Champion Build Guide

Introduction & Exposition -

About the Author

I am Rednblue, I have played every position, every role, and pretty much every champion to a degree that I know how everyone seems to work and what the solid idea should be when you play them. I can play any position at least decent, and any role. I know a lot about League and I know more than most people in my rank at least.

Now I know we all have those people who don't know how to build, they have runes for being a bursty Assassin but they build like a Bruiser and it is the reason why you will lose all these ranked games, its because people don't know what to build and when they look up what the build is, they still have no clue how to build.

The reason why you can't just look up the build for a Champion and instantly know all about the champion. But, the main thing I see in people in my Elo is, people may know exactly what to build in a normal situation but, they don't know why they build specific items and they don't know when it is not right to take the items and they just don't feel the game and they don't feel the items.

Lots of people have no clue why they are building something and they just look at what the item builds say about the builds and they just go with it. The problem with that is, they don't look and read why you might buy some of the items, or they just don't simply look at the runes for the build they want to do. Like if you wanted to go full AP Cho'Gath, you don't go Grasp of the Undying you go Arcane Comet, or Phase Rush.

So this Itemization Guide is me telling you how items work, when and why you should build them, and how to build in general.

Item Information

Juggernaut/Bruiser Items -

Attack Damage Items - As an Attack Damage Juggernaut you are going to be taking Conqueror, which means you will be taking damage and sustain build items such as: Divine Sunderer, Goredrinker, Sterak's Gage, Dead Man's Plate, Black Cleaver, Eclipse, ect. Your Items as a Juggernaut/Bruiser should ALWAYS provide damage and sustain in any form. Sustain as, Health, Omnivamp, Lifesteal, Bleed Effects on damage you take, shields, anything that will keep you alive. Damage as in damage. As a Juggernaut/Bruiser you want to think of yourself of a Trojan Horse, you penetrate the enemies line and you just explode them and bash and just obliterate everything in a vicinity while being unkillable in the process.

Magic Damage Items - As a Magic Damage type Juggernaut/Bruiser you will be on the minority side of Juggernaut/Bruiser type Champions. Your Item Choices will be something that provides, sustain, and DOT, Damage Over Time. Things that include both of those would be: Liandry's Torment which helps with mana supply and long term damage supply, Demonic Embrace, Riftmaker, Cosmic Drive which grants speed and lots of ability haste, Dead Man's Plate which is always a good Juggernaut/Bruiser item. Pretty much as a Magic Damage Juggernaut you want to pretty much just burn and bleed the enemy dead with your infinite burn and poison, ect. You just want to be able to hit everyone and continue to bash the whole enemy team at once slowly shredding their health bars to nothing.

Jungle Basic Items -

Basic Jungle Items - The Jungler basic items are obviously: Hailblade & Emberknife and the Refillable Potion really fits in well with the Junglers starting items which makes it feel like a Junglers item but its not really. If your Jungling you make sure to get these every game but when do you get which ones? You get Hailblade usually if your playing an MT, Main Tank, or just anyone tanky, and you pick Emberknife for dueling, which will be 1 v 1's in the Jungle.

Assassin Items -

Attack Damage Items- As an Attack damage assassin you will be wanting a lot of damage and a lot of armor penetration. You want to think of yourself as a burst type damage dealer as that's who you are so you should be taking items that are best used in burst combat such as: Duskblade of Draktharr, Prowler's Claw, Eclispe for a more survival build, Umbral Glaive, Youmuu's Ghostblade, Edge of Night, Black Cleaver, ect. ect. Pretty much anything with lethality, armor penetration, and non-crit damage.

Magic Damage Items- As an AP assassin you will usually have longer cool downs than your usual Attack Damage assassins as you will truly be killing them in one set of moves. You want your items to be HIGH-BURST and damage which consists of: Night Harvester, Lich Bane, and then moving onto just damage for your burst, Rabadon's Deathcap, Zhonya's Hourglass, Banshee's Veil, Cosmic Drive, ect ect. There isn't too much true burst items as you will just get two burst items and then beef up your damage and sustain. You shouldn't think of yourself as a tank if you are in a bad situation, or any situation really.

Mage Items -

Magic Damage Items - As a Mage you will only ever be build Ability Power, as a Mage you will usually take a lot of Mana and a lot of ability power, items that fit into this catagory would be items like this: Luden's Tempest, Liandry's Torment, Rabadon's Deathcap, Zhonya's Hourglass for sustain, Cosmic Drive for a lot of tankiness, ect. ect. As a mage you want to be able to just keep throwing **** at the enemies and do a stupid amount of damage in the process with each move, you don't want burst, you want to be able to have a somewhat steady output of damage and you want to be able to kill fast.

Marksman Items -

Attack Damage Items - As a Marksman you will pretty much be always building Attack Damage, Attack Speed, and Critical Strike chance. These items consist of: Kraken Slayer, Galeforce, Immortal Shieldbow for sustain, Essence Reaver for mana problems, Runaan's Hurricane for heavy scalers, Bloodthirster for high damage and sustain, Infinity Edge for high damage and crit amp, ect. ect. As a marksman you want to constantly be able to output damage constantly, you should just stop doing damage because you stop using your moves, you want your auto attacks to be able to do something and make a change, not you abilities.

Support Items -

Attack Damage Items - You will usually build assassin if your playing and Attack Damage support;;;

Magic Damage Items - As a magic damage support you will usually be an enchanter or a mage which means that for enchanters you will be building up your heals, shields, and mana regeneration, the items that help out this catagory are: Moonstone Renewer, Imperial Mandate, Ardent Censer, Staff of Flowing Water, ect.

Tank Items - You just want to be building tank peel on tank supports but with a budget build. Items will consist of stuff like this: Locket of the Iron Solari, Shurelya's Battlesong, Knight's Vow, Zeke's Convergence, ect. ect.
