Rune Keystones
Gwen is still a new champion so keep in mind many things are open to be changed/buff/nerfed in her kit, runes and items that she will be using.

I believe I'm a valid source to learn her from being a Grandmaster Top Laner who has played a very unhealthy amount of league sense Gwen's release lol. I'm Mastery lvl 7 on Gwen already.

Gwen has one main keystone that I don't think will change due to how her kit works and scales which is Conqueror. This allows Gwen to stack up damage while getting her abilities/autoattacks off and giving her Healing at full stacks!

Gwen's Snip Snip! only gives 2 Stacks of Conqueror even if you have full stacks. Thus the main way Gwen stacks Conqueror is to abuse the Auto Attack Reset and Attack Speed from Skip 'n Slash and your Ultimate Needlework!
Rune Choices
All Possible Runes

Precision

: I personally believe that Corrupting Potion is all you need for mana sustain on this Gwen. Taking Presence of Mind will make you pass up Triumph which I believe is much better. You can play around with this rune and see if you like it.

: I think Triumph is the better choice for this Precision Tree Slot. The Heal you get from Triumph can save you from things like a Tower Shot, Darius Hemorrhage, Teemo Toxic Shot and more in Laning Phase. It can also save you in Teamfights Mid/Late game due to Gwen being a Excellent Teamfighter you want the most Bang for your Buck!

: Definitely the best pick for most situations in the Second Row. This will give you more Attack Speed so you can get more Auto Attacks off in the 4 seconds that your Skip 'n Slash and also stack your Snip Snip! much faster!

: Tenacity is always an option vs teams with a lot of Crowd Control , Gwen is a high mobility champion that needs to weave in auto attacks and spam Skip 'n Slash to get her best damage off, thus Legend: Tenacity can be more useful than Legend: Alacrity in these cases.

: Personal Preference for last row.
: Personal Preference for last row.

Sorcery

This Rune page isnt as strong on Gwen as others so I wouldn't recommend but IF you do here is what I'd take.

: ALWAYS BRING if going Ignite otherwise don't bring it.

: Not too bad if you really have issues with Gwen's mana pool. You should be fine with the mana sustain from Corrupting Potion itself but not everyone is as conservative so this could be an option.

: This can be very good into heavy Ability Power teams. Usually not worth taking unless your enemy laner AND jungler are both AP champs.

: Could be good for your Hallowed Mist Cool down but is kind of useless for Snip Snip! and Skip 'n Slash due to them having already extremely low cooldowns. Still better than its competitors in this tree.

: The Rune I always wish I had if the game drags on for more than 30 minutes. The AP it will give Gwen late game is very strong. But due to going Sorcery as your 2nd rune page you will have a rough laning phase so late game might just be a dream.

Domination

: Some extra sustain here and there never hurts but with the range in Gwen's kit it might be too close for comfort in some cases to proc it consistently.

: This can give you extra Magic Penetration to cut down your enemies after casting Skip 'n Slash but after the 5 seconds its active it will go on cooldown for 4 seconds so your Skip 'n Slash wont be able to proc it for awhile after.

: This could be nice for your Needlework Cooldown but id take Ravenous Hunter instead due to it putting even more healing in your kit paired with your passive Thousand Cuts.

Resolve

: A Great Pick in the Resolve Tree for most cases but due to Gwen only going Resolve into hard lane matchups you wont be hitting the enemy tower much early, you should use the more defensive runes instead.

: Amazing rune overall. Helps vs heavy poke laners such as Jayce and paired with Doran's Shield and Revitalize you can heal a ton in lane.

: It's pretty good vs champs that do a TON of damage at once like Pantheon or Renekton due to it blocking damage on 3 separate attacks rather than just a tiny heal from Second Wind.

: Pairs very well with Second Wind as mentioned above as well as working with Gwen's passive Thousand Cuts. A good Rule of Thumb is take either Second Wind with Revitalize OR Bone Plating with Overgrowth due to them working best with eachother.
Build Options

Riftmaker the overall best Mythic on Gwen! the Omnivamp gives her more healing on top of her Thousand Cuts, very good damage, 300 Health AND 15 Haste . Everything I just listed is every stat that Gwen wants which makes this pair well with other Legendary Items.

Nashor's Tooth is the item that makes Gwen's Skip 'n Slash feel complete! The Attack Speed and On-Hit Magic Damage just stacks on top of Skip 'n Slash's Damage/Attack Speed increase making it hit VERY hard. The 100 Ability Power is also huge for her overall damage output on her Snip Snip!!

ThornMail Huh? A tank item in an AP Hyper Carry Guide??? Yessir! Gwen at the end of the day is a Top Laner which means you have to be introduced to the most annoying unfair unfun anti-bruiser item in the game! Bramble Vest! Champions such as Fiora, Irelia, Jax, Wukong and many more HATE this item which is why were gonna build it :)

(I would know I'm a Fiora OTP that's turning into a Gwen Fiora 2 Trick XD)

You sit on Bramble Vest as a first recall item into these specific matchups while you build normal AP items after it. Later in the game you can decide to Upgrade it into Thornmail or swap it out for Morellonomicon!

Zhonya's Hourglass is yet another Armor+AP item which is strong due to most top laners having their damage come from Attack Damage! I would never recommend building this as a first item because its stats are way weaker than other items BUT mid game this is an INSANE Teamfighting Item that can make or break a fight!

Demonic Embrace is Riftmaker's less attractive less popular twin brother! This item combos with Riftmaker Insanely well making it a really good 3rd item for Gwen after your 2nd item which would be Nashor's Tooth!

You can build Demonic Embrace anytime in your build, if you need Zhonya's Hourglass or Banshee's Veil before it then thats fine.

Lich Bane is a super strong AP item that works on champs that are similar to Gwen such as Diana BUT I think this is more of a late game item for Gwen Specifically because it gives her no extra Health which you need VS scary top lane champions. I tend to want a Demonic Embrace or Cosmic Drive more for Mid-Game!

Cosmic Drive is a great item for mid game on Gwen due to it giving major movement speed and haste to her kit making her much more Slippery/Hard to Catch while also letting her keep up and make sure she gets all 3 Parts of Needlework off!

Banshee's Veil is a fantastic counter item to champions that want to catch Gwen out with a single ability like Malzahar's Nether Grasp or Blitzcrank's Rocket Grab! This will make it so you can't be flashed on and instantly picked off!

NA needs this item or we won't make it out of groups at worlds KEKW
How to Play Gwen
Gwen has a playstyle that is pretty unique but ISN'T limited to team-play options like Champs such as Fiora. Like I've said throughout this guide she is an INSANE Teamfighter due to her huge AOE (Area of Effect) Damage on Snip Snip! and most importantly on Needlework!

But! Dont be fooled, Gwen can Definitely hold her own in a Split-Push if needed!

Early Game

Early Game is suppose to be where Gwen SUFFERS because Riot wants to make her a "Late Game Nightmare" like Kassadin and Kayle. But with the Corruption Potion Starting Item along with the Inspiration runes you can contest even the scariest of top laners like Darius and Fiora for example.

Level 1:

Starting E is my favorite thing to do because it makes your auto range so long while also giving an Auto Attack Reset so the enemy has to respect you. You are a pretty strong champion level 1.

Level 2:

Play a bit safer till level 3.

Level 3:

You are pretty strong now. Trades are possible now that you have your Hallowed Mist that gives you Armor and Magic Resist.

Level 6:

You have REALLY strong 1v1 now. You should be able to 1v1 bruisers now as long as you have Bramble Vest and Corrupting Potion. If you're vs Tanks you should go for Blasting Wand or Leeching Leer if you can afford it. If you're vs ranged just build for Nashor's Tooth first item along with boots to help keep up with them.

Mid/Late

Play with your team for objectives that will win you the game. Try to clear side lanes when you can without getting too far from your team (unless you have Teleport)

You can 1v1 at this stage vs most champs but why risk that when Teamfights is what you want. You should only Prioritize Split-Pushing if you're forced into it because the enemy has a champion that is only in side lanes pushing towers.

Teamfighting:

Now here is the 1v9 part! Keep in mind you are a fairly squishy champion still despite you having extra Health and Resistances from your Items and Hallowed Mist. You Don't want to be the one to start a fight. Leave that up to an engage champion on your team like Nautilus with his Dredge Line or Leona's Solar Flare.

You want to be in the front line after the fight starts! You have huge damage output with your Snip Snip! and your Skip 'n Slash Auto Attacks that can cut through the enemy's frontline! Keep in mind during all this the enemy Backline (ADC's and Mages) are unable to attack you due to Hallowed Mist lasting 5 seconds, which is plenty of time for you to throw all 3 of your Needlework shots at the backline to chunk their Health due to you getting instant Resets being melee range with the front line!

Every wall Gwen can dash through on Summoners Rift!
