Hey everyone, my name is Chochobob and this is my third guide on Mobafire. Today we are going to be covering Fiora: The Grand Duelist. This week, Fiora was free to play, and I decided to try her out because people haven't played her recently. I used a build that I developed after a couple of games with her, and it ended up working. My first game with this build, I went 10-0, then 7-0, then 18-8, with 2 triple kills (In 3's). This build IS MADE FOR 3s. Though, it is viable for solo top 5s. In 3s, this works for any top and bottom lanes.

Fiora is my favorite AD carry champion and in my opinion, almost impossible to 1v1. She has amazing burst and high survivability, making her good for team fights AND 1v1.

Runes

Main rune set

Greater Mark of Desolation Greater Mark of Desolation
Like all AD champions, armor pen. is very important. I get all 9 runes as armor pen. because with the combination of Weapon Expertise , its not really necessary to get armor pen. items within your build.

Greater Seal of Might
I personally like this because it allows me to be aggressive every level. It gives me extra AD scaling from level 1 to 18, and I also do this on all AD champions that I use.
_____
Greater Glyph of Strength
Now, I choose straight attack damage instead of per level because it gives an edge somewhat differently. I don't want to rely completely on the scale so I get this, and even at level 1, I most likely have more AD than whoever I am fighting against.

Greater Quintessence of Might
This is the same as the seals, except it gives even more. You can change this to Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage if you feel more comfortable with straight AD from the start.

Summoner Spells

Flash
Flash is a great spell because you can get out of sticky situations (pun intended) very easily, or you can catch up to people running away. Fiora isn't very fast, so it is good if someone is running away and you almost have them dead, or if your the one running away.

Ignite
I feel almost every champion should use Ignite. It is very important for Fiora because it is good if your spells are on cooldown and your in mid-fight. Also, you can use this before a fight because of its after effect. You gain 5 attack damage afterwards. This is great lower levels because it gives an extra 5 attack damage, since most fights lower levels are just auto attacking.
_____

Ghost
Ghost is a great substitute for Flash if you like it better with your play style. I personally do not use it because it just didn't fit my style, but many people use it very well.

Exhaust
Exhaust is another amazing spell. It is useful if you replace Ignite for it, because on use, reducing an enemies armor and slowing them down, it is a great way to be an Apex Predator to all those squishy champions. :)

Skilling Sequence

I find it good to get Riposte first because it is your main spell while leveling, and at level 1, if you decide to gank, it reflects any auto attacks. As you know, at level 1 you only have 1 move so auto attacking is the main thing(Besides Ignite). The next thing to level is Lunge because its an amazing harass in lane and it does very good damage especially if you can get 2 lunges at the same target. After, I level Burst of Speed because it is good in a fight from level 3 to 18. Pop it before you go in, and you get a huge increase in attack speed. Then of course, you have Blade Waltz. Level this at 6, 11, and 18 like every other champion.

A good way to fight is by using Riposte and Burst of Speed, then Lunge at the target and try to use it twice. Then auto attack for a second or two, then use Blade Waltz. By the time you are out of your ulti, your abilities should be off, or nearly off of cooldown. Then, rinse and repeat. Most of the time, they will be dead by the end of the first rotation.

Explain why it's good. Mention if they might wanna go with a dynamic sequence and some situations where a certain way is better than others.

Your kit (abilities) and how to use them

Duelist

Fiora regenerates Health over time each time she deals physical damage. Striking champions will cause this effect to stack up to 4 times.
This is Fiora's passive, which basically gives Fiora great sustain, so there is almost no need for health pots early game, unless you REALLY need them. If you effectively harass with Lunge, there will be no problem laning.

Tips and tricks:
  • While laning, use Lunge on the enemy champion, then sit back and wait for health to regen if you lost some earlier.

Lunge

Fiora dashes forward to strike her target, dealing physical damage.
This is a strong offensive move for Fiora and is what removes the choice of Ghost over Flash in my eyes. " Fiora dashes forward to strike her target..." As we can see, it is effective in chasing down an enemy champion if they are running away, or reaching a champion hiding in the back of a team fight. "dealing physical damage." Now who doesn't want that? :P
Lunge also triggers the Duelist effect when used on an enemy champion.

Tips and tricks:
  • When in a team fight, spam this on your target while you have Riposte and Burst of Speed up.
  • When a fight starts, spam this to make sure you hit your target twice, dealing the most damage possible.
  • Use this on an enemy while laning to harass and trigger Duelist.

Riposte

Passively gives +15 attack damage to Fiora then an additional +5 every time the skill is leveled up. Fiora parries the next basic attack and reflects magic damage back to the attacker.
This is by far Fiora's most important skill. While laning or in a fight, it helps you reflect any auto attack from a champion or large minion. This attack will also negate any on hit effects, such as Sheen, Trinity Force, or Lich Bane but won't negate any crowd control effects. ( Fear ETC)

Tips and tricks:
  • Use this before entering a fight, along with Burst of Speed

  • It should never NOT have a cooldown while in a fight. (ALWAYS USE IT!) After a while, it will be easy to predict the best time to use it in a fight.

Burst of Speed

Fiora gains additional Attack Speed. Each basic attack or Lunge she lands during this time increases her Movement Speed.
This is where Fiora gains her massive burst and basically makes her the champion she is. With this ability, she can auto attack and win a fight, easily.

Tips and tricks:
  • Go into a fight with Burst of Speed already activated. If you hit an enemy, you gain movement speed, but ONLY IF YOU HIT THEM. If they try to run away, your speed boost has already stacked up.

  • Do NOT waste Lunge to catch someone. If you use Burst of Speed you will only need to Lunge if they are too far to catch even with a movement boost.

Blade Waltz

Fiora dashes around the battlefield, becoming untargetable in the process, and striking random enemy champions 5 times.
This is when you become OP. I will not deny it, and don't be suprised if she sees a nerf.
Fiora jumps at a target dealing damage, and hitting other enemies around her (if any). Against one target, it will do more damage. Against more targets, it will do less but hit many targets. During this time, Fiora becomes untargetable. This is very strong because if the fight is close, you can use Blade Waltz, regenerate health with the life steal you have, and finish the enemy/enemies off.
Tips and tricks:
  • Try to use this as your abilities are ending their cooldowns.

  • Try to use this in team fights when the enemies are bunched together, or 1v1 about mid fight.

Starting Items

These items are necessary in almost every game, because once you become aware of how you play against different champions, these items will become more effective. Personally, I ALWAYS start with a Doran's Blade

Doran's Blade
This item is very good for Fiora early game because it gives her health, AD, and life steal. All 3 of these factors are important to Fiora from level 1 to 18.

Health Potion
Health pots can save you, or do absolutely nothing for you. This is true because Fiora has good sustain because of her passive, however she is not invincible. Some champions, such as Jax are made to counter Fiora. If you are having trouble, get 3 or so health pots, and play more defensive in lane. The most important thing is to not fall behind.
_____

Cloth Armor
Against angry AD champions such as Tryndamere, Master Yi, Gangplank etc, this is very helpful early game. It reduces their damage early game, helping you to live and build into a Thornmail quickly if needed. I suggest if you start with this to also grab 5 Health Potions.

Boots of Speed
If you are a more defensive player, this is also a viable item to get early game. This and 3 health pots can be good. From here, you can build right into Berserker's Greaves.

Core Build

Core Build

Recommended Build:Get a Thornmail or Frozen Mallet depending on who you are fighting against. Thornmail vs. strong AD/AS. Frozen Mallet Vs. Strong AP/only 1 AD. Get a Last Whisper if you are having trouble with someone building armor to counter you. (ALMOST ALWAYS against Olaf)

Other Viable Items

Here are some items I usually don't take, but might use in certain situations.

Last Whisper
I do not always get this because some people don't build armor to counter, and instead build health. However, if they do build armor like they should, this penetrates EVEN MORE! (Plus your runes) It also gives some AD so your not wasting an item slot.
_____

Frozen Mallet
I may get this if I got a Sunfire Aegis or Thornmail but I am still stuggling to stay alive.

Atma's Impaler
I will ONLY get this if i have Frozen Mallet it does more damage the more health you have, and Fiora doesn't have much health. There are items that will give more AD than this if you don't have a Frozen Mallet.

Example Game

Clickhere for a sample video of this build.

I have a rough start against Nocturne. Then I come back and finish the game as 19-10 with one triple kill and a few double kills.
