Champion Build Guide
As AP-Attackspeed Gnar you just wanna kill people. That is literally it. Kinda like a second adc. |
You have a good gapcloser with your Hop and amazing damage and kiting with Hyper. The slow of your Boomerang Throw can also help you go in and get an early Hyper proc. If you are in trouble, the heal from your passive Rage Gene can help you survive and you can get away or turn on them with your amazing CC abilities. |
Gnar is a ranged lane bully. This build additionally gives him insane damage and carry potential, which makes him very strong in lane.
You can play agressive as soon as you've had your first back and you have put some skill points into your Hyper/ Wallop. If they come too close to you, you can proc Hyper once and run after them doing insane damage. On firstback most players won't buy MR against you, because they don't expect the surprise AP-Gnar. |
If you happen to get ganked by the enemy jungler you can proc your Hyper and run away. Use the Boomerang Throw slow to your advantage and Hop away to safety. Gnar can run away pretty well, but he is also capable of 1v2ing. If you have high rage, try focusing one of them to proc Hyper on (but still run away). Then get 2 stacks and as soon as you are at 100 rage, you can AA once and immediately Wallop both of them. to get the big stun. If you have your Crunch up, use it to jump onto them, AA and GNAR! them against a nearby wall. This should give you an insane turnaround an a good chance to win the fight as soon as you come out of mega form. |
Your Mega Form is a bit tricky with this build. It is very strong, when used in the right situations, but useless if it's not.
Some rules (or sth) to keep in mind:
- Don't transform before a fight.
- Engaging with Transform- Crunch is dangerous but can be rewarding if you oneshot them.
- You can turn fights with a GNAR!-CC-burst-combo
- the transform heal can save you and turn 1v1s
Your Mega Gnar is very powerful if used correctly. It takes away your attack range and Hyper-damage and exchanges it for a **** ton of CC. It can turn fights with one GNAR! but make you useless if you use it too early. Play offensively, deal damage and use it as a surprise burst CC option or when you are in trouböe and make your team capitalize on the 2.5-3 second stun chain. When you return back to mini form, your'e gonna have an easy time catching the rest of their team. |
