[13.10] Diana Jungle Guide Becoming "The Scorn of the Moon"

By FaeBytez
Welcome to my First Guide on Diana jungle for Patch 13.9! Diana is a powerful AP bruiser who can deal significant damage while also providing some utility and survivability to her team. In this guide, I will be covering everything you need to know to play Diana effectively in the jungle . I've been playing Diana since early 2013 and hope that i can share my knowledge to some of you :D
Pros and Cons
- High burst damage
- Good crowd control
- Strong ganker
- Ability to clear camps quickly with passive and W
- Strong duelist
- Can easily snowball and carry games

- No reliable escape tool
- Mana hungry early game
- Reliant on hitting to engage fights
- Weak against hard CC and kiting
Choosing the right runes is crucial for any champion, and Diana is no exception. As a jungler , you want to make sure you have the sustain and damage needed to clear camps efficiently while also having the utility to gank successfully. Here are my recommended runes for Diana jungle :

is my go-to keystone for Diana in the jungle . It provides bonus AD and AP based on the damage dealt to champions, and after reaching full stacks, your basic attacks and abilities heal you for a portion of the damage dealt.

For secondary runes, I recommend taking for additional healing on takedowns and for extra Attack Speed to clear camps faster.

For your last minor rune, you have a few options. can be great for securing kills, can be useful if you often find yourself low on health in fights, and can be effective against tanky teams.

For your secondary tree, can be a good option for added burst and snowball with and . Alternatively, can provide added tankiness with and but with and for added CDR and increased movement speed is also a really strong option. It ultimately comes down to your playstyle and team composition.
Chapter 1: Early Game
As a jungler , your primary goal in the early game is to clear your jungle camps efficiently while also looking for opportunities to gank and put pressure on the enemy laners. Diana has decent clear speed thanks to her passive and her W , which can help her sustain through the jungle .

At level 3, Diana gains access to all of her abilities and becomes a strong ganker. Her Q can be used to initiate ganks and land poke damage, while her E can be used to gap close and secure kills. When ganking, try to coordinate with your laner and make sure you are both on the same page before engaging. A successful gank can put your team ahead and give you an advantage going into the mid game

Additionally, it's important to keep an eye on the enemy jungler and their movements. Warding key areas of the jungle can help you track their movements and prevent them from ganking successfully. Remember that Diana is vulnerable to early game invades, so be cautious when moving around the jungle and try to avoid taking unnecessary risks.

Overall, in the early game, focus on efficient jungle clear, successful ganks, and tracking the enemy jungler to gain an advantage for your team.
Chapter 2: Teamfights
As a jungler , your primary objective is to control the map and help your team secure objectives. Diana excels in teamfights and can be a game-changer with her ability to burst down multiple enemies at once. When it comes to teamfights, it's important to position yourself properly and choose your targets wisely.

Your first priority should be to identify the enemy team's biggest threat and focus them down quickly. In most cases, this will be the enemy ADC or mid laner. Diana's ultimate , can be a great tool to isolate and pick off these key targets. Use it to pull them towards your team, then follow up with your Q , to slow them down and your E , to deal massive damage.

When engaging in teamfights, try to flank the enemy team from the side or behind. This will make it harder for them to focus you down and allow you to get your abilities off without being interrupted. You can also use your W ,to absorb some damage and stay alive longer.
Chapter 3: Decision Making
As a jungler , one of the most important aspects of playing Diana is decision making. You need to be able to quickly assess situations and decide what the best course of action is. This can be the difference between a successful gank or a failed one, a successful objective or a lost one, and ultimately, a win or a loss.

There are a few key things to keep in mind when making decisions as a Diana jungle player:

1. Map Awareness: Always be aware of what's happening on the map. Keep an eye on your lanes and the enemy jungler . This will help you anticipate gank opportunities, potential counter-jungling, and objective control.

2. Team Composition: Consider your team's composition when making decisions. Are you playing with a strong early game or a strong late game? Do you have good engage or good peel? This will help you determine when to fight, when to push objectives, and when to play defensively.

3. Objective Control: As the jungler , you have a lot of influence over objective control. Keep track of the spawn timers for Dragon , Rift Herald , and Baron Nashor . Make sure to communicate with your team and prioritize objectives based on the current game state.

4. Ganking: When deciding when and where to gank, there are a few things to consider. First, look at the lanes and see which ones are pushing or being pushed. Second, look at the enemy laner's summoner spells and ultimates to determine if they have any escape options. Third, try to coordinate with your laners to ensure a successful gank.

5. Vision Control: Vision is critical for decision making as a jungler . Make sure to ward key areas, such as Dragon and Baron pit, river entrances, and enemy jungle camps. This will help you track the enemy jungler and make informed decisions.

By keeping these factors in mind and making quick and informed decisions, you'll be able to maximize Diana's potential as a jungle champion and help lead your team to victory.
Chapter 4: Pushing a Lead
One of the strengths of Diana is her ability to snowball games. Once you get ahead, you can become a menace to the enemy team and carry your team to victory. Here are some tips on how to push your lead:

1. Invade the enemy jungle :
As a jungler , you have the advantage of being able to move around the map freely. Use this to your advantage and invade the enemy jungle when you have a lead. This will deny the enemy jungler resources and make it harder for them to catch up.

2. Focus on objectives:
As Diana, you are great at taking down objectives quickly with your passive and high burst damage. Use this to your advantage and focus on taking down objectives such as Dragon , Rift Herald , and Baron . This will give your team a significant advantage and make it easier to close out games.

3. Gank aggressively:
With your high damage and gap-closing abilities, you are a great ganker. When you have a lead, use this to your advantage and gank aggressively. Look for opportunities to catch the enemy team off guard and take advantage of your superior strength.

4. Keep up your farm:
Even when you have a lead, it's important to keep up your farm to maintain your advantage. This will ensure that you stay ahead of the enemy team and continue to scale into the late game.

Remember, pushing your lead requires careful decision making and good communication with your team. Always be aware of the state of the game and make strategic decisions based on what will give your team the best chance of winning.
Chapter 5: Farming
As a jungler , farming efficiently is crucial for keeping up in gold and experience, and Diana is no exception. With her passive , and her AoE abilities, Diana is able to clear camps quickly and effectively.

Start with your raptors into red buff into krugs into Recall to get Dark Seal, Dark Seal is crucial to maximaize your early and late game power spike by farming stacks early on.

Once you hit level 3, you can look for gank opportunities or continue farming. Keep an eye on your passive and use your spells strategically to trigger it for additional damage and Attack Speed.

It's important to keep a balance between farming and ganking. You don't want to neglect either, as ganking can help you secure kills and objectives while farming keeps you ahead in gold and experience.

As Diana, you have the potential to clear camps quickly, so make use of this to clear your own jungle and possibly invade the enemy's jungle . However, always be aware of the enemy jungler 's position and the state of the lanes before attempting to invade.

With efficient farming, you can reach your power spikes faster and become a force to be reckoned with in team fights. Don't neglect your farm and always aim to clear your jungle efficiently.
Chapter 6: Playing from Behind
Sometimes, despite your best efforts, things don't go as planned and you find yourself falling behind in the game. As Diana, it's important to know how to play from behind to prevent the enemy team from snowballing the game.

First, it's important to focus on farming efficiently and safely. Make sure to clear your jungle camps as soon as they spawn and look for opportunities to take enemy camps if possible. However, be aware of the enemy team's vision and potential threats. If you're not sure where the enemy team is, it's better to play it safe and stick to farming in your own jungle.

Second, try to avoid fights unless they're necessary. Diana is a champion that needs some items and levels to be effective, so fighting when you're behind can be risky. Instead, focus on soaking up experience and gold from waves and jungle camps. You can also try to assist your team by providing vision with your Q or setting up kills with your ultimate when it's safe to do so.

Third, communicate with your team and ask for help if you need it. Diana can be vulnerable when caught out alone, so it's important to have backup from your teammates. You can also coordinate with your team to set up picks or objectives to get back into the game.

Finally, keep a positive attitude and don't give up. Even if you're behind, there's always a chance to turn the game around. Focus on making small improvements and taking advantage of any opportunities that come your way. Remember, every little bit helps and with some persistence, you can still come out on top.
Chapter 7: Vision
As a jungler , vision control is an essential aspect of your gameplay, and it can make a big difference in your team's success. It allows you to track the enemy jungler , spot potential ganks, and secure objectives.

First and foremost, always prioritize buying a Control Ward on your early backs. They provide valuable vision, clear out enemy wards, and deny the enemy team information about your movements. Place them in strategic locations such as river bushes, around objectives, or in the enemy jungle to give you and your team an advantage.

Additionally, make sure to upgrade your Oracle Lens after completing your first jungle item. This item allows you to sweep for enemy wards and clear them out, giving you the upper hand in terms of vision. Use it before ganking or taking objectives to ensure that the enemy team has no vision of your movements.

Remember, vision is a team effort, so communicate with your teammates and encourage them to buy control wards as well. Together, you can control the map and increase your chances of winning the game.
Thank you for taking the time to read my Diana jungle guide. I hope that you have found the information and strategies presented in this guide useful and informative.

As with any champion, Diana's strength in the jungle relies heavily on player skill and game knowledge. By understanding her abilities, strengths, and weaknesses, as well as utilizing effective pathing, ganking, and objective control, you can become a formidable force on the Rift.
