of HP compare to s10 he was kinda in lack of resistances

Sunfire Aegis
The item is still fine, it give -20 armor but +5 magic resistance compare to Frostfire, and give ability haste and not HP for each other legendary items. But i would recommend to buy Frostfire, Zac doesnt do much of Auto-Attacks in a fight, so he doesnt proc lot's of time the sunfire passive, compare to a Nunu.

Ah and also, you can take red or blue smite, i prefer red smite personnaly, it make zac able to win more duel, but take blue smite, if you place versus things that will want to escape from you, like Janna, Ezreal etc.

Dark Seal

This item is probably the most important on zac with the new buff, the ap ratio make you obviously make more dmg, and clear the jungle faster, with zac, you shouldn't die too much, having dark seal is really valuable.

Spirit Visage

Core item, give cdr, hp, better healing from blobs.

Good item give, 350 HP 60 Armor, good stats too, the passive give you the healing reduction, which is nice overall.

Warmog's armor

Still decent item, huge pool of HP, good in second item

Gargoyle Stoneplate

This item is really good, it gives 15 Ability Haste, 60 Armor, 60 Magic Resistance, and a really good passive that give you a huge shield, it make you tankier, and also can make you able to bait the enemies, by using it when you are low HP.

Randuin's Omen

Randuin, an old broken item on zac, the item kinda got nerfed, since the old passive is now an active, and it give -200 hp than the old one, the item is good, but it's situational, if you have lot's of attack speed champion on enemy team, using the passive that reduce the attack speed after your combo can be good

Knight's vow
Knight Vow has always has been a good low cost item, buy and use it if you want to peel someone, since you can't build solaris anymore, it's kinda the only decent item you can buy to help you team.

Cosmic Drive

If you want to carry, this item is pretty good, you just need 160 ap to have the passive effects, if you play tank, you need other AP item, stack of darkseal etc... You have to adapt by yourself

Plated Steelcaps

Boots to use when you have a lot of enemies that are dependant of their auto-attacks.

Mercury's Treads

Boots to use when you face a lot of champions that have hard CC.

Ionian Boots of Lucidity

These boots are pretty good overall, they give 20 ability haste on the new patch 11.1, and they also give 10% of cdr of summoners spells, now, im gonna explain why flash in important on zac, in certain situation you will face an enemy extremely fed, let's said you face an adc really fed, what you will want to do, is to keep you flash, and on the next teamfight, you will want to Q something, and Flash, auto attack and full combo the fed enemy, to try to kill him, i will show you that in a video, the video also show you how to optimize you damage with zac, look closely to the auto-attacks

And also, between red smite and blue smite, you can go for red smite if you want to win more duel, and you can go for blue smite to make some champion easier to CC, champs such like Janna or Ezreal.

Early Game

Zac is really weak in early game, you will have to play safe, and try to find some opportunities, otherwise, just farm, until you have Bamis, you start to be pretty strong when you hit lvl 6 and you have at least Bamis.

But you can gank pre-4... YES. After doing 3 camps you can gank mid, if it's possible, you have to analyze yourself, and test multiple time, if it's possible, an example

Mid Game

Mid game zac start to be interesting when you have 1-2-3 items, you are really strong, now you really want to play around objectives and your strong lane, the cdr of your E is really lower and you can do new things.

Let me give you an example, zac is really good to defend turrets. Why ? Because when someone push a turret, zac can kill every minions, CC the enemy and make him take the turret aggro, which result into the death of this enemy, let me show you in video :

Late game

Mostly, you have two options with Zac, engage or peel in late game, zac is pretty good in late game, you have to decide what's the best to do in your game, i sadly can't say what's always the best, it's not possible, but remember, zac is good at being annoying for the enemy team, so try to be it as much as possible !

Im not going to explain every matchup, and i'm pretty sure if you have some games on zac, you will find this tierlist pretty accurate, the "DENY JUMP" is obviously champ that can make zac useless my canceling it. Try to avoid them.
How to jump
Here i give you few examples to show you, where to jump.

The Green Point show Zac, Red Point show an Enemy, and the pink point mean a pink ward

The pink is CRUCIAL you really don't want to let your enemies see where you are and especially WHEN you are going to jump.

Im pretty sure a lot of you know it, you can jump like that to steal the dragon when the enemy team is doing it, using the smite.

Gank Botlane

Push T2

When enemy team in pushing into your base, this place is really strong because if they only took the Mid, if you just on the Green Point, enemy team won't even see you.

At the end, you want to jump from somewhere your enemies won't be able to see you, that's the most important.

Thanks for reading my guide, hope this has helped you. I will update this guide really often.
