How To Pick Up & Play Kayle!

Introduction:

Hello everyone, I like to play now that she got reworked. I have the honor to showcase this game on the North American Region!! My name is ChaseMorePlz on NA, today I will be teaching you all how to play Kayle, pick her up or eventually main her. I myself use her as a pocket pick in Ranked for a well-deserved LP gain. On my YouTube channel I demonstrate my learning phase and how to scale into a complete monster, the key is farming well and laning. This guide will show how to do just that throughout League of Legends Season 9:

This guide will soon include Top Lane Build Paths for the variety of matchups that I have! Be sure to show support for my next few tutorials if you think they earned it and I would like to see more. All of Kayle's matchups aren't all here yet because the majority are counter matchups so they will be when I can actually lock in Kayle.

Early Game

First, you want to identify the enemy team composition in order to decide what items you will need vs them (defensive wise, boot enchantment, etc.), also keep in mind of your team comp as well when picking . A great team comp for Kayle is one she can synergize well with in order to make good picks. Top Laners can easily counter you when they get that early so try and play smart, as well as safely. Someone she can splitpush against is something else you need to be mindful of after rushing your core items!

Rush Your Core Items

Nashor's Tooth

80 Ability Power, Attack Speed and 10% CDR.
This item is easy to build and it gives Kayle some essential stats. Can't really go wrong with it, you can snowball especially hard if you pick it up early.

Hextech Gunblade

+80 AP and 40+ AD, More Unique Passive effects and great for a second item pickup in the game.
This as a second item is a pretty big power spike along with or .

Lich Bane

+80 More AP, 10% CDR & 7% MoveSpeed. Sheen proc great for taking towers.
You should look to splitpush when you complete this especially because of the proc's extra damage to towers.

Rushing these three items along with will give you very high splitpushing potential if you farm well. When you get all three, and if you can get them smoothly you are passing the beginning stages of Kayle. The damage you output will be significant depending on your next items, early game is the harder part in my opinion to play since she's a bit weak early on.

What I Aim to do towards Mid Game

You need to focus heavily on getting to your next items, a lot of gold is required. You should now be in a spot in which you can hold your own vs. most opponents, specifically speaking of 1v1 scenarios. If not be sure to splitpush and not get caught while your team can get other objectives around the map while they chase you.

Next Item Options to Pick Up:

Rylai's Crystal Scepter

75 AP, 300 HP + amazing slow! Makes up for the fewer points in Q.
Great item on Kayle, good against most matchups and helps you kite well.

Void Staff

80 Additional AP, Grab this vs. Heavy MR.
If you need extra Magic Penetration then this is the item you need to pick up, especially vs tanks.

After grabbing these items, it's best to grab some defensive choices such as if you're against a lot of AP matchups or if you're having a tough time staying alive.

Late Game

Go for towers, keep your up and try to drive a lot of people to you (preferably bot lane) and try and pick up big objectives such as Baron and inhibitor towers. Avoiding death makes the game 1000 times easier on you.

Summary

It generally takes a while to get your items & scale with Kayle. She is an amazing splitpusher and destroys towers with only a few items, decent waveclear mid game. Maxing second is great because of the extra sustain and movespeed buff, movespeed very comparable to an Udyr bear stance.
