Threats to Fizz with this build
|Zed||One of the easiest matchup for fizz. You can dodge his ulti with E but so can he. When you get hourglass, you'll have a major advantage|
|Vladimir||You need to W+Q him and wait him to go in flask to use your E, then rape him.|
|Veigar||Use your E on his cage, then rape him.|
|Twisted Fate||He can pokes you a bit early, but post-6 you can completely zone him. If their jungler doesn't camp him, you'll get fed.|
|Lux||You trade her easily, as brand. You need to escape one of her spell then you can engage.|
|Katarina||Your ulti > his ulti.|
|Fiddlesticks||Cancel his ulti with yours.|
|Akali||Trade against her, if she use flask, use E to slow her and rush her with Q.|
|Brand||He literaly can't face you. So you trade from level 1, and roam easily.|
|Karthus||You don't need tip to face him. He's already dead and ragequit. Dodge his ulti with E.|
Hello! and welcome to my guide of Fizz and first guide on Mobafire. Whether you are new to League or a veteran, if you want to learn about Fizz then you have come to the right place!
I plan on keeping it constantly updated over time and making it look as visually appealing as I can. If you have any queries about this guide ask in the discussion and if you like the guide hitting the upvote will help greatly! Thank you for your time and I hope you will enjoy the guide :).
First of all, you may ask me why play Fizz ? Maybe cause he's one of the funniest champion to play with. Ok, if you get a bad start, the game will be long. But if you get fed, you will make some funny move, you will be OP. He's really amazing to play with.
Once you main fizz, you can outplay your enemies by many different ways.
Then, you will ask me why should you trust me? I'm playing Fizz since november 2011, i didn't main him all the time, but i often play him and saw how he evolved. Since the newest patch, he's my main. I know everything about him, his moves and all the stuff arround him
Greater Mark of Magic Penetration
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist
Greater Seal of Scaling Health
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power
Greater Mark of Magic Penetration Magic pen marks are always the way to go. They offer a boost in early game damage and stay relevant all the way into late-game.
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist If you face an AP mid laner, you don't need scaling cause you have a lot of escape in lategame. You need MR since begin to trade early level.
Greater Seal of Scaling Health provides a formidable amount of health that can easily save your life on more than one occasion, although you might suffer against AD mids early-game.
Alternatively, you can also utilize hybrid pen marks to help with last hitting and deal extra damage with autoattack poke but I'm not a fan of that. You can substitute with scaling AP glyphs instead of MR glyphs if you don't feel like the enemy has many AP threats. You can also substitute armor seals in place of scaling health seals if you are up against an AD mid (ie. Zed).
Pros / Cons
- An assasin with a huge burst potential
- One of the best mid champ to 1n1
- You can dive with his
- Snowballing is easy
- Hard to master
- Squishy if you don't use correctly
- Going through wall is hard to master
- If you don't master Fizz and fail your early, your game gonna be really long
Fizz's dexterity allows him to move through units and take less physical damage from basic attacks.
- It allows Fizz to take fewer damages from enemy harass, giving you some additional possibilities.
- This passive is very effective in lane while trading against your opponent especially when you taking the minions aggro.
- The passive also remove collision with minions. it allows you to move more freely around minions and to roam easily. which may prove priceless in the newest map’s layout.
- The damage reduction of the passive applies after armor reduction.
- This passive benefits from the damage reduction points of the defensive mastery branch. The objective thus is to win the exchanges of harass by reducing the impact, especially in early.
Fizz dashes through his target, dealing normal attack damage plus 10/25/40/55/70 (+35% Ability Power) magic damage. This ability can trigger on-hit effects.
- This spell allows you to go through walls, though only if you have vision of the other side of the wall.
- It is essential to activate your W before using this spell
- Besides being a gap-closer spell, it can also be used as an escape spell.
- Be careful to correctly predict where this spell will leave you since it has a fixed travel (550) distance, you could end up under a turret.
Passive: Fizz's attacks rend his enemies, dealing 20/30/40/50/60 (+45% Ability Power) plus 4/5/6/7/8% of the target's missing Health as magic damage over 3 seconds.
Active: For 6 seconds, Fizz's attacks deal an additional 10/15/20/25/30 (+30% Ability Power) magic damage on hit.
- This spell deals decent damage and allows Fizz to trade efficiently using auto-attacks. Do not especially hesitate to deceive damages of this skills early game
- Your benefits from the activation of
Fizz hops toward your cursor onto his spear, becoming untargetable, and then slams the ground dealing 70/120/170/220/270 (+75% Ability Power) magic damage to nearby enemies and slowing them by 40/45/50/55/60% for 2 seconds.Reactivating this ability while Fizz is on top of his spear causes Fizz to jump again towards your cursor and deal 70/120/170/220/270 (+75% Ability Power) magic damage in a smaller area to enemies nearby, instead of slamming the ground.
-It is the major spell of Fizz, and is the hardest spell to master.
-It allows you to : Avoid spells (even ulti), jump through walls, gap-close on your enemies, escape, engage, depending on your way of using it.
- It can slow down enemies which helps you auto-attack them.
Fizz releases a magical fish toward a location attaching to any champion that walks over it, slowing their movement by 50/60/70% and amplifying magic damage by Fizz (except Chum the Waters) to the target by 20% for 6 seconds. After 1.5 seconds, a shark erupts from the ground, knocking up the target and knocking other enemies aside dealing 200/325/450 (+100% Ability Power) magic damage and reducing their Movement Speed by 50/60/70% for 1.5 seconds.
- His ulti is a skillshot
- Always target your ult at max range to maximise chances of catching someone in it.
- Think to say hello to the shark when he brings out the head of the water
Well, now you have some more idea about Fizz spell, I will introduce you why you need to upgrade instead of .
Let's make a short calculation
At level 4, one of your spell will be level 2.
If you upgrade (level2) : you gonna make something like : 160 damage + 45 % slow.
If you upgrade (level2) : you gonna make something like : 55 + 35 per hit + 5% of the target's missing Health. If you hit him twice : you do 125, if you hit 3 times : 150 (if he only miss 100hp).
So at level 4, you combo him twice, then on him, two hit and back. You do this 2 times, and you see with mathematics you deal more damage with an upgrade on . (cause he'll get less hp, so you deal more damage)
You can try, the more you up , the more you deal damage. Stronger is the difference.
Lot of people max on Fizz, may someone explain me why?! I mean, you will use your E to escape (so, you don't need damage on it, even the slow), or to complete your spell sequence.
So your is more usefull to trade on lane.
Whatever, when you will need more damage on , you will be feed, and higher level.
Flash What for ? You get a .
Ignite This is primordial on Fizz, coupled with your makes the death come faster. Extra-damage who really help you to get early kill.
Heal A lovely spell who give you a bit more of escape, giving you timing to use back a magic to go across a wall or walk back in. With the new patch 5.19, lot of AP mid use Teleport, so there isn't a problem about Ignite.
Nevertheless, you'll need to use heal after ignite end if you can (cause of reduce heal). This heal also helps your teammates.
Furthmore, people picking orianna, lux and champ like this often go on barrier.
You can also go on Barrier if you think Ignite will destroy your lane phasing.
Think about it, don't use your heal when he Ignite you.
Fast push combo :
Use it only if you get ward, and know where is the jungle.
between the 2 lines of minions. auto-attack the back-line of minions on a normal creep to come back next to your tower.
Harass combo :
Active after what you auto-attack him 2 times.
And if you can, use to slow him, and auto-attack him as much as u can
Or to escape from his spell and go back into your minions or a safety point.
All in :
Active after what you auto-attack him 2 times. Use , auto-attack him, and when the fish appear, or a little bit before, use to slow him again and auto-attack again.
How to farm :
For melee : 2 hits of tower + 1 AA
For range : 1 hit of tower + 1 AA (you can active W, you'll farm easily)
Doran's Ring is your start
At your first back :
You need to rush Sheen, couple with make your AA strongest.
Second dorans make you stronger to stay in lane.
IF ONLY YOU ARE 4/0 at 10min (or something like that)
You can go on Mejai's Soulstealer and plan to buy The Dark Seal asap (after Sheen)
Second back :
You don't end Lich Bane right now
You have 2 options :
- build a lot of damage if you think you will not be the first focus, then you can rush Rabadon's Deathcap
- or you can go on Zhonya's Hourglass
I often go on the second option
You have nice damage from Zhonya's Hourglass and you can also break everything you want with Zhonya's Hourglass actif.
Moreover, after some games, you will learn when use Zhonya's Hourglass to get back all your spell to all-in a second time.
Right now, you can end Lich Bane then go on Rabadon's Deathcap and get Void Staff.
Last Item :
Your game should be ended before you get it, but if you need a last item, you have to pick it according to their team.
If you need MR (and get a second AP in your team) :
- Abyssal Mask
If you need LIFE (and even a second slow to hunt)
- Rylai's Crystal Scepter
If you need AP :
- Luden's Echo
If they get lot of MR and you need some life :
- Liandry's Torment
If you need MR + ARMOR :
- Guardian Angel
If often go on Rylai's Crystal Scepter or Guardian Angel cause i'm often focus and need some life to trade or a second life to kill them all :D
What do you expect from Fizz
Main role : assassin
Fizz is an assassin, that you have to punish at any time the errors of positioning.
Early game :
Fizz need to farm without taking too much risks. Indeed, it is better to allow to pass 2 or 3 minions than to be forced to return to the base. Post level 4, you can begin to harass.
Fizz is going to become the real threat. His damages coupled with some items which he possesses at this moment of the party offer him the possibility of murdering squeeshy champion rather easily. Do not forget to activate and to put the maximum of auto-attacks.
You will need to roam as soon as possible to help all other lane. And if your enemy use a big spell on minions, just rush him and show him he did a mistake.
You can try an engage with your ultimate on a carry.
You can also try combo and delay with a Zhonya.
