Introduction

_

Nocturne is a great jungler with the abillity to tank big amounts of damage late game while dealing great damage. He has propably the best gank abillity Paranoia in game and he can force enemy laners burn their Flash to escape your Unspeakable Horror. If mastered can carry low elo games easily or destroy enemy's game and be a great help for your team.

It's my first guide so don't get cocky if things missing...

Pros / Cons

_

+ Fast Jungle Clear Speed
+ Great Ganker (Especially after lvl.6)
+ Best Gank Abillity Paranoia
+ Can Snowball Hard
+ Great Offtank Late-Game

- Need Items To Get Tanky
- Not Great or Reliable CC (Low Duration/Not-Instant Fear)
- Must Land Duskbringer For A More Successfull Gank
- No Escape Mechanics

Runes

.
This mix will give you a bit of everything to help you scale into the game. 9x Greater Mark of Attack Damage will make your hits hurt more (especially in early game) and help you clear jungle faster. 9x Greater Seal of Armor to make out of jungle without problem and also make enemy ADs hurt less. 9x Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist so you can tank a bit more Magic Damage in ganks and in teamfights. 3x Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed to roam through map faster and to chase down enemies. Also they give you more Speed to stay close your enemies while you land the Unspeakable Horror.

You can change Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed for Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage, Greater Quintessence of Armor Penetration or even Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed if you feel like MS isn't essential to you. (But I like MS)

Masteries

_
__

Starting with, I believe that 21/9/0 masteries are better for an offtank Nocturne. They help you put more damage on people you gank in early game and get more kills or assists, as well as, clearing jungle in high speed. Also, in late game Devastating Strikes provides you with Armor Penetration that help you kill faster the carries and hurt even the tanks. Butcher will help you clear even faster your jungle so it's a point well spent. Executioner though helps you finish enemies off and Frenzy grants you 5% attack speed for every critical strike you land with your TriForce (stack at 15%), which stacked with the passive of Shroud of Darkness and the buff from its active (if you time it well) gives you an overall of +85% to +95% attack speed for 3 secs (Not Bad...).
Now about Expose Weakness , I get it to help my teammates deal even more damage to enemies hit by my skills ( Duskbringer/ Unspeakable Horror/ Paranoia ). If you like, you can change this mastery for Double-Edged Sword .

Now about the Defence Tree, Enchanted Armor increase your resistances and make you tankier, Veteran Scars and Juggernaut gives you extra health and Tough Skin and [Bladed Armor]] makes your jungling even easier.

Items

_______________________________
Always buy Hunter's Machete, 5x Health Potion and Stealth Ward as the game starts.
Hunter's Machete gives 5 hp per hit on jungle monsters so it's really nice there and 5x Health Potion allows you to be fairly healthy throughout your route and it makes killing camps easier. Use your Stealth Ward to secure your red buff while you take it. In firt back you can sell it and buy a Sweeping Lens instead, to clear lanes from opponents' Wards and make sure that you can gank without being noticed.

Your two first items must be Spirit of the Ancient Golem and Phage. So rush them through farming or successfull ganks. I prefer Spirit of the Ancient Golem over Spirit of the Elder Lizard because that makes you tankier and balances the 21/9/0 masteries. Phage is a crucial item that not only gives you AD and Health but also helps you stay near your enemy when you land your Unspeakable Horror.

After these two are ready, you can either complete your Trinity Force or build Randuin's Omen. I suggest going with Randuin's Omen cause that will make you a lot tankier and you will last much longer in teamfights. Also its active will help your team in teamfights or help you catch someone or even get away from your chaser. The Trinity Force priority is suggested if your game going well and you can last long in teamfights already . In this case rush it and snowball even harder.

After these are ready, finish your build with a Blade of the Ruined King and a Spirit Visage. Same as before the order depends on what you need. You need to get tankier to survive the fights? Get Spirit Visage. You last long enough to kill everyone? Get Blade of the Ruined King.

SPACasdasdasdasdasdasdaasdassddadESPACE
Buy your Ninja Tabi whenever you feel like. I recommend to buy them after you finish your Phage as soon as you have 3x Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed that provides you enough Speed for your early game.

Remember to buy 1x Stealth Ward and about 2x Health Potion every time you recall. This will help you secure your jungle and keep you healthy and ready to fight.

Skill Sequence

Duskbringer is an extremely strong spell for Nocturne, it provides extra mobility, higher damage output, is a ranged nuke and will make and break ganks so it must be maxed first as it sets everything up. I like to max Unspeakable Horror second because the duration goes up as you max it and that gonna help your ganks turn out successfull. In addition, in a teamfight it's a good thing to jump on an enemy carry with Paranoia and disable him with Unspeakable Horror for 2 seconds. Shroud of Darkness is a nice skill but it's still useful with just one point for most of the game as it's hard to get two of it off in a fight until the final levels.

Summoner Spells

____________________________________
As a jungler you need to take Smite cause jungling is not viable without it. For second spell I strongly recommend Flash, cause it gives you the ability to close gaps between you and your targets, make it out of dangerous situations and escape from your chasers. In my opinion, as soon as Nocturne doesn't have any good escape mechanism, this spell is necessary.

Jungling

SPAE
Start your jungling from your Blue Buff (aka Ancient Golem). With the new Smite you can smite the Golem and have it up again as soon as you reach to your Red Buff (aka Lizard Elder). After you are done with your Blue Buff, go straight to Wraith Camp and clear it. Next take your Red Buff and gank mid or bot lane. Before taking the Red Buff remember to place your Stealth Ward behind the camp to be sure that noone comes to steal it from you. After ganking a lane go to Wraith Camp and Wolf Camp and clear them. Head to Wight above, kill it (use Smite) and then gank top lane. After this recall, buy your items, clear your jungle and gank lanes. Have in mind that Dragon spawns at 2:30 and you must have control of it. Ward it and with the first opportunity secure it. Baron Nashor spawns at 15:00 so remember to ward, so you know if enemy team goes for it. Aside from checking for wards while ganking, use your Sweeping Lens to clear enemy wards from Dragon and Baron, so they loose vision of them.

In higher elos is usual to clear only the buff camps and go straight for a gank. After your gank you can clear the rest of your jungle and then gank another lane.

Try to keep a balance between farming and ganking. Don't forget yourself at lanes waiting for a chance to gank way too long. Also remember that Nocturne is a greater ganker after lvl 6 so try to rush 6 for better ganking potential.

Updates And Changes

_

I changed Banshee's Veil with Spirit Visage in main build, cause eventually I believe that it suits better for late game Nocturne than Banshee's Veil.
