Introduction
Hi guys, my name is Adam and today I'll be taking you through how to become a BEAST with Akali. Akali is one of those champions that people tend to forget about as she isn't played much on the pro scene, however, her insane burst and sustain off her passive make her a force to be reckoned with! |
I have one tricked Akali for about three seasons now, starting in bronze and working my way up to platinum, in which I am still climbing :P I was ranked top 10 Akali in OCE before I decided to take a super long break and am now working my way up to rank #1 in OCE before setting my sights on becoming the #1 ranked Akali in the world. |
Anyway enjoy the guide!
Pros
+ Has EVERYTHING you want in an assassin + INSANE BURST + Massive sustain due to her passive Twin Disciplines + Can go invisible and blink using her Twilight Shroud + High mobility with the ability to stick onto any champion very easily using Shadow Dance + Great split pushing power with the second part of Twin Disciplines |
Cons
- Semi-weak early game - Heavily reliant on Hextech Gunblade to powerspike - Can be bullied by range very easily early - Hard to come back if she is behind - Champs with point and click CC such as Annie can demolish her in lane |
Twin Disciplines (Passive)
Akali's first two attacks are empowered. The first strike heals her, and the second strike deals bonus magic damage. Twin Disciplines will recharge itself automatically a short while after being used.
Mark of the Assassin (Q)
Akali spins her kama at a target enemy to deal Magic Damage and mark the target for 6 seconds. Akali's melee attacks against a marked target will trigger and consume the mark to cause additional damage and restore Energy.
Akali throws her kama at a target enemy to deal 35/55/75/95/115 (+40% Ability Power) magic damage and mark the target for 6 seconds.Akali's melee attacks against a marked target will consume the mark to deal 45/70/95/120/145 (+50% Ability Power) magic damage and restore 40 energy.
Twilight Shroud (W)
Akali teleports to a nearby location, leaving a cover of smoke at her previous location. While inside the shroud, Akali becomes Invisible and gains Movement Speed. Attacking or using abilities will briefly reveal her. Enemies inside the smoke have their Movement Speed reduced.

Stealth - Invisible: Akali can only be revealed by nearby enemy Turrets.
Crescent Slash (E)
Akali flourishes her kamas, dealing damage based on her bonus Attack Damage and Ability Power. When Crescent Slash kills a unit, it has a shorter cooldown.

Flash: is always going to be running on Akali. Combined with her Twilight Shroud this enables a lot of distance to be covered in a short amount of time, giving you the advantage of surprising laners that think they're far enough to not get bursted. |
Ignite: I always run ignite as it provides that extra little bit of damage that you will need to finish the champion off. Also for a lot of AD champs, it will stop their life steal from autos and give you the upper hand. |
Exhaust: This is super, super rare to ever be used for Akali however, if you are unsure about laning phase and want the extra ability to survive in lane or to engage even harder, then feel free to take exhaust! |
Ok, now we've got your spells and runes set! However, the most important aspect of any champ is how you play the lane! So i'll take you through some of the most common match ups, how to deal with them and some of the combos I use. (NOTE: I will be uploading more match ups as I complete commentaries on them)
