Hi, My name is Just1kb. I've been a league player since the end of Season 2 and have experienced a lot during my time. I've peaked at 100lp Diamond 1 in Season 10 and will look to get Master this coming season!!! all of my preseason content will be coming!!

I never started out a gamer, i was unlucky as to how gaming was viewed around me growing up, i didn't have the luxury of Call Of Duty MW2 lobbies when i was younger or even growing up with any games console for that matter.i built my first PC when i turned 15 and started playing league ever since! I have never been naturally gifted when it comes to video games! it has taken me over 6 years of grinding and 6 years of learning to get where i am now! i hope this guide shows you some simple tips and ideas on how to improve your Darius gameplay! and i hope you tune in to my stream to say hi!! I started playing league back in season 2, i had never played ranked and i only started to really climb when i could put more hours into the game! I have huge amounts of Darius experience in every ELO starting in Silver when I picked up Darius in S5. This guide provides the basics of playing Darius in EUW and how u can play him effectively and climb easily. This year i am currently aiming to get masters and hopefully higher!!!

This champion is tons of fun and **** anyone who says otherwise! Its no big secret that Darius doesn't have the skill expression other champions do, i think the most enjoyable thing about playing this champion is that he can highlight mistakes in your opponents game which makes playing him even more satisfying, the enemy player realizes they could of done more but they were just unable to due to the lack of positioning or not reading your cool-downs. This has actually led me to preferring to play against ranged counter picks in top lane, purely because they don't know their champion limits and they make way more mistakes! Happy Dunking people! + Able to turn a jungle gank into a double kill.

+ He can go down but he is never out.
A feeding Darius can easily get back
into the game with a few kills in a team fight.
+ Good Survivability.
+ Helpful in team fights.
+ Ranged Skills.
+ Can deal TONS of damage.
+ Very low mana cost on ALL of his abilities.
+ Decimate deals massive damage if the enemy is hit properly.
+ Noxian Guillotine refreshed after a successful kill with it.

- very easy to kite.
-Missing your E means death.
-In higher elo's landing your Q is difficult as its easy to spot.
-Falls off Post 40-50mins
-if u are behind early its a struggle.

Hemorrhage is the most important part of the Darius kit. The bonus AD you can get by reaching 5 stacks in teamfights or in lane can swing the gamestate in your favour at the right time. Everything you do in lane must be situated around this passive, as knowing when to trade passively with lower stacks and when to reach 5 stacks can influence how much of an early bully you are in lane! The bonus AD reaching 5 stacks gives you amplifies every other ability as they scale on this amplified damage. The key within teamfights is making sure you spend the maximum amount of time up with Noxian Might This way you can guarantee the maximum amount of damage.

Decimate(Q) is essential to master in order to effectively hit your enemies at the edge of the blade, It gives Darius massive amounts of 1v1,1v2 and 1v3 pressure as the healing you can get scales on how many targets you can hit with the edge of the blade (up to 3). It has a relatively low mana cost but you can run out easily if you try and spam it, make sure you use it effectively and only last hit with it when you are behind or in an unfavorable, or ranged matchup.

Crippling Strike (W) This is used as an auto reset to get Noxian Might quicker during a combo. It can also be used in conjunction with flash to get you quick and unexpected kills. It scales of Noxian Might and can be used on towers to split push effectively. It has a low cooldown and can be reset in half and the mana refunded when it is used as the killing blow. This is an essential tool when learning to last hit under your tower and its 90% slow is useful when keeping targets in range of your other abilities in order to get easy kills.

Apprehend (E) This ability is essential to doing well with Darius, landing this can grant you easy kills or assists. Using this well will make you effective even against ranged poke. The armor pen is really nice into tanks, and can help you transfer into the mid game. the best combo you should use with it is an (E) auto (W) as the (E) has a slow built into it. You can also (E) AA and w if you are fast enough as this will guarantee 5 stacks. Your (E) is essential in engaging in team fights as you can hook multiple people and engaging match winning team fights!!!!

Noxian Guillotine (R) The SLAM DUNK!! This ultimate is insane and can be essential in winning fights. This move is the ultimate finishing move!! Combined with your 5 stacks of Hemorrhage, you become an absolute monster in teamfights. At rank 3, if Noxian Guillotine kills its target, its cooldown resets completely!! You can combo this ability in a 2v1 in order to completely change the outcome of a lane once you hit level 6. You need to be careful as this ability counts as a dash, so any other moves for example Miasma cancel it.

Playing around your Passive.
When using Darius, it is essential that you understand how to play around his passive. When Darius damages an enemy, they take 1 stack of Hemorrhage or bleed, once you reach 5 stacks of hemorrhage, you gain Noxian Might for 5 seconds which applies bonus damage to your abilities scaling from 30-230 per level. In lane you need to keep count of how many stacks you have applied to your opponent and when the best chance to get 5 stacks and use noxian might, will be. In most case scenarios it is better to aim for 5 stacks at the start of every fight so that you can use the maximum damage combo possible. It is also wise to try and passive juggle. This is when you gain 5 stacks of Hemorrhage in a team fight and look to auto or attack other opponents which prolongs the duration of the stacks and therefore the duration of Noxian Might. Be wary though as this does not apply to minions and monsters, only champions. The main thing to get across is knowing when to try and go for 5 stacks and when to surprise your opponent with a Flash Decimate when they are on 4. Another thing to mention is that if an enemy is on 4 stacks and you manage to Decimate him with other opponents in your Decimate range you will get 5 stacks and also apply a full 5 stacks to any other enemies hit, this is another more advanced form of passive juggling. Refer to the video for a visual reference.
Basic Combos.
The easiest damage combo for Darius is Apprehend, AA, Crippling Strike, Decimate. This applies 3 stacks of Hemorrhage, its really good for poking in lane and showing early dominance. If the enemy has flash or No escape you change the combo to E, AA,AA,W,Q. This is because of the E slow which can allow you to path forwards and get another AA off on the enemy. This combo also ensures that your next auto will get you 5 stacks while you are in range. This combo is insane when you can use you R. so this makes in a half hp execution combo. E,AA,AA,W,Q,AA,R. this should kill most people at half hp or higher, during the early to mid-game. It is really important as a Darius player to practice how fast you can W,Q. You need to be able to animation cancel this ability so that it looks like one Decimate motion but with the Crippling Strike. Refer to the video for a more in depth look and a visual representation.
Make sure that you only use E Apprehend when it is absolutely necessary. The cool down is insane at its level 1 so you must learn to use it efficiently and effectively. It is not vital to use in a poke combo, walk up to your laner and try to path inside their movements. If the laner is smart they will always play around your E as they have 24 seconds to go in and out of trades. try to punish people when they have no cool downs or no escape, combo your E alongside your W in order to make people stick to you. When you are getting ganked wait until the last second to E, this way you can get the slow from it and escape effectively.
Early Game.
Darius is an insane lane bully in the early game. you need to quickly ***es how effective you can be at punishing your laner and adapt different styles in order to effectively gain a solid early lead. If you are against a Yasuo for example you can afford to push the early lanes and you have a clear advantage against him when going into level 3. If you are confident enough you can force hard aggressive trades while trying to 1v2 the enemy jungler if the Yasuo is low enough. The problem comes when you face someone like a Vayne or someone with ranged poke. I would suggest not pushing the first two waves, let them push into you and sustain, if the enemy pushes too far forward and you have higher HP than them go in with Ghost and run that *** down! If you are worried about jungle pressure try to force your jungler up and take a lane trade if possible while making sure you start whatever combo u decide to do with a Q, this enables you to get a really easy 1st stack in which you can long trade the two enemies with your jungler and then reuse your Q again once it comes off of cool down. If you decide that you want to push the first wave against someone ranged, try to hard push the 3rd wave, this way you can back on another Doran’s item while also making sure the 4th wave crashes just below your tower putting you in a freezing position and enabling you to run them down with ghost and small item advantage. Flanking in brushes early as Darius is really nice! whenever you can look to cheese and flank your opponent as you can usually hit a Q,AA,W really quickly from a brush and burn a flash. If you find yourself falling behind as Darius pick up boots as early as possible and try and get phage, farm under tower and look to roam mid with ghost whenever it is up! more than not the enemy toplaner will get annoyed at how safe you are playing and try to dive with the jungler! YOU CAN OUTPLAY THIS WITH YOUR E AND Q!!!!! make sure you use your E,Q at the last second under tower for a true combo and a very annoyed enemy top and jungle!
Mid Game.
Mid game can be tricky for a Darius player. Lots of small decisions need to be taken into account when going into mid-game as these things can dictate what you do and how you do it. Mid-game is where Darius spikes the hardest, you can hit level 11 and 16 and your Ult can completely decimate enemy teams! The hardest part about this stage of the game is deciding whether or not to commit to pushing top lane and destroying towers or rotating around the map to push your lead that you gained in the early game. A good rule of thumb for a Darius player is to look at the lead you have and if it can dictate objective control, this way you can understand how efficient it is to help your team push objectives or if it would be wiser to create pressure in top and force more enemy team members from objectives. If an important objective is up it is essential that you slow push top and rotate down, if you can save ghost and flash for these fights around objectives that is an added bonus, which can win games. In low Elo it is so important to take control of fights after 15 minutes, as 9/10 games are won and lost during this time! ESPECIALLY in plat and Below. It is really important to prioritize Herald effectively in the mid game, as you may or may not know herald deals 2000 true damage to the tower! towers gain more stats the more people are around them and the lower they are! SO!!! make sure you use herald to execute them not start on them! From 20mins onward you need to be constantly rotating around the side-lanes to create pressure while looking for flanks with your team around objectives! it is essential in this part of the game to save ghost for important fights as it can win or lose you team fights as Darius. One final tip for mid-game is ple***ssse try not to die!! this halts your ability to create pressure in the side-lanes and ultimately gives back map control and pressure to the enemy team, meaning they can control objectives which decides the game.
Late Game.
This is the saddest part of the game as a Darius player. If the game is not over by 40 minutes then it is a lot harder to win by yourself, by this time the enemy ADC and midlaner can shred through you! However you can still catch people out and look to hard engage on their ADC with a Flash E! Your main objective however in late game is to engage second and protect your backline! If you can kill someone in a sidelane then your team should be able to rotate and take objectives however your damage is staggered and you do get out-scaled by a lot of champions during this part of the game!
Patch 10.5
Hemorrage damage to monsters - 120% > 175%

Be careful when leashing jungles as your passive hurts now, i would recommend getting Red to 900hp and backing out! instead of 5 stacks. your sustain and clear from behind using the jungle camps is lightly buffed. Its not insane and the clear is still lackluster.
Patch 10.6
BONUS PHYSICAL DAMAGE 50/55/60/65/70% total attack damage ⇒ 40/45/50/55/60% total attack damage
COST 30 mana ⇒ 40 mana
COST 45 mana ⇒ 70/60/50/40/30 mana

These nerfs will only hit lower skilled players who can't control their Mana correctly, i actually like this change as it means there can be some more skill expression when playing Darius.
The W change is acceptable as he is still really effective in low elo, just down to the champion being able to capitalistic on mistakes easily. It is now just as important to save your E, and use it to decide fights instead of wasting it!

Death's Dance
ITEM BUILD Caulfield's Warhammer + Pickaxe + Vampiric Scepter + 625g ⇒ Caulfield’s Warhammer + Aegis of the Legion + Vampiric Scepter + 500g
STATS 80 attack damage, 10% cooldown reduction ⇒ 50 attack damage, 30 armor, 30 magic resist, 10% cooldown reduction
UNIQUE PASSIVE Stores 30% of all post-mitigation damage received and takes it as damage over time true damage ⇒ Stores 20% of all post-mitigation damage received for melee champions (30% for ranged champions) and takes it as damage over time true damage.

THIS!! THIS!!! THIS!!! LETS GOOOO!! This is massive for Darius it means that now we have another option once we finish tri-ster or cleaver-ster. the armor and MR alongside the Cool-down reduction means that our mid-game should be more rewarding and we shouldn't slow down too much into late game! The build path is nice as it allows us to choose the component required depending on if we are ahead or if we are falling behind!! nice job riot! i really like this change!!

19-03-2020 - tried Deaths Dance in a couple of games, i really like it!! i would argue that it is viable second if you go trinity first, not if you go cleaver due to the lack of HP and the need to get Sterak's for the damage amp! Make sure however you look at the team comps and build it around that first and foremost as the MR can become useless against a full ad comp as the damage doesn't make up for the efficiency. I would also argue that building Legion as a component after your Tri-Force or Black Cleaver is essential, then go Sterak's and finally finish your Deaths Dance afterwards!

20-03-2020 - i recommend getting DD third and then going situational, u still really need the Ster power spike second!

COOLDOWN 360 seconds ⇒ 420-240 (levels 1-18) seconds
(NEW)CAN'T CATCH ME Grants 3 seconds of 30-50% movement speed upon teleport completion based on character level (increased by 10% at levels 6 and 11)

Ghost is still OP, but i really like where they are heading with this! it might make TP viable on Darius in more situations but i wouldn't take it standard on him, maybe in clash or in master and above!

Dear Riot! i actually like this patch, i feel like Darius ban rate will fall due to these 'nerfs' but his overall skill expression and impact will likely stay stable!(in higher elo) i have a grave feeling that his win-rate will tank in low Elo, due to this mana change and people falling behind, building Deaths Dance and having no mana to back up the early E costs! But!!! we shall See!
Thoughts! - 1 Week into Patch 10.6
So the patch has been out for over a week now, here are so additional thoughts that i believe you should take into account when playing Darius during this patch!
1. Go Trinity whenever possible! This is down to the mana changes and sitting on an early sheen really helps you through to mid game!

2. Don't underestimate Gangplank! His passive make him deceptively strong and more and more players are picking him up again i have found!

3. Don't take Deaths Dance second! please go DD third or fourth, you need to get your Ster second, it is still very effective on Darius.

4. TP into certain match-ups is viable, for example Shen and now also Wukong if you need too.

5. Riven buffs are nothing to be afraid of for the next patch. from what i have seen they are only buffing her base health regen from 7-8.5.

6. Be prepared for Darius to stay like this for a while. at the moment he has a slightly negative winrate in Bronze, Silver, Gold and Plat. whereas in Diamond he has a slightly positive winrate! This is exactly what Riot intended and its commendable.
Not much to note here tbh, the Riven changes were needed and won't make a huge difference against Darius. Wukong is a bit easier for Darius early game, and nobody takes conditioning on Darius anyway so that doesn't matter. Phase rush buff is really nice and will be an effective choice into ranged poke once again! Nasus might get picked more which is good for Darius players as there is no way anyone should be losing that lane. Akali is still garbage so we will probs have to wait till 10.8 untill we see her return to some form. but all in all not a bad patch for Darius.

Thoughts! - 1 Week into Patch 10.7
1. really rough patch for Darius tbh, im getting banned almost every other game and the enemy team really utilise blade into me alot more than before.
2. make sure that you play safer early as camp is more likely.
3. Corruption pot first back is not a bad idea at the moment.
4. look to bann champs such as Syndra and Ezreal, they are picked way more frequently and can hurt you alot in the current meta.
5. Tp is still not a great alternative to ghost.
6. Sett players are learning how to beat Darius quite comfatably which is a problem.
7. Going Blade third or fourth is actually fairly viable. If you build it first you need to be really far ahead as it is very punishable.
8. Man i hate this patch.....

1.Gnar will still be annoying, but the buffs won't really effect his laning against Darius. The E damage late game might cause some problems but as long as you trade with him near the end of his form change you should be ok.
2.You might start seeing some Kayn's top. Don't fear this! you can still destroy him as long as you long trade him! make sure you avoid his W at all costs as the slow is now 90% allowing him to dodge your Q if you use it too early.
3.Quinn might be played more so be carefull and read up on my matchup.
4.Wukong is not as bad anymore, aslong as you can bait out his E you are able to beat him alot easier now! Still be carefull at level 6 if you are below half hp.
5.Sanguine blade could become more viable due to the price if you are looking to split push on Darius, i would build it 3rd or 4th.
6. Good luck this patch everyone!!
1.Irelia will not be a problem!! you really shouldn't be getting hit by her E if you have any hope in outrading her anyway.
2.Kled is easier to pressure. Kled's cooldown increases means that you can set the frequency of the trading early, as you have 3 more seconds to force him into a trade without his Q.
3. Moakie can be abused a bit harder. If you manage to get some more sustain earlier you can force Moakie out of lane due to his early mana costs.
4.Be careful of Soraka top. because her base damage has gone up again, you might see her in the toplane. Play safe and wait for ganks!! don't shove as she will bait with Barrier and call for Jungle help.
5.Twisted Fate will be played more. TF has been given loads of buffs in recent patches so please respect his level 6 and Gold card!
6.UDYR has placebo buffs! He won't do anything more than he already does, if he is picked into you kill him and if you have him on your team hope he is an OTP.
1.GP might be picked into Darius a bit more often now, He might go for more crit items now with the Zeal buffs and extra scaling attack speed, so randuins is really nice into him now.
2. ADC buffs..... this is gonna be rough for Darius! Try and ban Vayne every single game. If you get into a lane vs Ezreal or lucian its still best to dodge.
3. ALways go Socery second!! The movespeed buffs to items such as Zeal, PD, RFC, Static and Runaan's is gonna make it even harder to Gap close.
1. NEWGHOSTING THE BUILD-UP Ghost's movement speed now activates instantly
NEWTAKEDOWN MS EXTENSION Ghost's increased movement speed duration now extends by 4-7 seconds (levels 1-18) when you get a takedown
MOVEMENT SPEED 28-45% (levels 1-18) ⇒ 20-40% (levels 1-18)
COOLDOWN 180 seconds ⇒ 210 seconds - This is insane for Darius!! nimbus is now a must and will be even stronger!!!
2. UPDATEDUNFLINCHING - Gain 10% slow resist and 10% Tenacity. Gain up to 20% more slow resist and Tenacity based on missing health. - really nice for situational matchups! however i would still be taking Sorcery second!!

Overall these changes will help darius alot concerning teamfighting!! it is essential that you can save your sums for team fighting as to get the resets!!!
1. Darius seems to be doing slightly worse this patch. He still has an insane banrate with a very average win rate. Even in low elo it is falling and the Buffs to Ghost coming in patch 10.14 are very welcome!
2.Wukong is still doing very well into Darius i would consider banning him if you don't know who else to ban in this patch.
3. Another problem this patch is alot of champions Darius does well into are not getting the same amount of play time compared to last patch, as people are more inclined to outright counter him now instead of playing out the matchup. For example people would rather pick Quinn, Vayne or Wukong over Morde, sylas and yousu in the toplane comparably, even if these are comfort picks. For the first time in over a Year Darius has a negative wineate in Diamond+ EUW at 49% with a ban rate of 35%. I think if people just played out matchups this would be even lower! Lets hope these ghost buffs do the job in Patch 10.14.
1. Ghost changes are really nice to see, lets hope they push darius back into the +50% win-rate!!
2. Riven might be played more so take that into consideration.
3.Boring patch other than that for Darius.
1.The Jax matchup much harder as the window to punish Jax is now even smaller the 14 seconds CD on E means he has a 10 second window over your E usage and this gives him extra time to go in for aggressive trades.
2.Fiora is similar with her Q buff as she can use it more often and go for poke trades more in lane!
Nimbus Cloak got nerfed a bit but i feel like it is still the best choice for Darius just due to the mobility! but if you are struggling you can go bone plating and unflinching or even second wind.
3.Akalie will be more of a problem but she is easy to deal with once you know how!
4.The rest of the ADC buffs were necessary for them, its just if we see them in toplane it could be a slight issue.
5.When Yone gets released i feel like he wont be that much of a problem for a good Darius as you can bait his cool-downs and force out longer trades.
The bot lane is the main target of Patch 10.17!
1. Aatrox has been buffed but i don't think this will make him too much more effective into a decent Darius if you play the matchup well enough.
2. You can actually gap close Cait a bit easier now!
3. Still ban Eve in low to mid elo!
4. Kai is going to be played a bit more but i still feel like Cait is overall stronger in the botlane.

1. Darius ban rate is acceptable now in high Elo!
2. I feel like nimbus might be swapped out for resolve very soon!
3. Still OP with ghost and not a champion without it, way too reliant on sums which i feel hinders his overall performance.
4. been playing a lot better this patch with him. Maybe due to indirect nerfs on other champions this patch.
5. Sona Lux lane gets slightly nerfed which is nice for High elo!
6. Yone nerf does nothing against Darius. Easy before, even easier now.
1. Ashe nerfs are nice for Darius this patch, she won't be picked as often.
2. kayle adjust makes her slightly stronger in the Top lane, she will be able to trade for longer in lane with less resources.
3. Sett nerfs again benefit Darius in this matchup. You can buy an phage without the need to feel scared of his Q dmg now.
4. Shen nerfs are really nice for Darius. His shield is -10 at all levels.
5. Xin might be cheese picked possibly, his W change makes his trading very nice at early levels.
1. Samira is coming....
2. Akalie Q damage nerfed by 5 at all levels, this reduces her wave-clear especially early but she can still 1 shot you if they play the matchup poorly and don't respect her at level 6.
3. Aphelios is a champion again be cautious.
4. Irelia R has been buffed be careful of the small added burst it gives her especially at late game. However the laning phases doesn't change at all.
5. Lucian nerfs do nothing and he will still be played top and mid into most melee matchups.
6. Sivir makes a return, this could be an issue as she can speed up the entire enemy team if you look to hard engage with Ghost.
7. Vayne buffs are not a problem if you perma ban her every game.
DARIUS E NERF - COOLDOWN 24/21/18/15/12 seconds ⇒ 26/24/22/20/18 seconds

This makes it harder to all in opponents a lot of the time, this means that you will have to take less risky trades and punished mistakes better!
