Introduction

Lore
The Ionians have developed some of the most breathtaking and deadly martial arts on all of Runeterra - just one manifestation of their pursuit of enlightenment. The most remarkable blade style to emerge, however, was the unusual byproduct of foreign intervention. Master Lito was a swordsman whose teachings were sought by ruling classes from nearly every city-state. His art was a highly-guarded secret, but it was said that swords would breathe in his grasp. He withered unexpectedly from a mysterious disease which baffled the brightest of Runeterran physicians. When he died, he left behind Zelos and Irelia, his son and daughter, and a truly unique weapon. Zelos became a sergeant in the Ionian military and left to seek assistance from Demacia immediately prior to Noxus' invasion of Ionia. Irelia, charged with the protection of their home until Zelos returned, was alone when the Noxian forces struck.
The Ionians fought admirably, but soon Ionian blood stained the land beneath the prints of foreign boots. At the Great Stand of the Placidium, Ionians prepared for surrender, but were inspired to maintain their resistance when the young Irelia lifted her father's enormous blade and pledged to hold until her brother returned. In the chaos of the ensuing fight, Irelia was cursed with dark Noxian Necromancy. As her life ebbed, Soraka, the Starchild, made a final attempt to anchor her fading soul. Unwilling to relinquish her home, Irelia rose at the brink of death, and her father's sword lifted in the air alongside her. Irelia rushed back to the fore, unfazed by the blade's sudden animation. The weapon danced around her effortlessly, cutting down Noxians as they gaped in horror. The decimated invaders were forced to retreat from the Placidium. Irelia was appointed Ionia's Captain of the Guard, and when the defense of her homeland moved to the Fields of Justice, so did she.
'The sword flourishes, as though painting with blood.'

Pros

Cons
/--Item dependent./--Somewhat squishy early game. /--CC is not reliable ( ![]() |
Start items
These items will give you more movement speed to get away from gang and 3x
Health Potion to survive solo top or lane.
1st recall sequence You need
Phage for more hp and to slow the your enemy. At the boots you can choose
Mercury's Treads if the enemy team is more AP than AD, and
Ninja Tabi if the enemy team is more AD than AP. Additionally
Mercury's Treads give you 35 tenacity, that is very good against champions with CC (ex:
Veigar,
Malzahar,
Warwick...).
2nd recall sequence Buy
Zeal because you need to complete
Trinity Force.
Sheen give you mana and his passive is very good in combination with
Hiten Style because when you active this spell active
Sheen passive who give you extra damage.
3rd recall sequence
Trinity Force is the best item because
Irelia is a hybrid champion and she need all stats improve.
Wriggle's Lantern need to farm more easily the minion and to kill fast the monster with blue buff and red buff.
finish build The first sequence will gives you more AD and increase the critical damage but low armor and magic resist, and the second sequence gives a little armor and magic resist and you have the awesome passive who revive but less AD.

finish build The first sequence will gives you more AD and increase the critical damage but low armor and magic resist, and the second sequence gives a little armor and magic resist and you have the awesome passive who revive but less AD.
Start items
I choose
Regrowth Pendant because in combination with
Hiten Style you can restore your HP very fast. That combination is good when you are solo top.
1st recall sequence Philosopher's Stone will give you more HP regen. and mana regen. and you can farm more fast with
Bladesurge.
Boots is for gang escape or to catch an enemies.
2nd recall sequence You need
Phage because is a useful item for off-tank will give you all stats who need an off-tank.
3rd recall sequence First you need to buy
Wriggle's Lantern because is very good early game item who help you to farm more easily. Another item who can replace
Wriggle's Lantern is
Wit's End, this item help maximize your attack speed and the Wit's End size passive+
Hiten Style give at your auto attack high more damage. I recommend to buy
Wriggle's Lantern or Wit's End size when you can and come back another time to buy
Trinity Force.

Finish build
The three sequence is very good and is your choice. The first sequence is for high armor and magic resist and the second is for more HP and a little armor/magic resit. The third help you to increase the attack damage,HP and a very little armor but is not my favorite sequence because you don't have
Guardian Angel passive. This is my opinion but you can choose your favorite. You can try every combination but not
Randuin's Omen with
Atma's Impaler because the second item is useless if you don't have a very high HP.

Always buy wards
Even if you can finish your item, but it would leave you with 15 gold, you should screw the item, buy a ward and go back to your lane.

Green dots for your personal wards in the lane. Always have a ward in the river bush. Always have a ward in the river bush. And yes I know I said that twice.
Yellow dots are the places for controlling the jungle routes and the Buffs. These can be used to control the map and see the enemy movements as well as for counter-jungling and advanced lane defense (a.k.a. to prevent enemies from ganking you from behind your turret)
When you are with
Irelia solo top the most important priority is to defend the turret. You need to stay back(around to the turret) and harass all player who try to destroy him.
To farm you can use
Bladesurge or
Hiten Style if the player is at distance but don't spam it because you risk to consume all your mana.
You can also use
Hiten Style to restore your HP when his is very low.
Irelia in my opinion is a wonderful champion solo top, you can use
Bladesurge to deal damage in your enemies and after that can use
Equilibrium Strike to slow/stun the enemies and escape from probability enemies attacks.
Against champion with mega burst early game (ex.:
Garen,
Veigar,
Xin Zhao...) you need to defend the turret because your damage is not very high (before
Trinity Force).

To farm you can use

You can also use
