Akali is a great person for a 1v1 battle sometimes , it depends on who the
character she is going against.Akali is an assasin and can escape quickly,But sadly she is not like
Lee sin.She can't dash to teamates,teamate mininos,and only can escape on enemies,monsters,and enemy minoins.He combos are beast and once she is fed,she is pretty much unstoppable.Her juking is awesome and it is great.

Twin Disciplines:Upon obtaining 20 ability power,Akali's hits deal 8% bonus magic damage,increasing by 1% of every 6 ability power gaining thereafter.(Magic damage doesn't affect towers,but affects other structures.) Upon obtaining 10 attack damage , Akali gains 8% spell vamp,increasing by an additional 1% for every 6 attack damage gained thereafter.
Mark of the assasin - Akali spins her kama at a target to deal 45/70/95/120/145(+40% of ability power) magic damage and mark the target for 6 seconds.Akali's melee attack against a marked target will consume the mark to cause 45/70/95/120/145(+40% of ability power) magic damage and restore 20/25/30/35/40 energy.

Twilight shroud - Akali throws down a cover of smoke that lasts for 8 seconds.While inside the area,Akali gains 10/20/30/40/50 armor and magic resist and becomes stealthed.Attacking or using abilites will breifly reveal her for 0.5 seconds.
Enemies inside the smoke have their movement speed reduced by 14/18/22/26/30 %.

Crescent slash - Akali flourishes her kamas,hitting nearby units for 30/55/80/105/130 physical damage (+30% of ability power) + 60% attack damage and acivating Mark of assasin's secondary damage.

Shadow dance - Akali moves through the shadows to quickly deal 100/175/250(+50% of ability power) magic damage to the target and appear next to it.
Akali gains essence of shadow every 25/20/15 up to a total of 3,affected by cooldown reduction.THe time to gain a charge doesn't count when at maximum charges.Additionaly,Akali gains and essence of shadow for a kill or an assist.

Creeeping: Akali is a great creeper throught the jungle.She has stealth skills and that makes it better for her to creep.Her Twilight shroud helps her around the jungle to make it easy.The buff she mostly needs is the blue one because it helps by restoring energy,regeneration,and the cooldown reduction.The red buff is also usefull but I would recommend getting both.

Farming for Akali is a really really good thing for her.Her Q(Mark of the assasin) can be really great for last hits.It restores the energy and it is very usefull for farming on enemy units.Farming is the most intelligent thing for every champion , mostly for the AD Carries.

My summary for akali is that she is a good escaper and a good farmer.She can escape easily and is can be stealth by Twilight shroud.It helps to get away from other people and can be usefull for jukes.One mistake for akali,your screwed.
