Introduction

With this guide, you'll learn to be a bursty, speedy Akali with a fair amount of flexibility. While for more experienced league players this guide might not be very helpful, for a newer player or someone just picking up Akali, this guide should be useful in getting you started and learning the ropes of the champion. This is also my first guide so please, if you're more experienced and you see any mistakes, please, don't be afraid to let me know so that I can make any possible future guides even better.

Playstyle

With this guide, you'll want to jump in and out of team fights when your abilities are up. You'll want to try and kill high priority targets like Lux, Zyra, Miss Fortune, and other adc champions or champions with high cc that can control team fights. You are still an assassin and you are very squishy so remember not to jump into situations you may not be able to handle otherwise you'll end up feeding and losing stacks on your Dark seal/Mejai's soulstealer.

Abilities

Passive-Akali's passive is where around a third of her damage comes from. When you hit an enemy with any of Akali's damaging abilities, a ring will show up centered on the enemy. When Akali walks through the ring, she will gain a brief boost of speed while running towards and enemy, her attack range for the next basic attack will become much more generous, and her next basic attack's damage will be much higher. Late game, this ability will annihilate squishies and anyone who's decided to build health over armor.

Q-Akali's kunai are an extremely useful tool in exterminating your enemy and resisting poke damage. The kunai, when used while near full energy, will heal Akali for a very fair amount. Akali's kunai also do extremely high damage and will also briefly slow enemies that are hit by the tip of the cone. This ability will be Akali's most used ability due to it's high damage and low cooldown.

W-This will probably be Akali's most clutch ability, despite how simple it is. This ability will shroud Akali in smoke while she's in it, making her untargetable by all enemies. Be careful, however, because Akali's smoke bomb will NOT make her invulnerable to skillshots and she CAN still die while in the smoke. When you throw down the smoke bomb, Akali will regain some of her energy which can allow you to jump over a wall with her E or even to finish off an enemy with her Q.

E-This ability will allow Akali to close the gap on enemies by throwing a shuriken after a backflip, when Akali recasts the ability, she will quickly dash to the first enemy hit by the shuriken. The backflip can even be used to jump over a wall to escape an enemy! If you miss an enemy with the E but it travels through the smoke bomb, you will be able to recall to the last point the shuriken was in the smoke which can be good for escaping an enemy or closing gaps. This ability will also give Akali a free hit with the passive, causing massive damage and allowing you to combo her Q and get another passive basic attack, causing even more damage! (Phil swift would approve.)

R-This is by far Akali's most deadly ability, it will allow Akali to do two dashes, the first will dash through enemies and stun them for .5 seconds which can be used to interrupt a channel or stall so that teammates can either catch the enemy or run away while also dealing damage based on your physical damage. The second dash in Akali's ultimate will do high damage that scales with the enemies current health, doing more damage the lower their health is, this damage is based on AP. The two dashes have a short cooldown between them and while it isn't long, it can be extremely deadly if you don't have the smoke bomb up. You can also use this ability to leap over walls and escape an enemy.
