This guide to Darius will hopefully help those people out there new to the champion. I'm no expert, but i really enjoy him and have found this build to be the most fun for normal pvp matches. I hope who ever uses this guide gains the knowledge and skills i have learned through experience, testing lots of different builds with Darius. As i go on i will try to explain why i chose some runes, masteries, and items opposed to other possibles.

First things first. Every champ needs some good masteries to back them up and happen to make a big difference throughout games. I personally chose the masteries suggested by the (champion spotlight "featuring Darius") on Youtube.com. The reason being I've found that selecting the MR (magic resist) and armor masteries/runes combined with the health masteries/items makes Darius very tanky early, mid, and late game. The flat damage reduction from minions helps to push/harass early game, nabbing those early kills thus feeding yourself for later game. Not to mention keeping them off the turrets when needed without taking to much damage in the process is a very nice extra factor. Now if you know Darius then you know he likes his armor pen, that should be all i need to say to explain the armor pen mastery in the offence masteries.

Items can vary depending on circumstances. Every match can have different enemy champs thus changing what items you need to counter or destroy the apposing team. The main idea of this information is to get users to use common since when it comes to building items, meaning for example. If you're fighting a high AD (Attack Damage) output team you might want to get a to counter their teams damage. Now for the varying items I choose.
The main item I would trade for others would be my Zeke's Herald, the items i would trade this for would vary between and
those being the most commonly swapped items others less likely, but preferential.

One more thing if you think it's necessary to swap two items, which unless circumstances insist I don't recommend, but the second item would be .
Also guys, if you're fighting a heavy AP (Ability Power) team get instead of .

Now finally runes. I chose the Armor from and Mr (Magic Resist) from runes to assist my masteries, giving me more durability. Along with the mobility from . Finally for that little bit of damage from the (Greater Mark of Strength) and to maximize at champion level 18 with . Bringing the some of my runes to really even out and give me a wide spread of Greatness.

As far as the style in which to play Darius i have very few pointers. The few i do have i will try to some up for you :).
1.) Try to get as many hits in with Decimate early game as possible.
2.) Wait until they either start running or if they're on an ally to use Apprehend.
3.) Try to get Crippling Strike on the target right after a Decimate or Apprehend and otherwise keep reapplying it.
4.) If you get fed and other team mates are having problems try to drop in and get a gank. Darius is very good at assisting surprise attacks when used a appropriately.

Just a couple more common since advice for game style. Like i said i don't have many tips or suggestions as of yet, but someday soon hopefully.
