Spells:
Ghost
Flash
Ability Order
Cursed Touch (PASSIVE)
Amumu Passive Ability
Edit
- Team work
- Skills explanation
- Skill order
Pros:
-
Early game and mid game, able to get easy ganks
Can withstand a fair bit of damage in team fights
Able to initiate like a boss
-
Squishy at early game (don't play Amumu like a tank till you're confident you won't get burned down to the ground)
No longer able to completely steam roll some champions late game
Summoner Spells really depend on your playstyle but my favourite for Amumu with this build is
Ghost and
Flash.
Ghost is good for chasing and escaping your enemies. A quick boost in movement speed is always nice.
Flash is also good for chasing and escaping. You can use flash to jump over a wall or perhaps you are just out of range for bandage toss so you flash to close the gap.
Although these are my favourite choices there are other good ones.
Ignite, Exhaust, Cleanse and Teleport are possible choices.
Ignite Ignite to secure kills or lessen the effect of an incoming heal. Nice summoner to use to counter a champion like Mundo or Swain.
Exhaust Exhaust can help for chasing, escaping or a 1v1 when against an AD (attack damage) champion like Caitlyn, Tryndamere and Ashe ect.
Cleanse Cleanse is always a nice summoner spell to have on any tanky champion, especially when Amumu can use his Bandage Toss to initiate team fights. The last thing you want is to be completely shutdown when you do that.
Teleport Teleport is a very good summoner spell which you can use to quickly get across the map to a fight or the backdoor a tower or to save one of your own.
I do not recommend using other summoner abilities unless of course you want to play revive rally Amumu so you can feed your opponents while blaming lag.
Please note that if you do not use the recommended summoners that your masteries should be changing with them.

For masteries, a basic 9/0/21 has been selected.
I've put points in Haste and Blink of an Eye to improve summoner spells.
I always prefer to use Good Hands over Perseverance. No, this does not mean I'm planning on dieing but that extra couple of seconds can often be the difference between keeping or losing a tower.
I definitely recommend putting points in Meditation for mana regeneration and putting points in Utility Mastery so your blue buffs can last much longer.
That basically covers the most important parts of the 21 points in utility but the 9 points in Offense is also essential.
Archmage's Savy is of course chosen over crit chance and the other points are for summoner spells you wont be using.
Sorcery is chosen for more CDR and to open up the way to Archaic Knowledge to further increase magic penetration, which will of course maximise your damage output.

Marks
For marks, I chose to grab magic penetration to maximise damage through out the entire game.
Seals
Greater Seal of ReplenishmentFor seals, I grabbed some flat mana regeneration seals. This will help to keep your mana up especially when in lane. Throughout the game be sure that you try to grab blue buff as often as you can. Unlimited Despair is always nice : )
Glyphs
For glyphs, I decided to grab some CDR glyphs. This is so you can spam Tantrum a bit more but of course this will be beneficial to all your skills.
Quintessence
For quintessences, I picked up some more magic penetration, just like the marks.

Note that the item build will always depend against the enemy team composition. However, the following build is one example of vsing your general team compisition.
Core Item list:
Sorcerer's Shoes/
Mercury's Treads
Rod of Ages
Rylai's Crystal Scepter
Offensive:
Sorcerer's Shoes Sorcerer's Shoes - Nice boost of Magic Penetration early game.
Rod of Ages Rod of Ages - Rod of Ages brings so many things Amumu needs in one nice package. Good boost to Health, AP and mana. In addition, the passive is very helpful when farming in a lane.
Rylai's Crystal Scepter Rylai's Crystal Scepter - This is a great item for Amumu. Once again we have a nice boost to health, AP and mana but we now also gain a slow. You will be getting this item around about midgame. Ganking and teamfights will likely to have begun at this point and you have the potential of stopping anyone from escaping you or your team. With this item's passive you will be applying a slow very often due to despair, not to mention your ultimate will too provide a slowing effect.
I recommend picking up these 3 items in every match, the rest completely depend on the enemy team composition.
Defensive:
Force of Nature Force of Nature - I definitely recommend this item when up against lots of AP. However, the health regen and increased movement speed makes this item viable to almost any team.
Thornmail Thornmail - I definitely recommend this item when up against lots of AD. The boost in armor and passive can shut down annoying champions like Tryndamere, Master Yi or Caitlyn. Even if the only AD they have in the other team is someone like Tryndamere or Gangplank, I would still recommend you pick up thornmail but I wouldn't put it as high in the priority list.
Abyssal Mask Abyssal Scepter - This item can be swapped and changed to whatever you prefer. However, I quite like this item as it increases my magic resistance late game, usefull against champions like Malzahar, aswell as further increasing my damage output which at end game, is a bit lacking.
Other possible items:
Sunfire Aegis Sunfire Cape is one possible item you may like to pick up. This item will make you a little more tanky as well as further increase your damage output via it's passive.
Guardian Angel Guardian Angel is another good choice. It'll increase your defences as well as a passive that can potentially save you from a death.
Quicksilver Sash Quicksilver Sash is another option when dealing with heavy CC teams. This is an item I do recommend if you are getting constantly shut down via CC. Of course you could also change your boots and get Mercury Treads if this is the case.
Although these are items that I like to use, every match you need to look at the enemy champions, and look at what they are building. If 4/5 are building AP (Ability Power) then you need to build items with magic resistance and not armor. If 3/5 are building AP then you will need both magic resistance and armor. Each match will likely change your last three items order or the item themselves. If their is a champion you do not know, ask your team! You should still be able to know if they are AP or AD by checking what items they are building.
